Long time...
Wow, I can't believe that's its been over two weeks since I lost blogged on here! And i've hardly been checking anyone else's blogs either, so sorry for that.
I've now got two weeks of semester to go, then exams ending November 1st. Unfortunately that is a Saturday- I have to admit I'm rather unimpressed coz I'd rather be working and earning money but hey, I do not control the exam timetable. If I did I would also not have myself having two exams on one day- I absolutely hate it when that happens. It equal extreme stress and I become a real bitca when that happens!
But, once all that is over.... HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!! Until the end of February, so I've got pleanty of time to enjoy the sun and have a great summer! Starting with a skiing trip sometime early November... Not entirely sure there will be any snow on the mountains, but hey it'll still be lots of fun. Roadtripping with friends has got to guarentee a good time. ![]()
No TV news from me at the moment. No new shows that I'm watching, and currently am only watching SVU and CSI:Miami and I think that their both due to finish soon. If not soon then at least in the next month or two... ![]()
So yeah, hopefully I'll be on here more in about a month's time! ![]()
No Kiwiana bit for this blog. Sorry. Will make up for it next time.
Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

Ok, so I said in my last blog that I wouldn't be coming on here too much in the next like eight weeks. Hmmm.... perhaps I spoke too soon! This site is just far too addictive for my own good! I can't help but come on here at least every couple of days, check everybody's blogs, see what's up on my most-visited forums... and all of it is distracting me from my actual work.! ![]()
Oh, just before my whole Kiwiana part I have to gloat about New Zealand's sporting successes of the weekend. Firstly (and most importantly in my eyes) the All Blacks bet Australia in the Tri-Nations decider- it was a VERY tense game, to win the Tri-Nations and retain the Bledisloe cup! Trust me, that's a big deal down under! The Wellington Lions (in the national rugby competition) won their 7th straight game, and will challenge Auckland for the Ranfurly Shield this weekend. Also, the Warriors (NZ League team) bet the TOP placed Storm to book themselves a home semi next weekend. Also, very big news. And while I'm not entirely sure about the medal count at the ParaOlympics, last I heard NZ has 11 medals, and one of our swimmers won here third gold! Pretty damn impressive I say!
NB: I know that for most of you my seemingly incessant ramblings about rugby and league seem pointless and probably incomprehensable, but rugby is a very big deal down here in NZ and I'm a very big rugby fan, so I like to let you all know what is happening in the vague hope that you will all convert to being rugby fans!

Ok, so here's a little bit of culture for the first Kiwiana part...

And since I've made a big deal out of the Tri-Nations game (and it was) here's the highlights from the game. Sorry for the poor quality....

Sorry... Again
Anyways, I had my first week back at uni this week (I'm only there three days a week, so my week is over already) and I have to say it went pretty well. Handed in an assignment, got two back (an A+ and an A) so pretty stoked about that, and did a presentation that wasn't as nerver-wracking as I built it up to be
To TV news.... I watched this movie the other night starring Parminda Nagra (of 'Bend it Like Beckham' and 'ER" for those unfortunate not to know) called "Compulsion". It was actually really interesting, but also quite disturbing. Basically an Indian girl who on the surface has everything, finds upon coming home from University that her father is arranging a marriage for her. This isn't good at all as she is in love with an English boy. So, to get out of the arranged marriage she starts an illict affair with the family's chauffeur. Now, if it sounds seedy and disturbing, then you'll be correct! But it also presents some really interesting questions and the relationship between the daughter and chauffeur is not as clear-cut as it may seem.... So, yeah I would actually recommend it to anyone.
I also managed to brave the One Tree Hill forum today.... and I'm kind of torn between being glad and regretting it. See, I got to read/see all about the LP love that I'm not going to actually witness for AGES!!!!! so I'm happy to see it cause they really are just perfect together, and sad that i don't get to see it for myself.
Yeah, that was one random blog! I'm on my laptop which is notorious for not posting links, so will add the Kiwiana part of my blog later on when I can use the home computer.
Gym....
Ok, I know I haven't been on much in the past week or two, but I have kind of left my assignments to the last minute (techincally Monday night would be last minute, but that is far to last minute for me to cope with!).
So, you're probably wondering why on earth my blog for today is titled 'Gym'. Well, firstly I work at a gym- Les Mils Hutt City to be exact, and have done so for the past two years. I don't do anything glamorous, in fact I'm employed as a cleaner, but the pay is good, same with the hours and the people who work there are great.
Anyways, as part of working there I get a free memebership. However, its only been in the past couple months that I've started using my membership- just going to a ****each week. Well, yesterday evening I took the BIG step of getting one of the Gym Instructors to show me how to use some of the equipment. That's a big step for me I assure you- I'm not really into the whole 'working out' thing, but hey, this way I might actually have muscles in a couple months time!
Ok, since this is TV.com and its all about TV I guess I'd better put some TV stuff in this blog. Well, the biggest thing for me at the moment is because of all the season premiers starting in the States this week, I'm kind of concerned to go on any of the forums for shows that I currently watch, coz I really REALLY don't want to get spoiled! I accidentally got spoiled off a Bebo Site for BONES earlier on in the year, and consequently found out who Gormagon's apprentice was weeks befor it was screened here in NZ.I was pretty pissed off actually. Ah well, I will just have to be very careful as to which threads I go on from now on.....
Ok, Kiwiana time. I really wanted to show a Les Mills ad, but I can't seem to find any that look like they have screened on NZ, so instead, I'm going to show the NZ Post Ad. Really great, with the song being 'One Day' by Opshop:
Break, Bad, Bust and Help
Well, many things have gone on in the past week for me.....
First off, last Thursday was my last day of uni for the first part of Semester! YAY!!!!!!!!! Well, kind of yay. Though I don't have to go into Wellington and spend unneccesary time travelling, I do have like three assignments to complete over the next two weeks, so its not going to be quite as relaxing as I had hoped. But still, no uni is no uni and its worth being happy about! So that's the 'break'
The second thing that happened last Thursday, though not exactly bad, does put me out of money. Completely my own fault of course. As you all might remember from my last blog, I've got readdicted to Roswell. And on my high from finishing uni (temporarily of course) I decided to go and have a look in Borders, a book/dvd/cd store and said to myself, "well, if I find Roswell for $60 or less, I'll buy it". Talk about tempting fate! So I am now the proud owner of Season One, Roswell. Ultimately money worth spent, though since I've had one birthday gone, three coming up, plus fathers day, I could have used that DVD money!
Ok, so Thursday was an eventful day for me, cause on Thursday night, the 'bust' happened. I got a new car about three weeks ago and on Thursday night managed to scrape the back end (drivers side) along my mates' fence. Not so cool, especially since I didn't think that the damage was that bad and was fully intending not telling my parents. Until my mum went out and saw that I had actually dented the car. $1000 bucks worth to fix it! For scraping a bloody fence! Insane.
So, finally to 'help'. If anyone is any good at making Icons, for avatars and whatnot, could they please let me know. I've got this idea for one that I'd like, but I don't have the software or anything to make one, and even if I did I wouldn't be able to use it. So if anyone is willing to help me I'd be very greatful! ![]()
Um, well I'm not feeling very inspired right now, so unfortunately I'm going to post a very boring Kiwiana link this week..... Just one of the best Sevens Songs ever, "Why does love do this to me" by The Exponents:
