Pixies Nov. 20th Chicago
The single greatest concert experience I've ever had. They were so tight, every song came to life. The audience and band interacted seamlessly and I know this as I was in the front row. I locked eyes with Frank Black, he smirked at me as I did my bobble head-style moshing. HE SMIRKED AT ME. I'm still feeling that concert high and it will probably last for the rest of my life. Me and my buds decided to wear suits to the show. It was worth it, even if my finest sportcoat is now lathered in excessive amounts of sweat and tears. "Hey" and "Gouge Away" were the highlights for me from the Doolittle album. Having said that, "Into the White" completely stole the show for me. That guitar build-up is the most intense thing I've ever heard, it sounds like the hands of the ocean banging pieces of metal fervently. And then, they closed with... with a curveball, "Velouria". I was expecting "Where is My Mind?" or "Gigantic", they ended the show after two encores with a personal favorite. I sang to a woman I've never met before in my entire life and she sang back, as we bounced along to a number of songs. It was a religious experience, communal. Considering my parents were fans and they used to play them around the house, it made the experience all the more personal. If you ever have to chance to see the best band in the world, do not miss out on it. Not even if you're dying, this is really a live show that you have to witness.

Coming Soon to A Theater Near You...
En Octubre!!!
So, yes, I've sold out to the wonderful world of the "end of the decade" lists. Come October, expect a film section... soon to be followed by television, literature, and music. And maybe, a few curveballs? Although, you never know. ![]()
I love you all. Toodles, ladies and gents.
"End of Kanye West speech"
P.S. I'm not moving to Oregon. I sort of love my city and there was always a small chance that I wouldn't be venturing over there anyways.
P.S.S. Also, if any of you are wondering why I'm excited/hyper/brimming with love for all... I met a girl!
P.S.S.S. Jesus, I sound like I'm a teenager again. Anyways, life is going well. I don't mean to boast, I'm just in a puppy love phase.
I Became A Prostitute
If anyone's interested. The Twilight Sad's yet to be released sophomore effort is currently available for streaming use on the fat cat website. After a few listens, I dig it. The substantial amount of feedback suits their sound well. My cat is enjoying it too. It looks as though she is bobbing her head along to the sound of the music. I found it humorous. I might post a video.

Anyways, I've been watching Dr. Katz quite a bit as of late. During high school, I became a religious viewer. It spawned many fits of laughter in myself and my friend. I picked up the Complete Series a year or so ago but never got around to watching it. The humor hasn't aged. The comedian/patients leave me in stitches every time. And Dave Chappelle's session might be the single greatest moment in the history of television. Plus, H Jon Benjamin is god.
Game News: Arkham Asylum and Fat Princess

Finally, a game in which the Dark Knight soars. Literally and figuratively. I'm about halfway in or so and it has been an atmospheric session, indeed. Although, I can safely state that the Joker overshadows the main protagonist. Yes, Mark Hamill has a more profound impact on this title than anything else. Still, if you're a fan of Batman... rent or purchase it!

For $15, you cannot go wrong. A game that revels in simplicity yet offers a multiplayer experience that will rival just about any triple-A release of 2009. Do not, I repeat, do not spend money on Fat Princess for the campaign. The campaign is a means to master the fundamental controls and nothing more. The bulk of this game can be found within a humorous and strategic multiplayer component. CAPTURE THE PRINCESS!!!
Forget the Night Ahead
The Twilight Sad's sophomore effort is probably my most anticipated release from the second half of 2009. "I Became A Prostitute" is easily the greatest achievement of their career. Beautiful, feedback-laden melodies with spoken and howled vocals. Anyways, another reminder of sorts from your humble narrator.
