Before i start id like to say I'm sorry i haven't gotten around to every ones blogs as of late, I've been busy with school but other than that i just haven't been in the mood to do anything as of late so again sorry to those who's blogs i have missed out on. Anyway on to the countdown, (ill try to keep this blog short so as not to blabber on like im prone to)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instead of writing why i like each song individually im gonna sum up what it think of the series music as a whole then i will list what songs are my favorite. I figured since its near Halloween i should do something for the occasion, and it doesn't really feel like Halloween and October for me until there's a little castlevania present.
As many of you know the Castlevania series is one that has incredible music, among other great things. These themes all represent to me what the series is all about and they have a dark medevil gothic feeling just like the artwork from the games. Some are very calming while others are uplifting or mysterious, which in turn sets the incredible atmosphere that i love about the series. Each theme will have multiple versions for you to listen to, so without further ado here are my top 10 favorite Castlevania themes.

In other gaming related stuff I finished Zelda Phantom Hourglass and Phoenix Wright pretty quickly since those are two titles ive been meaning to finish for some time. They were both pretty good, PH was alright not great but also not as bad as i had once pegged it to be.

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker demo = Immense Win
Never thought id be doing another blog so soon since i like to space them out a bit but here goes, and no i wont be talking about my school like everyone else cuz i don't want to talk about it, or hear about it.
( take the hint
jk)
So yesterday as i was checking out the tokyo game show coverage i happened on to a post that said Ign was handing out the MGS peace walker demo for free. So i downloaded it as fast as possible onto my psp. First off the game has fantastic production values and the cutscenes are just awesome, mixing in game cutscenes and stylish comic book like ones in the same vain as the ones from portable ops (although they got the main artist to them this time).

The demo first starts you off in a training tutorial but i couldnt really use it since its all in japanese so i used a faq sheet made to show the mapping of the buttons. The controls are smooth and fluid but they take some getting use to since they are rather awkward in a way. In the demo you get to do a few challenge maps from the game which are layed out pretty well and gave me a run for my money since i was still new to the control scheme. The over the shoulder aiming returns from MGS4 and for the most part it works pretty well but i still have to get used to the face buttons controlling the camera. Overall the demo is excellent and i am thrilled that i got a chance to play it, the only thing im wondering about is why in this game cant snake crawl? Miner gripe aside anyone who has a psp and is a metal gear fan should check out this demo

You can download it in the link below for free, there are directions on how to do so and a faq page for control help

Thanks again for reading guys
Gaming Update, Activision Rant, and a few other things
First off id like to thank everybody who checked out my birthday top ten game blog, thanks for all the great comments guys.
Anyway I thought Id just give an update on a few things gaming wise etc.
Gaming Update
The games ive been playing recently are:
Dissidia Final Fantasy

A great game for the PSP, I need to put quite a bit more time into it but there are plenty of fun battles to be had with this game. I recently had a battle in this game with my cousin and he whipped me for the most part since he has a level 100 squall and my highest character (cloud) was only level 28 at the time. Although i managed to get my revenge when i beat him with sephiroth ![]()
Batman Arkham Asylum

Man this game came out of nowhere and knocked it out of the park like no other batman game before it. I am still in shock eidos managed to pull it off in such a fantastic way. It has that batman animated feel which i love but with its art ****and design it has its own atmosphere and feel that differentiate it just enough. Ive beaten it almost 100% but im still working on the challenge mode, and before im done i just gotta say killer croc looked awesome.
Muramasa the Demon Blade

I have been waiting for this game for what feels like forever and im glad the time has finally come. The design and artwork of this game is incredible, and it gets me wondering what if nintendo or another company hired this dev team to make one of their big franchises? *hopes for vanillaware kid icarus*
Anyway the game is a load of fun, it gets a bit repetitive at times but the blade crafting and the metroid like overworld keep things interesting as far as im concerned. Ive beaten Kisuke's story and I'm part way through momohime's right now, and the story for each character is pretty deep and the japanese lore is very interesting and awesome.
The Beatles RockBand

So this is my first music/rhythm game, not the first i have played just the first i have ever owned. Overall id say its pretty good, Ive always been a fan of their music and this game definitely does them justice. My parents seem to love just watching me play it since they are huge beatles fans so its cool that they can actually get into it. I still need alot of practice since im not very good but im doing a bit better. My only beef with the game is that there is only 45 songs, it may sound like a bit but the set of songs i have now is already losing its luster a bit, guess ill have to wait till they milk me for the DLC ![]()

Gaming Industry Rant

Activision Your head is far too big
Ok i usually don't rant about stuff too much other than one of my blogs about the dragonball movie and the fact i dislike how many people overuse or misuse the word overrated. But i just gotta say activision is throwing their weight around way too much lately, especially their CEO Bobby Kotick. The fact that almost every game that would have come out this year has cowered in fear of COD modern warfare 2 which in turn has caused them all to move to 2010 just bugs me to no end. These guys are way worse than EA ever was, first off the quality of a lot of their games has seriously gone down and most have now become annual rehashes and follow ups to franchises they can milk. And whats worse is all the badmouthing they have been doing to other companies and developers, like the whole suing EA and double fine for brutal legend, and all their cheap shots at rockband and possibly the worst two are when they claimed they wouldn't support the PS3 anymore and when the CEO said that if he could raise gaming prices even higher that hed do it in a heartbeat if they let him. I have liked some of their games in the past but they have become a creature that is almost unrecognizable and I'm just sick of them treating the industry and their customers like crap. Oh and i don't blame blizzard for this in anyway, they are just unfortunately combined with activision now.
-End Rant
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Collection and other stuff
The Gundam 00 anime is coming to an end on the syfy channel so ill have to find a new anime to get into again
But anyway I got another gundam 00 model recently and i finally finished it, and it turned out i think better than the first one.

This one may look the same since its the same gundam but its a bit larger since its the 1/100 scale and it has much more detail and it has one other aspect that makes it pretty cool.

That's right the GN Drives (solar engines) in the shoulders glow since they have LED lights, a bit of a gimmick but awesome looking non the less IMO.

Yea id say I have enough gundam models to tide me over for a bit now. Here's the two gundam 00 models and my recently acquired wing zero custom model. Oh and for those who haven't experienced gundam wing maybe you should take a look Gundam Wing AMV
Oh and before i forget i decided to update my sig, tell me what you guys think of it

Well anyway that's all, thanks for reading guys and i hope i didn't ramble on too much for you. Have a great weekend everyone ![]()

Top Ten Favorite Games Ever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
10. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Platform: Gameboy Advance
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: January 10, 2005
This is a zelda game that is very under appreciated in my opinion, but i found it to be one of the best. It has awesome 2D visuals that create a fantastic world for link to explore, and he can explore it in more ways than one. The world of the minish people was crafted very well and the story behind the game was just as awesome. This game does everything that A link to the past did right but even better from its music to its exploration etc. Exploring a smaller unseen world was very cool, and the kinstone system was implemented well which added plenty of side-quests to keep you busy. Although the game is very short it is great the entire time and anyone who owns a GBA and is a zelda fan should check this game out, its definitely a great entry into the series.

------------------------------------------------------------
9. Oddworld: Strangers Wrath

Platform: Xbox
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Release Date: January 25, 2005
A strange game as the name implies, although its different for all the right reasons. As a bounty hunter aptly named "stranger" you set out to claim bounties on scum across the land, all the while saving up for a mysterious surgery. The world in this game is truly unique and it completely sucked me in the more i played it, its very dark and organic but the characters within it have a good sense of humor. Using live creatures as ammo added quite a twist on the word live ammo but they all worked well and cohesively created a combat system that mixed first person shooting with third person melee and a bit of stealth in certain areas. The developers of this game (oddworld inhabitants) always deliver top notch stories that usually have clever undertones that imply the dangers of pollution and other problems that we face in the real world. Yet again this is a severely overlooked game that caught my attention and became one of my favorite games ever.

Favorite Theme: Fighting Outlaws
---------------------------------------------------------
8. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

Platform: Nintendo 64
Publisher: Konami
Release Date: April 16, 1998
Although this choice may seem odd to some I happen to like this under appreciated game quite a bit. This is a fantastic game about ninjas in a comical cartoon version of japan. Taking a note from zelda and mario games Mystical Ninja takes the best parts of both by having plenty of platforming and also dungeon exploration along with the ability to acquire new weapons and abilities. You can play as four different ninjas (Goemon, Sasuke, Ebisumaru, and Yae) on their journey to save the land from the evil group known as the peach mountain shoguns who apparently want to turn the world into their own personal concert stage. Throughout the game you can traverse a massive overworld where you can uncover many secrets and meet many characters that will aid or inhibit your progress (especially one guy who tries to rob you every time you walk by him). At first i had overlooked this game but when my cousins convinced me to rent it i was hooked and i loved every comedic moment in the game, it even has a laugh track in the background
One of the games best aspects though is its music which sounds authentically Japanese but very upbeat and memorable for every area which adds to the atmosphere.

Favorite Theme : Gourmet Submarine Castle Medley
-------------------------------------------------------------
7. Shadow of the Colossus

Platform: Playstation 2
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Release Date: October 18, 2005
A game that many people love is one i also happen to enjoy quite a bit. A testament to the ps2's fantastic library SOTC is one its best and rightfully so. Taking down massive creatures feels so realistic and poetic at the same time since its done so well. While there isn't much story it isn't really a problem because the world and the creatures are just so fantastic. With booming music and enormous odds you must take down 16 colossi as a young man with nothing but his horse and his sword (arrows too). Despite being a rather short game it makes every moment memorable and one you'll never forget.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
6. Super Mario 64

Platform: Nintendo 64
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: September 26, 1996
Mario's Jump to 3D is one that has had an impact that will never disappear. Other than the fact that every 3D platformer owes everything to mario 64, nintendo blew my mind with this game. It improved upon everything while maintaining what made mario games good to begin with. Getting every star in this game became an obsession and each new stage offered a variety of challenges that i couldn't wait to meet and exceed. Although the camera was wonky at times the controls were as tight and precise as ever. Fighting bowser was one of the highlights of this game for me, i mean how can you not have a smile on your face when swinging bowser around by his tail for the first time in all of Mario 64's 3D goodness (that's right you cant
).

-------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Subsistence

Platform: Playstation 2
Publisher: Konami
Release Date: March 14, 2006
My favorite PS2 game ever MGS3 is a game that made me realize that game characters can still be very complex and creative even after all these years. As Naked Snake you are sent to the Russian jungle for your next mission "virtuous mission", and what unfolds is a fantastic story the likes of which you have never seen. Before this game I was never much of a fan of stealth games but this game changed my views completely, it was just so much fun trying to figure out the best way to attack a situation instead of running in there guns a blazing like most other games. The game has some of the best boss fights I've ever experienced and they are each interesting and important parts of the story. Snakes relationship with the boss and the other characters really made me sympathize with the character more so than any other character ever. The writing is great and it weaves a complex story of espionage and international warfare while adding some fantasy within it to keep things interesting. And I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who hasn't played the game but the ending of this game was one of the most meaningful endings in any game i have ever played, and its something ill never forget.

4. Final Fantasy VII

Platform: Playstation
Publisher: Square
Release Date: September 7, 1997
As you all know FF7 is a landmark entry for the series and signified its first entry into 3D, and it also made RPG's mainstream. I can still remember the day i bought it too, i had reserved it at sears and i was so excited to pick it up. I knew the game would be good but little did i know how much I would like it. With fully CG cutscenes this game had a presence like no other and as a kid this blew my mind. Its characters were interesting and very different from anything i had seen before and their world seemed limitless in its potential. This was the very first time i actually cared about the characters in a game, and i couldn't wait to see what lied ahead of them on their journey. Sephiroth the main villain struck a very serous cord that no villain in my experience had before, his actions elevated him to a more than just a normal villain which made him something different rather than just a bad guy and more interesting as well (hence my screen name). Although the game has not aged very well i still love every bit of it from its music to all of its memorable moments. And with the many spin offs Square enix has pretty much saturated the market with its FF7 offerings which has also gained the game many haters. But I will always enjoy the game and it remains to this day my favorite RPG ever, haters begone ![]()

Favorite Theme: Main Theme/ World Map Theme 1

3. Super Mario Bros. 3

Platform: Nintendo Entertainment System
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: February 12, 1990
Possibly the greatest Platforming game I've ever played mario 3 has always been one of my fondest gaming memories. The jump from 2 to 3 was enormous and the amount of memorabilia and stuff you would see in magazines was incredible for the time, its just one of those things where you just had to be there to experience it. First off the introduction of so many power ups/ suits was awesome, i especially liked the frog suit even though its rather hard to deal with outside of water. The overworld and multiple paths was something i had never seen before and it made each play through very unique. To this day i still play this game and enjoy the quirky worlds and suits, and i always will.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Super Mario Bros.

Platform: Nintendo Entertainment System
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: October 18, 1985
I had a very difficult time deciding what mario game I liked more, Mario 3 or Mario 1? But in the end I felt I had to put Super Mario Bros. above all other mario games. As with most people this was my first gaming experience, no other game will ever match what this game means to me except maybe number 1
. I beat this game when i was 3 years old and i used to play it till i got blisters on my fingers (no lie), it has had a profound effect on me, and it has changed my life forever. It introduced me to the world of gaming and as a child it took my imagination to places i couldn't even dream of. With tight controls and excellent platforming this game is in my opinion the cornerstone of all gaming and it shaped platforming games for years to come.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Platform: Nintendo 64
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: November 23, 1998
As if you all didn't see this coming a mile away
What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said before, i mean its awesome in every way imaginable. From the scope of the quests to the people/friends and weapons you will gain on the journey. This game came out at a very good time in my life and the memories of playing it and enjoying every minute of it will be with me forever. I even got a tattoo to commemorate this game and the time in my life when it was released. The music is my favorite soundtrack ever, every song is memorable and perfect for setting the tone and ambiance of the area. The Ocarina was implemented great with link learning new themes from characters hes met and the way it was used as a key element of the game, and traveling between time was when the game went from awesome to legendary for me. Nintendo has always made quality games but this game for me is truly gaming nirvana, i don't think any game will ever dethrone it as my favorite. I could go on about the game for days but I think you get the point.

Gundam model first attempt + more collection shots
Well recently I have been pretty obsessed with the new gundam series "mobile suit gundam 00" and I decided that I wanted a figure of one of the new gundams. Easier said than done because most of the already made figures are $40 and up, so as I was looking around I noticed there were a lot of models available for the series and since it said they were snap together instead of the kind you would have to glue together I figured what the hell ill give it a shot. So I ordered a relatively inexpensive set of models, one is Gundam 00 and the other is the Raiser attachment that turns from a ship to a sort of upgrade attachment for the 00 gundam. Below is a picture of the gundam's box (i couldn't find a pic for the other model) and the scale/size these models is 1/144

Once I got the models and the gundam pens, (which are like paint pens but for gundam models) I set out to work on my models. It took me a few days before I was actually ready to do them because I wanted a full day to finish them but I was always busy with one thing or another and my fear of messing them up while building them was also bugging me in the back of my mind.

So when the day came and I actually built them, it was pretty fun. I spent all day on it too which I never thought i would, and because of that my eyes hurt from looking at little parts all day and everything was out of focus. I didn't have to paint too many parts since some of the bigger ones were already painted but all the details and small color touch ups weren't too hard to do.
One part that gave me a bit of trouble was the V shape above the gundams forehead, I had to cut off little nubs from the tips of them since they had a bit of plastic overhang on them that made them look blocky instead of sharp how their supposed to look, but amazingly I managed to cut them just right.
But after all that I was surprised how decent both models actually turned out, so I thought you guys might wanna check out the finished product of my first attempt at building and painting a gundam model, let me know what you think (you can be honest, well not too honest
). sorry for some of the bad quality pics, my camera sucks
Front close up

Gundam 00 and the Raiser ship attachment

00 side view

Raiser model by itself

00 Gundam and raiser on my shelf

Combined OO Raiser

Combined 00 Raiser back view

Not too shabby for a first attempt, but being as picky as i am i still see flaws I could have fixed but oh well id probably mess it up if i tinkered around with them too much.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and before I forget again here are a few pictures of my collection that I never got a chance to put up.
Just some FF figures, zelda pins, and a kunai

some naruto mini figures and Guyver figures

And last but not least my big godzilla figures, to give you a sense of scale the biggest one in the picture is half my height

and as always thanks for reading everyone.
