I don't even know how these things happen...

I'm not sure what my luck is with the world of videogames because my brothers had purchased two 360 games on clearance from Target on Tuesday. Those games were Guitar Hero: World Tour ($12.99) and Fable II ($19.99).

Of course none of us can play World Tour because we have no properly functional guitar controller for the 360 and we have the Rock Band 2 controllers for PS3. On the other hand, I will be the only one playing Fable II and that is a game I had not planned on getting for a while. I haven't even beaten Fable: The Lost Chapters yet and I got that back at the end of 2006.

Having only played Fable II for two hours or so earlier, I can say that this sequel looks very promising in terms of exploration. However, I've seen games that are graphically superior to Fable II. The graphics do look very nice though. I still need to play more of it. I just hope my dog doesn't end up dying.

EDIT: I just looked at Fable II's release date. It was bought on Tuesday and I didn't play it until Wednesday, the 21st. Fable II was released Oct. 21, 2008. I played it exactly one year after its release date. I'm actually kind of surprised and amazed right now.

So my brother got Soul Calibur on PSP today...

...and he told me about where he went to buy it. Target didn't have it, so he went to the nearby Gamestop and asked the guy behind the counter if they had a new copy of Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny. The guy behind the counter said "Yeah." and he pulls out the UMD inside a little plastic bag.

So my brother is like, "That's new? No thanks." He then went over to Fry's Electronics to buy the game. After hearing this story I was laughing my head off.

Dear God, I will continue to never buy anything "new" from Gamestop.

I always like finding great deals on used games.

Two days ago, I bought three used games at Gamestop:

Sly 2: Band of Theives (PS2)

Viewtiful Joe 2 (GC)

Mario Party 4 (GC)

The thing about used games is that you have to make sure the disc isn't messed up. Of course, these were fine. The great thing is though that Viewtiful Joe 2 was $2.99! Sly 2 was $6.99 and Mario Party 4, unfortunely, costed me $19.99. The last time I got a game for $2.99 with the disc in good shape was Max Payne (PS2).

And since I mentioned Gamestop, some prices on some of those used games are a bit questionable. The 360 version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent was there for $12.99 while the Xbox version was $19.99! Also, Marvel vs Capcom 2 on PS2 was $79.99! That's about to be downloadable for crying out loud!

I also find it odd howa game has a higher price than the exact same game next to it. As I mentioned above, I got Mario Party 4 for $19.99, however there was a MP4 next to the oneI got priced at $24.99. Crazy, huh?

EDIT 5/30/09: Okay, I know why Mavel vs Capcom 2 was so much nowbecause there weren't that many copies of the game madefor PS2 and Xbox.

Ugh...Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

Two days ago my brother decided to buy Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) for the Xbox 360. Needless to say, that meant I would end up playing it and finally seeing how terrible it really is. Holy crap. I haven't played as Shadow yet, but Sonic and Silver's levels (especially Silver's) are poorly designed. I mean, these levels are far worse than any of the levels in Sonic Unleashed.

Now I understand why people were complaining about Gamespot's Sonic Unleashed score. Sonic Unleashed is far superior than the piece of crap I have to suffer through now. Once I beat Sonic '06, I think I'll review it as well.

EDIT 3/27/09: That is if I EVER beat that poorly designed game. I haven't played it for a while.

EDIT 5/16/09: Dear god, I don't think I can go back to playing it! I think this isthe first game I own in which I seriously don't want to go back to and finish.

EDIT 10/17/09: Went back to playing it. The game is still a mess though.

Used Games

Over the weekend I managed to find three used games at Gamestop. Two of which I consider myself lucky to find. I actually found the PS2 version of Half-Life, which I almost freaked out after seeing. Then I also found Sonic Adventure 2 Battle; I had been wanting to get this game (DC or GC) since I had a few oppertunities before, but I never got it. Finally, I got Wild Arms 3 which was at a cheap price.

These games now interfere with my Christmas games which are taking a while to beat. I already beat Gears of War 2 (now playing on next difficulty) and I actually played all of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle yesterday. Meaning I had to suffer through all the worst parts of the game (again, since I borrowed the Dreamcast version years ago and beat it).

I just realized I haven't reviewed any current gen games.

I should probably pick one to review. I have the choice between a good amount of Wii, 360, and PS3 games. I shoud get to doing that since the last game I reviewed was with Gamespot's old rating system.

Well, Smash Bros. Brawl kicks ass.

I got it at Target today some time after 8am. With my money, my brother bought it with a discount since he works there. I've only played for 6 hours and 2 minutes.

By the way, anyone live in Califonia so I can play against someone online? I tried to play with random people but there was no one. All I did was watch a few matches.

My brothers bought a PS3.

I never thought I would have all three next gen consoles so soon. They didn't buy any games for it. It did come with the Blu-RaySpider-Man 3 though, but I couldn't watch the whole movie since I had to go somewhere yesterday. They bought the PS3 to basically watch Blu-Ray moviessince my Dad recently bought an HDTV since our old regular TV was starting to go out. So we got what was current in TVs.

Speaking of HDTV, all the 360 games look downright amazing. Especially Gears of War and Halo 3. This also led to my brother buying the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock instead of the Wii version. So much for playing online for free.

Anyway, since I have a Playstation 3 now I'm ready for Metal Gear Solid 4.

I finally added Universial Studios Theme Park Adventure to my collection.

Why I didn't add it before was because I didn't want anyone to know I had this game.

I didn't mention multiplayer in my Conker Live and Reloaded review!

I didn't type anything about that. I didn't play it when I wrote the review.

Anyway, multiplayer is only 2 players actually. You can play co-op and play against a friend with another Xbox with the system link. You can also play by yourself against dum-bots. You can play as the SHC or the Tediz. Both teams have various classes to play as, like sniper, flamethrower, etc. Even if you don't have anyone to play 2 player with it's still fun to play by yourself.

I still leave the score at 9.0 though.
