I've only actually heard In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. (Forgive me, I just discovered them about a month ago). However, based on that one album, I'd say they're one of the best bands I've ever heard. The lyrics are outstanding. Shocking,whimsical, barely coherent at times, but none-the-less beautiful. Now, it may not sound like much on your first listen, but just like Jeff Mangum's voice, you have to let it grow on you. And in time it will. =]
