First of all after 2002, archive have released 2 more albums.Have made the Michel Vaillant OST in 2003 and released Noise in 2004 which was my personal, and for many others, best album of the year.In my opinion archive have taken altenative/indie music a step further with noise and its a pity this site does not mention it. This site needs new partners i think....

Cranberries has been one of these groups that when they started you thought that they would be another one hit wonder group. Then, after a year or two you hear another album and realise that you also like this album and begin to like them more. Then after a year the same thing happens with another album. You see cranberries are a group that makes you their supporter and fan, through their constant course in the music industry. The voice of Dolores O'Riordan and their sound is very distinctive and has taken rock music a step further.Respect.

They are one of my personal favourites and because their biography is poor i would like to add some things.Named after the hour before sunrise in Spanish – somehow fitting for a group from the far reaches of Norway – Madrugada took their first tentative steps playing Rolling Stones and Stooges covers and were also heavily influenced by The Gun Club, The Cramps, Joy Division, Suicide and The Velvet Underground. Its members are singer Sivert Høyem, bassist Frode Jacobsen and guitarist Robert Burås. Starting out in the small town of Stokmarknes in the north of Norway, they began under the name Abbey's Adoption in 1993, and decided to move to Oslo in 1995 to concentrate on their music. Their breakthrough came with the New Depression EP in the spring of 1999.With their first album Industrial Silence Madrugada’s panoramic, cinematic, melancholic sound and their broody, moody tracks managed to get the attention of alternative rock fans through out Europe. They promoted second album The Nightly Disease throughout Europe in 2001 and recorded Grit – and the mighty Majesty – in Berlin with PJ Harvey producer Head in 2002. Majesty became the group’s signature song, received considerable airplay across Europe throughout 2003, and was even featured on BBC stations Radio One and 6 Music in the UK.In 2004, Madrugada worked at Sound City in Los Angeles with famed producer George Drakoulias (Tom Petty, The Jayhawks, Primal Scream) and mixer/engineer David Bianco (Teenage Fanclub, Mick Jagger) on The Deep End, their fourth album which came out last year and also featured collaborations with Angelo Badalamenti, cult director David Lynch’s composer of choice, on the ominously beautiful Hold On To You. Up until know i have seen madrugada 5 times live and every time they seem better. To be continued....

Industrial Silence is at least among the 20 best debut albums in my book. Sivert's voice is as it comers from the underground and gives the album the indie characteristic its music has.Songs like strange color blue, shine, higher are true diamonds. The record can be accused of a monotony but you have to decide that this is the distinctive sound of madrugada, either you like it or not.

When I first heard Ten and with the peak that Nirvana were having at that time I realished that something was changing in the rock music scene. Pearl Jam were Innovators and creators of a music scene that today has a very big percent of supporters of the Indie, grundge, alterantive, rock, even metal scenes.Their music speaks deeply into you and their songs are most recognisable, with Vedder's distinctive voice.
