So, I now have a 360...

I come home, and I find a 360 lying on the stairs. I wish all nice things waited for me on the stairs.

I knew for some time that I'd be getting one, but I wasn't sure of the circumstances that led to me getting one. Actually, it was through my brother's girlfriend that we now have a 360. So it's here, still in its box...I also got some games with it: Ridge Racer 6, Lego Star Wars, and the two pack-in games, Live Arcade Unplugged and GRAW.

I need some recommended games, so just throw them out there. If you want to know the types of games I like, just check my collection or my reviews. I already have my eye on Virtua Fighter 5, so there's no need to recommend that game to me. You can also recommend some Live Arcade games, too...now that I think about it, I can get Puzzle Quest, but I'm waiting for the PC version, and I already own the DS version. Anyway, fire away!

Congratulations. I{d suggest Gears of War, The Orange Box. Ace Combat 6 is a favorite for a lot of people too.

Gears of War, huh? I'll check that one out. Not really interested in the Orange Box...not on the 360, anyway. Never played an Ace Combat game, but it's been around since the PS1 days, hasn't it?

Yeah started out on the PS1. I am horrible at combat flight games so I've only watch others play and it's pretty cool. Ace Combat has a story thrown in which most flight sims don't which gives it extra appeal.

Congrats mate. Gears of War. Assassins Creed, VF 5, COD 4 are all good titles.

Dammit...I got the three red lights that everyone talks about. The worst part is, I just bought VF5 and didn't get a chance to play it.

Argh! The damn 3Rod better call MS if your 360 is in warranty. Also my advise would be that you should keep your console well ventilated and make sure there are no problems with the voltage.

I got my 360 back and it's working great now. I actually got it back about a week later...it seems the servicing centre isn't too far from where I live. Now to dig into VF5!

Definitely get Bioshock. One of the best games I've played in the last 5 years and believe me - I've played alot. Looks like you enjoy RPG's, so I'd highly recommend Mass Effect. Shooters? COD4 (fun single player, amazing multi), Ghost Recon 2, Orange Box. Skip Halo 3, online community is absolutely horrific.

About Me

I've been into video games for almost 20 years--17, to be exact. I guess I should feel really old, but I don't! My first console was a Sega Master System...I still have it, and it still works. My SMS game collection needs to be restored to what it was in the past--due to a mistake I made, I lost almost every single game I had. My dad wasn't happy at all... Gaming is a passion for me, but mine is such that I want to create them, as well as play them. In fact, I currently have a game in development--I even have a design document! However, development has been halted because it's only me working on my game at the moment. The project originally consisted of two people--myself (a programmer) and an artist. The artist has since moved on (which is a shame, because he's damn good). The game I'm working on needs more than one person. If you want to know more about my game, contact me! I've been visiting Gamespot since 1998, I think. I've contributed plenty of reader reviews to GS, so the current review list you see now is not all I have done. I began posting in the forums in 1999. My very first post, which was about emulation, resulted in lengthy, interesting debates. Not bad for a first timer, eh? After having been around for a while, I was chosen as a moderator, which lasted for a few years. I appreciate the efforts the current mods make to keep the forums clean, because I was in the trenches too. It's usually a thankless job, so someone's gotta say something! After more than a year of disappearing from the forums (but not the site, if you've been paying attention), I've made my somewhat subdued return. I don't know how often I'll be around, but I'll pop in from time to time. I miss the days when Alex Watchtower was the object of everyone's agitation. Those were the days...
