Well, my friend's gameplan about getting a Wii changed overnight as I figured. Luckily I was able to get the car early that morning, and there was no argument from my mom.
So I got up to our work place around 6:20am, and met my friend. I came here instead of going to Gamecrazy cause I've found out the number of Wiis Gamecrazy received was 12 and I was 13th on the list. Quite the hassle if you ask me. Anyway, luckily we talked to the electronics department manager a few days earlier, and he'd promise that he'd hold 2 of the 3 Wiis the store received. Corporate had this crazy idea of having people that come in that morning and draw tickets for the Wii. The department manager wasn't too happy with that idea, and thought giving them to us was better.
After we got there, we learned they couldn't ring us up until the store opened at 8am. Well, I was willing to wait in the back in the lounge, but my friend wasn't so we drove around to look at other stores like Meiers and Walmart. I picked up Twilight Princess at Walmart and we headed back to the store around 7:20am. I guess waiting in the back should have been what we've done cause there was around four people waiting outside. We should have faked that we were coming in for work, but we didn't, and i felt a little twinge of guilt about what we were doing, plus, didn't want to be jumped by two middle aged women and a old man as we were walking out the store.
We drove to the back of the store, gave a call to the manager to let us in, we drove back around and was let in the store, but we were concerned about the now five people standing outside watching us go in the store. The manager lied and told them that the stored didn't get any Wiis which wasn't true. Thankfully, they all let, and none hung around to see if we came out with one. Just to be on the safe side, My friend had his put in a vacuum cleaner box, and mine put in a plain brown box.
8am finally arrived and we hurried to the front checkouts and paid for them with a little annoyance from a fellow employee. He asked if we got PS3s since he knows that we're big gamers. When we said no, he said he thought we were hardcore. I wanted to reply, but didn't think it was worth wasting my breath. Hurried home, hooked that bad boy up, and fired up Zelda since that was the only game i had, but later picked up Trama Center and Red Steel at gamestop with the credit I had. I was off that day, and my total playing time on the Wii was 11 hours and 30 minutes. More so than when I got the 360.
Let me be the first to say, I don't want to go through that mess of getting a new console like that ever again. I still feel a little guilty about those people, but screw them, they were probably sent by their kids, to get them. I know the Wii is a hard system to find now, but I'm sure more will be available in Feb. and March.
Well, here I am waiting for Gamecrazy to open to pick up my already paid for copy of Lost Planet. They better not tell me that they didn't get it in cause it should have been shipped to all stores around tuesday and wednesday. Even my store got it with me pricing them, tagging them and putting them in the back. If they tell me they don't have them or enough to cover all the reserves, I'll tell them to tell their shipper that they suck, and get my money so I can go elsewhere to pick it up. Hopefully, that won't be the case, but I'm not holding my breath cause in this world, there is no guarantees about anything unless it's in writing, even then, there's doubt.
Man, I can hear the march of time slowly going, so i guess instead of counting the seconds and minutes, after I get off the computer, I'll jump on Guitar Hero 2 and jam out and then get some RPGing going with Tales to pass the time. Well, see you later, be safe, don't do drugs, and good luck to those still searching for a Wii.
