Past week and 1/2..........
Well since my last blog entry, I finally got the Asus Rampage II Extreme mobo and an Intel Core i7 920 CPU last week. The cost of both as a bundle unit was $683 Cdn ($771.79 after taxes). For any info you can check out the link on this bad boy mobo! As for DVDs, I picked up Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs from work for the special release day price of $17.97 ($20.31 after taxes). And finally earlier today I picked up another WD 1TB Greenpower II HD, except that this one has only 8MB cache since the store did not have any 32mb cache versions left. My older 120GB Maxtor drive which I use in my Linksys Netwoork Storage unit crapped out a few days ago, so I'm getting this one as a replacement. Cost of the new HD was $81.50 ($92.43 after surchanges and taxes). I also spent an extra $13.99 ($15.81 after taxes) for a 50 pack of CD-Rs, since I'll be burning some CDs soon. I earlier today paid a visit to my instructor at the private college I attended just over a year ago, and manage to get a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. So I'll need to burn that to a CD. Lastly.....I just recently had my Acura TSX Aero kit installed and figured I'd post some pictures. So enjoy!
Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen 2-disc Special Edition DVD
I picked that up earlier today at Wal-Mart for $26.83 ($27.29 after employee discount and taxes). Also I not too long ago replaced the spark plugs in my car (a 2004 Acura TSX) myself and tomorrow morning will be taking it to the dealership to get the lower Aero kit installed. I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look after installed
. I originally yesterday tried installing the side portion, but gave up after I found it difficult to slide the original panel off (which was to be replaced). I guess sometimes you just gotta swallow your own pride
!
New stuff and developments in the last few weeks..........
Today I bought a brand new full-tower case for a soon to be up-coming PC system build. The case I got was the Cooler Master HAF 932. I had heard great things about the case, plus I LOVE the way it looks as well
. The case costed me $180.79 cdn after taxes. I also sometime last week bought a Western Digital 1TB Greenpower 32mb cache HD for $87 along with 25 ft RJ45 Cat5e network cable which came to a total of $108.82 cdn. The reason for purchasing that was for my Linksys Network System which I had bought last year on Boxing Day. I have YET to setup that unit
. So I wanted a larger HD to compliment my 120GB HD that I was also going to be installing with that unit. As for DVD movies, I did pick up Defiance and Nixon for the price of $10 each ($22.60 if taxes are included).
Far Cry 2 and Garmin nuvi 265T GPS
I picked up Far Cry 2 the previous Sat at work for $19.83 ($20.17 after employee discount and taxes). And just this past weekend, I bought the Garmin nuvi 265T at the Wal-mart rollback price of $188. The total of that was $191.20 Cdn after employee discount and taxes. Not too bad I guess considering the fact that it was originally $258 Cdn before the current rollback. Plus it has bluetooth hands-free calling and FM traffic built into it which was actually the main reason I wanted to get it, as I was never really one that was desparate for finding my way around the city and about where I live. Plus the built in speedometer is a nice convenience to have as well with the way I mount it on the windshield just about flush against the top of my dash.
Canadian National Exhibition and new stuff this past weekend.......
This past weekend, I made a brief detour into the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE or Ex) to visit a few vendors who make their appearance at the Ex year round. First was the this liquidators vendor who sold discounted DVDs, books and PC software (mainly PC games). For the deal of buy 4 for $20, I bought Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Nikopol: Secrets Of The Immortals, F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. Because of the buy 4 for $20 deal, I ended up getting ANOTHER free copy of The Movies. As a result I now have THREE copies of that game! The other two from the previous year Ex. I also got a few shirts as part of a buy 3 for $60 from the clothing vendor which had brand names such as French Connection UK (can't use the abbreviation because the GS site attempts a censor on it believe or not!) and Urban Behaviour ($67.80 after taxes). And finally I bought some Auri polymer car polish which also included a bottle vinyl protectant and leather restorer (which could prove useful since my seats are leather) for $20 flat. And that concludes my brief stop at the CNE. Earlier tonight I picked up Plants vs. Zombies for $19.83 ($20.17 after employee discount/taxes) as well as some cans of canned pasta
. Lastly on another note, I did end up picking up some weeks ago another copy of BIA Hell's Highway from Wal-Mart for $0.98 ($0.99 after employee discount/taxes).
