Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Just dawned on me that I've been waiting for months for some good single player tactical shooters and have been disappointed by the reported shortness each new release. COD Modern Warfare, GRAW2 and a few others. Well along comes Flashpoint Dragon Rising my next great hope. Reports on it say it's full of glitches. Pretty good in spots but just too many issues. Of course the single player portion people blew through pretty quick from what I've heard and read.

I think I may have forgot how to use my controller.

You know what? I think I'll go back in time and pick up Rainbow Six Vegas 2. What the heck, it's cheap and it's similar to the original Rainbow Six Vegas which is one of my favorites. I didn't try it before because I was so sure I would be buying all these new games why pay to play something so similar to a game I already played?

I read some reviews of it and it's got some sort of equipment/weapons upgrade you can do in single player offline mode. Imagine that, something different in single player mode! So anyway If I don't get sidetracked into something else I'll pick it up and blow the dust off my Xbox360. I think it still works...

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising

Well it's out and some reviews are in. Looks like for the most part to be an OK game. It's getting 7.5 to 8.0 as far as I can see. It's got some technical glitches and some low tech graphics in spots but not enough to keep me from picking it up.

I get the feeling that the people that are complaining the most are the ones who what to fly though it in a hurry then get on the multi-player and get some online games going. Fine for them.

It appears though that the idea with the campaign mode is to be a bit more methodical in your approach and to use good tactics to get through most of it. I'm not too concerned about great graphics where you can pick up each leaf on a tree. I'm looking more for solid gameplay, good AI and realistic feel. Don't get me wrong, I like a good tank blast and loud shooting action as much as the next guy! It just needs to add to the gameplay.

I haven't picked it up yet, may wait for a price drop... then again I don't have much to do this weekend and I haven't seen a "honey do" list yet!

Back to Gaming

Only a matter of days before Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising will be available. I've been looking forward to this game for quite some time. It's seems that Codemasters may have a great game on their hands here. Ubisoft seems to keep delaying GRAW and Rainbow to the point of frustration that I can't deal with anymore.

Let's just hope that the Flashpoint single player game has some length to it.

Delays, Delays more Delays

Great, just great. Splinter Cell: Conviction and The next Ghost Recon game both from Ubisoft, have been delayed. Conviction will now ship first quarter 2010, Ghost Recon 2010-2011. So much for dusting off the 360. Oh well, maybe something of interest to me will come out between now and them. I'm still looking forward to Flashpoint: Dragoon Rising, by Codemasters. Hope it doesn't get delayed.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Well this game seems to have some potential. From the looks of things it's supposed to have a pretty good single player (yeah, I'm still complaining about games with lack of really good single player mode). I have not seen any gameplay video of it yet, just CG video clips and action sequences, but it is a tactical shooter and Codemasters has a pretty good reputation with this type of game.

I sure hope they do it right and we get a decent game out of it. My Xbox 360 is becoming a dust collector. I am in need of a good game with a little strategy added to it and some realism thrown in. Maybe this one will be it.

This is music at it's simplist and most endearing. Alan Jackson has a smooth style that is just a pleasure to listen to. This music shows his true musical roots are in his deep spiritual belief in our Lord Jesus Christ. He sings with a love feeling that comes through in all the performances. I can see myself getting this and listening to it on the way to and from church. It is wonderful music for the ears, mind and the soul. Outstanding.

About Me

My first experiences with games was on the PC. Quake, Quake II, Star Wars: Dark Forces and MechWarrior 2 were some of my favorites. Then I moved on to the Xbox after I got one for my son. It was so much fun I felt I had to get one for myself. Now I have an Xbox 360! Yeah, I'm hooked.
