PROOF: Bad spelling & grammar is a Terms of Service violation on GameFAQs

Unbelievable. Bad spelling and grammar is now an "unspoken" ToS/ToU violation on GameFAQs. You get moderated as trolling. This is new. For this blog entry, I will type with decent spelling and grammar so you can easily follow along.

Terms of Service violation? Don't believe me? Let's take a look:

[please right-click and select "view image" to view in detail]

On GameSpot (and others), a few people got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 early and finished the game. On normal difficulty, the game can be finished in 4 (or 5) hours. That is agreed upon. On Veteran difficulty, the game is about 5 or 6 hours long.

I went on GameFAQs and posted that tidbit. Typing extremely fast (I typed my message up in 5 seconds), I made the above post, which correlates to:

"I read from the person who had beaten the game that clocked enemies in 4 hours of their skulls.

I heard MW1 [Modern Warfare 1] was also 4 hours long. This is 4 hours long too. Though 4 hours is very short, I'm assuming it will be a good 4 hours."

That's the meaning behind my message. Apparently, it was moderated for trolling. Looking up GameFAQs' definition of trolling, it means to incite flames, meaning someone must have gotten angry at my message. Perhaps my spelling and grammar really angered someone badly.

Looking at the moderation, I disputed it and received a reply from a moderator/admin:

[please right-click and select "view image" to view in detail]

The moderator said, "Looking at your mod history..." That right there is a logic fallacy. I believe it is called "appeal to tradition," where we look in the past to determine the future outcome. In this case, the moderator basically said, "Well, looking at your moderation history, you seem to have a few moderations. Therefore, I'm sure you must a be bad little girl this time too."

He just said that because I have a moderation history, my post must be bad by default. I must always be wrong. OK, I see how logic works on GameFAQs and to this moderator (by the way, the majority of my moderations are for off-topic threads, not trolling).

Oh wait, logic doesn't exist on GameFAQs! Duh! The moderators have never entered college!

Alright, moving to his next quote, which is the main one: "... and how you typed in the post compared to your dispute, I'm inclined to believe that you were indeed trolling the boards with this topic."

Now he's criticizing how I wrote my original post versus how I wrote the appeal. Remember that on the int3rw3bz, spelling and grammar is not required. Though it helps to write decently, tons of users do not. I just happened to be in that category for this post, writing that post up in only 5 seconds. Though reading through my post, I did convey a message to the reader.

He basically compared how I wrote the original topic to how I wrote the dispute. The writing in my dispute is much more legible and understandable. Well of course I would be much more understandable to the moderator! I am trying to dispute a moderation error! Can you imagine if someone wrote with terrible spelling/grammar to appeal something to the court? Appeals are usually typed up by a lawyer! So of course I had to write more decently to the moderator to appeal my case!

Imagine if the court said this to you: "Well, I see that your previous post had terrible grammar and spelling, but in this appeal, you improved your writing, so I will assume that you were trolling in the 1st place."

Wow, where did they get this uneducated moderator?

There you have it: Bad spelling and grammar is an unspoken violation on GameFAQs. If I had spelled things right, I would be fine. But because I did not, I was moderated. And by the way, as I'm typing this up, there are several threads on the forums discussing completion times. They are not moderated at all, because you know why?

They have decent spelling and grammar.

LOL! GameFAQs + moderator = Fail.

Game i actually want to play (but you dont)!

last year when i was still in high school, i was a cheerleader for 4 years. so, why 4 years? my parents wnated me to. they wanted some activity to keep me busy and out of trouble, lol. my friend suggested i go into cheerleading so i gave it a shot and stuck with it for 4 yrs.

being a cheerleader is not easy at all. you have to be strong, flexible, energetic, and almost fearless lol strong to hold up others, flexible to do the routine and stretches, energetic to actually put on a show, and fearless becaues you cant be afraid of heights and tossed in the air. it was scary; i remember being tossed up a few times and nearly landing in an awekward positoin that would've been dangerous. luckily, i'm ok

most peopel do not nkow the effort that goes in. for them, it's just a show. but for us (and myself), it is hard work and dedication and almost like gymnastics. plus, it's good exercise and kept be fit and flexible.

so today on gamespot, i read the upcoming releses and noticed a game called "We cheer 2" coming out. i didnt even know there was going to be a 2nd one, and i've never even played the 1st one, only heard of it.

there it is. now imagine how that girl would feel if she was afrid of hiegts, lol. or if that guy actually didnt have strength. see what i mean?

looking at the cover brings me memories. you know, i actually want to try it out! from reading reviews of the first one on amazon, it's not bad. i never played the 1st we cheer game, though i can give it a shot sometime.

but yeah, i want to try it out sometime. brings back memories just looking at teh cover.

Hello Kitty!

Several people have asked me if im a fan of hello kitty, and my answer is "sort of"

KittyHeart comes from the fact that i love kittens (so adorable!) so KittyHeart was made. I didnt know what to have as an avatar or sig except pics of kittens, but that would be somewhat boring and uncreative, since there is the lol cats thing floating around.

when people greeted me, they said "hello kitty" and the covnersaton goes on. After awhile of people saying "hello Kitty" it just struck me that my "mascot" i guess would be hello kitty, a famout product! There we go, a recognizable mascot, lol. what an excellent idea!

so hello kitty became soemwhat of my representation. since then, my interest for hello kitty has increased since it is what people refer to me by (mostly).

my favorite image is this one:

i like it because it is cute, animated, and has a cute message "sweet as pie." i just love that gif. btw, i didn't make it. i found it. it is well made and looks very nice and light-hearted. it even has blinking stars and really caught my eye.

Thought i'd share my story of how hello kitty came to me.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, my name is KittyHeart. Welcome to my blog!

I am a girl gamer. I enjoy fun, innovative, and creative games. I love to play on my Nintendo DS. You can call me a Nintendo fangirl.

My hobby is design. I have an interest in web design an layouts. I like to design for my friends' Myspace and others. I like to take dull ideas and be creative with them. I enjoy using colors to express things, because they can have strong messages. I love design and graphics. Am I boring? Lol, I hope not!

I like a little bit of sports. I'm not very athletic, though, lol. In high school, I was a cheerleader for 4 years and i played volleyball a bit on and off. My friends did tennis and swimming, and I tried it too but really didn't like it. I also like to play ping-pong. Does that count as a sport? XD

Well, that's all for now. I'll update more when I have the time. If you want to add me as a friend, your welcome to. If you have any questions, you can just ask me. Send me a message. if you want to track my contributions, sure, that would be great, i will add you too. i hope to write future blogs and other things.

Oh, btw, did I mention I'm a Nintendo fangirl? Lol, yes, I did!
