Note to self: DO NOT buy L4D2
Just don't do it, don't pay full price like you did with L4D shortly after release, wait until the game gets patched and buy it when it's on a weekend deal.
Disable Windows Key
There's nothing more annoying than minimizing your game accidentally by hitting the windows key so I decided to search for a solution and I found it here: http://johnhaller.com/jh/useful_stuff/disable_windows_key/
Basically what this does is disable the pertinent windows key so you won't accidentally minimize your game, now the benefit of this is that you do not need extra programs running on the background to block this key.
Now this post is made only as a personal reference so when I format my PC in the future (and I do that quite often) I know exactly where to go to block this particular key. If you want to try this out please read the warning on the site I posted and then proceed if you want.
Member since...
Another quick entry, maybe pointless but this is my blog
.
I just realized that I've been a member for 4 years now! And I can tell that this site has changed a lot from what I remember, mostly for good, also I would like to thank to every person that have helped me in one way or another during these years when I've had a question.
That's it, and remember play and enjoy!
Two new videos added...
MoH: A Mission 1 Intro
MoH: A Mission 1 Gameplay
The difference between these videos and my first one is very very obvious, in the first video the framerate was erratic and choppy at times but now the game runs smoothly and at a better framerate (25+), also the textures looks sharper and way more detailed that before, the post processing effect are amazing (check the gun when in ironsight "mode", also the screen when you are getting your orders and the parachute at the end of the gameplay video), the water on the floor looks good too.
Settings
Before: All low @ 1024x768.
Now: Textures: high, Model detail and decals: Medium, post processing effects: Full and run effects (blur and so on): On @ 1024x768.
Also the performance boost is noticeable in source games like TF2 and Portal ( I have some issues with CS: S not applying automatically AA and AF, but nothing that can't be tweaked or solved after formatting my PC) with all settings on high (60+ fps @ 1024x768 ). I also tested BF2 -high profile- and I get 70+fps when the combat is not so intense and 35+ in heavy fire fights, not bat at all, too bad BF2 is not what it used to be anymore...
.
Now, all I have to do is test these demos: CoD 4/UT3/TimeShift & Crysis, and replay R6: Vegas, but this time with all the eye-candy on
.
One thing I'm thinking right now is that I'll be able to play GoW because the maps are smaller than the ones in Airborne (at least that's what I've seen in videos and SSs), so I'm a happy guy.
Note: Please keep in mind that due gamespot's encoding the quality of the video was reduced severely and do not represent the true performance/visual quality of the game in my PC.
