Fishn4Zora's E3 Blog: Nintendo
Hey everyone. Hope you've all had a good E3. I have. ![]()
Now how about that Nintendo Press Conference? My initial impressions were poor due to the reappearance of Nintendo's Cammy Dunaway and her smiles, but all doubt was swept away when New Super Mario Bros. Wii was announced. A brand new Mario platformer? YES! ...with four-player co-op? HECK YES!!! Very cool, Nintendo. I can't wait to play through the game with some of my buddies. Hopefully they'll announce Gamecube/Classic Controller support. They also announced a new Golden Sun for DS. Looks good so far, but the trailer doesn't show any battles.
Still, I've wanted to jump into Golden Sun for a long time now. Maybe this will be a good jumping point.
Alright, now let's talk about the big announcements. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is totally coming, and the trailer showed more of the same Galaxy style platforming but with new concepts. Looking forward to playing some more Galaxy. There was so much potential for more in the original. Hopefully some of the potential will be realised when the game ships in 2010. Metroid: OTHER M was announced. It's a Metroid game developed with Team Ninja at the reigns. Interesting, very interesting. Hopefully Samus won't be playing beach volleyball on Zebes. YOU HEAR ME TECMO?! DON'T RUIN THIS FRANCHISE!
Also of note was the WII VITALITY SENSOR. Dude, I'd be scared to let this thing take my pulse. They might send it to the government or something... ![]()

Oh it's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! Fishn4Zora's E3 Blog: Day 0
I'm sure as you all know, E3 is this week! Oh, what a magical time. A time when mortal enemies can put aside their differences and come together in the grand pastime that is gaming. Well, unless they happen to be fanboys of opposing companies. Then there's even more of the daily flame wars. ![]()
Anyway, Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft all had their hotly-anticipated conferences yesterday. I give my thoughts on each as follows.
Microsoft's conference was jam-packed. It immediately topped all of last years conferences with great trailers, new tech, and appearances by Kojima, Hawk, and heck, even the Beatles. Well, surprisingly Kojima is not working on a Metal Gear Solid 4 on 360. I think that the Ipod item in MGS4 would to hard to replace with a Zune, but that's just me.
Kojima did announce Metal Gear Solid Rising. Apparently it will star Raiden, and they did NOT announce it as a 360 exclusive. Bittersweet for the Xbox owners. Also Left 4 Dead 2 exists. Is it just me or is Valve bearing on racial with the new Southern motif? Just something I noticed. Alan Wake is a game surprisingly. Seems like a cross between Silent Hill and the Alone in the Dark reboot. I'll keep an eye on it. Those types of games always seem to intrigue me. Oh, yeah a new Halo game was mentioned. Meh
EA's conference was actually pretty interesting this year. A little long-winded, but not to an annoying level. Particular mention goes to Bioware's Knight's of the Old Republic. That trailer gave me goosebumps. Also Mass Effect 2 looks really good.
Oh, Ubisoft, how you disappoint me. One of the MOST BORING conferences ever. The only thing that came out of that conference that interested me was the Red Steel 2 reveal. Red Steel 2 looks amazing with the incredible cell-shaded art. It's beautiful and reminds me of a certain Suda 51 game. ![]()
End thoughts: A good day for E3 09. If any of you are wondering what I think of the Natal technology, it reminds me of a little game call Seaman. Remember it? Yeah, that was supposed to be what Milo is being called now. Don't get you hopes up, people!

Broke into a castle. Met a Princess. Learned a Lullaby
Merry Monday, you crazy kids. What a week it has been for me. Busy, busy, busy. Luckily, I managed to squeeze in some Ocarina of Time. Currently, I'm about to go up Death Mountain. The first Death Mountain dungeon is one of my favorites in Ocarina. Why do you like it, Fish? Two reasons, lava and dinosaurs. Need I say more? Ok, fine, I will. The reason I really like the dungeon is because of the great level design. Some of the more interesting puzzels are within the fiery labyrinth.
Other than that not much has been going on gaming wise. Why? Well I met some really cool people recently. Let's just say that they have a beautiful daughter a little yonger than me...

Playing my Ocarina
No, unfortunately I don't own a mystical time traveling flute, but I do have Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (that's way better imo). Today I decided to begin the quest again as I do pretty much every year. Amazingly every time I play Ocarina of Time it seems to get better with age. Of course, it helps when you're playing it on my 21 inch flatscreen TV/computer monitor (I love you baby, oh so much). I'm halfway through the Great Deku Tree. I'll probably break into the castle next time along with the mandatory visit to Lon Lon Ranch. I wonder if I can handle that wonderful Water Temple again....

One Year and a Day ago...
A lone gamer decided that it was time to finally sign up for Gamespot. Unbeknowest to him the radioactive beams of the internet would transform him into FISHN4ZORA. Fast forward 366 or so days later and the moniker still stands. This is his story... A tale of courage, betrayal, and love's sweet virtues. So vast and- Ah, the heck with it. I ain't got time to write a novel.
Thanks all you crazy people for sticking with me. I've made some great friends over the past year, and a couple of enemies (Haha, jk). Shoutouts go to everyone who comments or at least reads my blog. You have terrible taste in writing, but thanks anyway (Yes that was an awesome joke). Here's to another great year!
