Okami is finally mine!

At long last, after a year and a half of waiting, Okami is out. And it is mine.

It's absolutely amazing; not only are the graphics pure eye-candy, but the gameplay is smooth and fluid as well. Battles are a blast, the sound's great, even the gibberish voices are fun to listen to... although many would disagree with me there. But really, this is even better than I thought it would be, which is saying a LOT.

I believe I was the first person to pick up Okami at my local Gamestop today, as we got there five minutes after they had called us and said it was in. XD Talk about speedy. Anyway, I also got the pre-order goodie called a 'Buddha Board' - which I haven't tried out yet - and the strategy guide on top of that.

Their faces were priceless. "Didn't we just call you?!"

Pfft. When I want my Okami, I get my Okami /fast/.

I'm about five hours into the game now at Agata Forest. It's... just... wow. I had a tough time trying to pry myself away from my PS2, but sleep is required for optimum gaming performance tomorrow.

Goodnight and go snag a copy of Okami before I hunt you all down and shoot you!

Not much to say...

Well, I got the Okami demo (a good while ago; I never made a new blog post!). It'd take me forever to describe how wonderful it is, but I'll just leave it at 'fantastic'.

Sadly, the release date has been pushed back to November now. I sure hope they don't do it again, or else I'll probably have to get an import copy. Which I can't do anyway. But whatever. I'll try to be patient.

All of the carpet in the house has been replaced, we put some new fabric on the couch, fixed up some other stuff and hopefully we're done with the whole 'house' thing for a while. Oh, and summer is here, blahblahblah, it's roasting hot and I swear I'm going to melt soon if we don't get some cool weather.

And hurricane season is upon us! Hurrah!

Tile and fumes and sprinklers, oh my!

Hahaha. Exactly as the title says. We just ripped up the carpet near the back door and replaced it with a sort of reddish-orange tile, which looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. They also replaced the laundry room floor with the stuff. Okay, so that was the tile part of the title.

On to the fumes. Since they have to cut the tile to make it fit (duh), there are these lovely smells of freshly-cut flooring floating through the house in every single room. Trust me, it isn't a good smell. More like... sickening to the point of not being hungry even if you haven't eaten anything at all since you woke up. I woke up around six hours ago, so.... yeah. I managed to choke down some Triscuits (a sort of wheat cracker, rather good) with cheese melted on top. Actually tasted alright.

Now for the sprinklers. I live in Florida, and it's sort of a drought right now, and they also say it will be like this all through summer - the good thing that comes of it is less hurricanes. There are numerous sprinklers scattered throughout the yard at the moment, and it's very dry outside. The only question I have left is this.... DID WE EVEN HAVE WINTER THIS YEAR?!!?! The lowest temperature it got to was 27 I think, but that was in the middle of the night for about three days. It's been kinda hot out this week, yuck. I can't stand hot weather, I need cold air noooowwwww!

On a happier note, I'm finally going to get my hands on an Okami demo this Tuesday. That's right, two days from now. I've waited since April last year, so it'd better be good (although my friends on here say it's fantastic and beyond words, so I'm pretty excited). I may not sound like it, but I'm jumping out of my own skin with happiness and joy - I've waited so long, each month has crawled by at snail-speed, and finally.... FINALLY.... I can get to play Okami. Heeheehee, I know, I don't really have much of a life.

See ya later. I'm hoping to be able to pry myself away from the TV with an iron crowbar from playing Okami on Tuesday to write another blog entry, but don't count on it.

Whoops.

Whoops! I completely forgot about my blog thingy. Ah, well. It's not the end of the world, is it? -Checks outside- Nope. Still nice and sunny outside. BLEH.

Anyway, I've just gotten back into the 'obsessed over Okami' mood, and now introducing my newest one... Kingdom Hearts 2. I have played and beaten the first one all the way through, loved it, and then stopped playing it. When I first heard about Kingdom Hearts 2, I was excited for a while, but then it died down since I didn't know what worlds would be in it, what would they change about it, etc...

That all changed one day when I got my PS2 magazine in the mail and saw the tiny little sentence that said 'there might be a Lion King world in it' or whatever. 'Scuse my poor brain, I slept a little too late today. Anyhow, I got all excited again, blah, blah, blah, and, as usual, it eventually died down. But then, a few months later, I went to a Kingdom Hearts fansite that gave constant updates on anything and everything Kingdom Hearts. Weeeell, I just happened to pop in on the update that included screenshots of the Lion King world. I think something snapped inside of my head or whatever just at that moment, because I've been hunting for more screenshots, information and videos ever since.

What I'm trying to say is, is that I'll be the first one where I live to buy Okami and Kingdom Hearts 2, mark my words! I will be WAITING for my game store to open, and, if I could, I'd probably spend the night outside of it. But I can't, so I won't.

Okami and Kingdom Hearts 2. I'll be laughing insanely behind your backs as I, KarleKat, play the two awesome games and you're stuck in traffic/stuck in line/stuck somewhere. TTFN. ('TTFN' means 'Tah-tah-for-now' I can't remember how to spell ta-ta. Is that how you spell it? Ugh. I can't remember, I stayed up too late and slept too late. Yes, I like Winnie-the-Pooh, and I don't care whether you think it's immature or not.)

Sly 3 Demo

I went to Gamestop and reserved a copy of Sly 3 for when it releases. I also got a free demo of it, and let me share with you a sort of mini-review...
First off, I went to versus mode to check it out. The voices were TERRIBLE, they didn't even sound like the actual characters, but we all know they'll fix that in the final game.
Lemonade Brawl - Not bad. Gets boring after a few times, but you can control Bentley in his new wheelchair... not bad. I liked the Lemonade Brawl.
The Guru Level - I know that's not the title of it, but I forgot. Anyway, it was alright, as you could turn into a rock and stuff... kind of fun, but not really extraordinary.
Bi-Plane Level: Hated it. Simple as that. I HATED it. Boring, the controls were awful, I want unlimited ammo... yeah. I hated that one. Actually, I hate plane levels in general unless it's Starfox.
So there. That's my mini-review.
Anyway, not much has happened in the past few days...
But today is the anniversary day I adopted my cat, Morris! We got three candles (Since he's now three years old) and stuck them on a can of his favorite squishy cat food. Then we opened the can up and let him eat his 'cake'.
I know, he's a spoiled cat, but it's fun.

Sly 3! Sly 3!

Sly 3! Sly 3! Sly 3! -Ends chanting-
Haha, sorry. I'm just obsessed with it right now. I own the other two Sly Cooper games, and am eagerly awaiting the third one.... I even pre-ordered it. I'm so desperate.... so very, very desperate.
Well, I guess after beating the first two games five times 100% of the way through, then yes, I am obsessed.
Played some more Shadow of the Colossus... I know that demo from the lake to the colossus now, up and down. I've played it a lot.
I've also finished the Legend of Kay demo about four times... -Sigh- It's just not enough.

I did it on purpose this time! Honest!

I didn't forget to write a journal entry last night. I skipped it because nothing happened. So I'm just going to do journal entries on days that have stuff happen..
I to the 'secret' area in the Shadow of the Colossus demo... that lake thing. That was cool, and the water effects when you dive down are really neat! -Pets Agro the horse- I like the horse.
So anyway, I just messed around with the Shadow of the Colossus. At one point I reached the limits of the demo area, and the game crashed. I just restarted my system and I'm playing it again.

I want to buy that game. Badly.

And Okami.

Demo

I played some more Legend of Kay on the demo disk.
Other than that...
Nothing really happened. 0.0'

Oh, but I DID find out that people will get to have Okami demos at TGS. Not fair!!

YAY! -Squeals-

My PlayStation Magazine came today, complete with Legend of Kay and Shadow of the Colossus demos! -Points at TombRaider and waves the magazine everywhere-
Ahem. Shadow of the Colossus was very good, graphics were stunning, and the boss fight was a little difficult since I kept losing my grip on the colossus thing, but eventually I defeated it.
Kinda sad watching it topple over and crash onto the ground, but hey, life is tough.

I also tried Legend of Kay. It wasn't that bad, I thought it was pretty fun, fighting the rats and bouncing from ledges...
We also ran errands today. The gas prices here are skyrocketing, and ALL of the gas stations are out of gas. On top of that, there's a $20 limit for each vehicle. We filled up last night, though, before all of this happened.

Not much else to say.

Gack!

I have done it once more. I forgot. x.x

Well, honestly, there wasn't that much to say anyway, so I guess I'm just taking up space. I played a few Versus matches in StarFox Assault to unlock the last thing. I have played 178 matches so far, I need to play 230 or 260 to get the last stage... so close and yet so far. You know how boring it is to sit there for hours, playing versus matches against something that doesn't even move? 0.0' -Gags-

Sorry!

I forgot to do a journal entry last night. I was tired. Pretend this is from yesterday.

Well, I got my computer drawing tablet! I LOVE it! I can't stop scribbling away at it, doodling on MS Paint, and everything else. AND it comes with a gigantic 'paint package', with Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, etc., it's AWESOME!
So. Anyway, other than that, not much happened yesterday.

What a poor journal entry. x.x

Well, today was great!

Not.

Well, I spent an hour and a half doing an art trade with someone, and it took a while since she didn't have a ref pic or anything, and only described it to me. So I had fun. x.x
Anyway, I did school, blah, blah, blah, played some more Harvest Moon... um... not much else. But I DID read some more Eldest, and I got to mess around on the computer.
My days are so interesting, aren't they?
Believe me, it'll be a lot more interesting tomorrow....

Harvest Moon

I played Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life most of the day, and read the book 'Eldest' between that. Oh, and my cat just gained another pound. x.x What am I going to do?! He won't lose weight, we even have him on diet food, we play with him every day and run him around the house, but he WON'T... LOSE.... WEIGHT!! -Chokes-
The vet is gonna kill us.

Grrrr...

Today I went on a seven-hour trip, or eight-hour, just to go to a special place to eat. With my grandparents. It was a little fun, but, since I hate to travel or go anywhere, I wasn't that thrilled...
Anyway, we left hom at around 12:40 PM, and we came back at 8:15 PM. Nothing to do in the car 99% of the time. Boring. The food was great, but for six hours we sat in the car.
Driving.
On and on.
And on.
But on a happier note, I'm going to go shopping on Tuesday with my mom! Fweeee! You know why I am actually GLAD to go shopping? Well, because my mom said we can stop by a computer store and look for drawing tablets! YAY! Finally! Now I can draw on MS Paint and actually enjoy it...
The tablet I have been researching is a Wacom A5, I think, and it comes with a paint program as well as your basic tablet stuff.
Tuesday seems so far off, though... -Heavy sigh-
Also, I became lunch for a mosquito. It itches, gah.... I can't stand it! Grrrr...

P.S. The trip TO the restaurant was about an hour and a half. But my dad was driving and we had to tour all of the damage from the last hurricane. Oh joy.

Yay! Finally!

Yay! Finally, it's the end of the week! -Gasp- I can't believe it! Free from school for TWO WHOLE DAYS! -Laughs-
Well, actually, school isn't that bad for me, it's really pretty interesting. Except for math. I hate math. Have I told you this already? I think I have.
My book came in the mail today! YAY!
But... my mom got to the mailbox first. I was typing on the computer when my mom peeked around the corner and waved the book in my face. -Sigh- Still, when she left to go run a few errands, I snagged the book and have started reading it. She'll read it when I've finished.

So. You see? Not all of my entries are boring. About 80% of them are, but this is one of the more interesting ones.
I'm still impatiently waiting for the Legend of Kay to come late in September... it's taking so long! -Whines- The U.K. already has it, why not America? Why is it taking so loooong??
Oh well. 'Good things come to those who wait.'
......... But it sure is a long wait, in my opinion. And two other games that I want come out at the same time as Legend of Kay, what am I going to do?! Clone myself and buy two other TV's?!
Nah. Forget that thought. I'll just.... um.... um.... teach my cat to play videogames.
Wait. He doesn't have thumbs.
Forget the whole thing, I can wait! Bye for now...

Another day, nothing new

Nothing new today... I played some more Jak and Daxter. I love that game.

Anyway, I know you're probably wondering why I keep a journal when there's nothing to say. Well, I have an answer for you...
It's a journal. It's free. It's there. I can type in it.
That's why.

Besides, I love talking about nothing.... about hating shopping.... about videogames.... yeah.
Today: Woke up at 10:00 AM. Ate a tiny breakfast, since it's close to lunch. Did some school. Ate lunch. Did the rest of school. From 2-5 I did both computer and videogames, and read some books again. At 6 I ate supper. Took a shower at 7. Free time from 8-9:30 PM. Going to bed now.
So. How's that? -Chuckles- Interesting, eh?
Bye for now!

Why, oh why...?

Pretend this is from yesterday. I was too tired to do it last night.

The new book in the three-part series, from Eragon, is going to get here soon, because I pre-ordered it. It's called 'Eldest'. Whoever gets to the mailbox first gets to read it first, and I intend to be the one to dash down and get it. -Grins-
Nothing amazing happened yesterday, but I did, however, got to do four long pages of math. Bleh. I hate math... I'm good at it, when I want to be, but otherwise I hate math. It's so boring. Why couldn't there be a writing thing, or an art thing, or a reading thing in place of math every day?!
Enough with my ranting and raving.
Oh, and I have three new scratches on my arm. From my cat. His art project is seeing how many times he can decorate my arm at midnight until I die.

But I love him anyway.

I played some of the first Jak and Daxter game, and, even though I've beaten it, I think it's still kinda fun. Riding on the flut-flut is cool.

This journal entry is fairly more interesting than my previous ones, so that's progress.

Why is it taking so long?

Nothing new happened today, I just did school, went online and played some videogames...
But anyway, I am so impatient for The Legend of Kay!!! I pre-ordered it, it's supposed to come at the end of September, but time crawls by so slowly....
Oh, and then, I also want Sly 3 (Badly), Neopets The Darkest Faerie, Shadow of the Colossus (Have to rent it first), Okami and Kingdom Hearts 2. I think there's one more, though.
I'm gonna be broke. 0.0'

Actually, today wasn't that boring.

I forgot to do a journal entry last night, so pretend this is from yesterday.

My grandma spent the night, so we got to play a game of Catopoly. Catopoly is like Monopoly, only with a cat theme to it, etc...
Anyway, I played some Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando, and tried to get some more skill points for the unlockables. No such luck, because, as it just so happens, I stink at getting Skill Points. -Annoyed sigh-
I also went on the computer and messed around, mostly looking up cheats on some of my videogames, grumbling about how hot the weather is and why couldn't I live in Alaska (I would live in an igloo for the rest of my life if I could just live in Alaska, or somewhere cold!).
Ah, well. Dreams are dreams, and I'm stuck in a state that has long, hot summers and short, cool winters. Oh, and another reason why I like cold weather, is because there are no bugs. -Grins-
I guess there's nothing else to say.

Nothing New At All.

Today nothing new happened, but I played some of The Lion King. It's a fun little game to pass the time.
But it doesn't pass enough time.
I need something to do... anything.... I'd eat an Amaterasu plushie, if I had one, just to do something!
Well, actually, maybe I wouldn't. -Pets the imaginary Amaterasu plushie-

Oh well. But anyway, I just stayed on the computer or played Sly Cooper. And Spyro... the first one.
I guess I'll just stay bored until Okami releases...................
