Gattica anyone?
I just finished the movie Gattica. Aside from the fact that the props didn’t look at all futuristic, and the horrible ending, it was a pretty good movie. Makes you think about not only racism, but what our future is going to be like. Very well acted, although the end made no sense. After the two went swimming for the last time, it all went down from there. When it’s over, part of you is confused, part happy, and part sad and depressed. Although some of it you could see coming a mile away.
The 10th Kingdom
WOW! I just watched the 10th kingdom again, if you haven’t seen it you should because it’s awesome!

Nice beats for the club scene, but their slower stuff I can do without. Some of the music just makes you want to dance, like ‘Church of hot addiction’ and ‘Send my love to the dance floor I’ll see you in hell (hey Mr. DJ)’ But some of it makes you want to skip ‘Being from jersey means you never have to say you’re sorry’. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting treadmill music or something they can dance to, but be warned; avoid the slow ones!

I was enthralled the minute I heard ‘Sister’ pump through the stereo, I was hooked when I heard ‘I don’t want to fall in love’. She wants revenge has an awesome new sound. Like My chemical romance meets Muse. Techno, funky, hard core, something you can dance to. Not to mention the video for ‘Tear you apart’, gotta love that deep dark meaning. A song for all occasions.

I LOVE Panic! The first song I heard was Lying, which eventually led to the others. I started spreading the word, and pretty soon, what do you know?! Everyone’s listening. I love the new sound, it’s so different from everything else out there. I also love the idea of splitting the cd in two, so that the first half could be in one style, while the second half was the other. Their design may soon get copied, but they are the originals.

No matter what age you are, and no matter what mood you’re in when you hear this song, it always brings you back to the happy times of your childhood and puts a smile on your face. This is one of those songs that you can relate to. It’s about someone who feels alone in the world, and tortured. But knowing that someday, the world is going to get better. It’s about reminiscing about the good times, the best times in our lives. From playing outside, to that dumb poster on the wall that we loved so much. The song is the same for everyone, maybe it wasn’t a star wars poster, maybe it was a Beatles poster, (depending on when you were a kid) maybe we lost a loved one, and needed to know that the world wasn’t over, but that things will get better in time.

There may have been a time, when Carey’s songs were good. When she did more with her voice, and when the writers actually did something. But that time’s gone now, and we are left with a washed up singer. Her songs only repeat the same words over and over, leaving one really annoying song. Example: Shake it of. That song’s really just a contest, who can say shake it off the most in two minutes. Her videos also leave a lot to be desired, she simply flails and doesn’t dance at all. She thinks she’s Madonna, but at least Madonna comes up with new material.
