ROJJ Cancellation..

So because of my mad love for ASP I'm devoting a blog to the cancellation of her "new" baby- "The Return of Jezebel James". Fox just cancelled it yesterday- after a 3 episode run. Uh, can you say rude? First off, they put it on on Fridays..and then they cancel it after 3 episodes?? Sure it wasn't GG but it did have Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose on board, so how bad could it possibly suck?

Ya know, after the supreme being that was 'Gilmore Girls' ended [freakin' Alexis], I knew it was going to be hard for ASP to write another hit show, but honestly, Fox didn't even give her a chance to get the show off the ground.

Amy Sherman Palladino is perhaps one of the greatest TV writers our generation has ever seen, as evidenced in "Gilmore Girls", but with the swift ending of her new show you gotta question whether the old saying may be true-

..Lightning doesn't strike twice.

I wouldn't be so concerned about lightning not being able to strike twice, rarer things have happened. However FOX seems damn sure to continue on it's pattern of cancelling shows before they are even off the ground. I understand that happens from time to time with new pilots but FOX doesn't just cut new pilots, they cut hit shows that become insanely popular despite cancellation. Just look at Firefly. Had Palladino's show been another lightning strike FOX may have cancelled it anyway. Not that it's any consolation of course. But hey who knows what ASP might have up her sleeve next.

omgosh. that sucks!!! sure, it mightn't have been Gilmore Girls, but TV networks never give good shows a chance - its so frustrating!!!!! Maybe this setback will make ASP more determined to make a GG movie?!?!?! haha, wishful thinking

FOX is worse than The CW for pulling/canceling shows. I only watched half an episode of this show, but it was good, I guess. The ratings weren't up to par, they had to pull it, they had no choice. They could stick a House or Bones repeat in that slot and get better ratings. (No offense)

I enjoyed the half episode I watched. I wish ASP luck in the future to create wonderful shows!
