My September :D

Hey Everyone

Away from TV.com)

Well, I reckon some of you might guess what my big news for this month is ...

I became a full time student again . I am officially coming to you from University . A whole 3 years of it to go . I'll try and survive .

But i still reckon a youtube video is needed to celebrate the occasion :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpwP4wD2EJQ&feature=PlayList&p=BFBB7D945676CF33&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=15

So anyway, back to Uni life . Well after some initial homesickness, I'm slowly starting to settle into Uni life , although all the reading and coursework I have to do is a bit off putting . It's a big change for me compared to the first 29 years of my life, and a bit scary because of it , but I'm sure I'll get into the swing of it all eventually .

Other things that happened this month :

- My Mum had a birthday . I got her a book about bird watching

- My nephew had a birhday . I got him a racing car card game (gotta watch the pennies now that I'm a student )

- I had 4 leaving parties! . I went out for drinks with my now ex-work colleagues . I went out drinking with my friends . I had a meal with my parents and my brother and sister and their families . And I went Go-karting with my Karate group, and it was soo much fun , I've never been go-karting before .

- I joined a new salsa club up at Uni

- I went and saw this illusionist guy who swallowed loads of random things. It was pretty gross

- I got something I wrote published in a film magazine again .

My August :D

Hey Everyone

Away from TV.com)

Hmm, now what could have possibly happened, hmm . Oh, now I remember............... Anna came over and stayed with me for 9 days .

Yep . A whole 9 days . Apart from all that lovey dovey stuff , things we did included : Going to the seaside, going to see a musical in the West End , having a picnic in a local park , and going to the cinema twice . Other things that happened in August :

- It was my brother's birthday .

- I got a new display rack for my TV DVDs (You may have noticed that I tend to buy the occasional TV Boxset ). I'm hoping, that with me having to drastically reduce my DVD buying when I'm at Uni , it might last me till the end of my Uni course . It probably wont though , LOL .

- I bought a new ipod . It's a black ipod classic , and it has a storage capacity of 120GB .

- I got a new hi-fi for Uni . It's just a basic thing , but it does come with a CD player, digital radio, and ipod playing area .

- I got a new DVD player . a multi-region one .

- And I got a new TV aswell . A 20 inch HD readly plasma screen, with built in freeview (a cheap, lot less impressive version of Cable, but Hey, It still means I get about 20 extra channels to watch ).

- Oh and there's also the fun of arranging my September farewell parties . Of which there are 4 of them! . More about them in the future though .

On TV.com)

My June :D

Hey everyone

Away from TV.com)

A couple of important things happened this month , but let me first say something that happened this month, that some of you may already know about :

I became a Boyfriend!! . But who on earth is my girlfriend then? . Well the answer is, another TV.com member . But who?!!!! you ask . Bannanie (better known as Anna ), that's who .

So how about some more relationship details then .

We'd been chatting on msn together since about autumn/winter 2008, which is also about the same time we arranged that the two of us would meet up in February, when Anna came over for her holiday in London . February comes around, we meet up as planned. We then go our seperate ways after that . After London, our texting and msning relationship gets more personal, to a point where I guess you could call it romantic . I then arrange with Anna, that I would come over and visit her in June in Switzerland. So, I book my flights, and we meet up . She takes me on a tour of her city, and it was all very nice . Then came the big step . Following on from the convos we had been having post-London, I turned to Anna and said that I liked her in a romantic way . She responded, and said she felt the same way . So, one thing led to another, and we agreed that we wanted to officially be a couple . So yeah, that's it, in a roundabout way . Oh and also, Anna's coming over to the UK in August, and we're gonna be spending a whole 9 days together . Yaaayyy!!! .

In other news ......

- I officially completed my 15 month work contract . Which means I got my completion bonus ........plus......they wanted to keep me on aswell , so I'll officially be employed there up until I go to Uni aswell . Plus of course, they now know about me going to Uni, and they're fine with that .

- I bought a DSi .

- I bought the drum kit controller for Guitar Hero: World Tour

- And I also bought............a Lego Death Star!!!!! . Yeah yeah, I know I'm 29 . But it's just so awesome , hehe:

http://www.thetoyzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/lego-death-star.jpg

- I also got officiial confirmation through that I got at a campus room at my University .

- I went and saw my cousin perform in a local play .

- I won something in a Prize Draw . I've never done that before, ever . I won Seven Pounds on Blu-ray . It was a runner up prize , but hey, it still counts as winning something in a prize draw . It now means, I have officially won 6 films on blu-ray in the last 12 months ,,............but I still have nothing to play them on .

Albums I bought) Sunny Side Up by Paolo Nutini, Music For The People by The Enemy, The Best Of Paul McCartney and Wings, The Best Of Stevie Wonder

Games I Bought) Animal Crossing: Wild Word (DSi), Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DSi), Grand Slam Tennis (Wii)

TV show I bought) I Love Lucy: Season 4, I Love Lucy: Season 5, South Park: Season 11, Walker Texas Ranger: Season 4

On TV.com)

Well, for lack of a better word,.......I've given up doing submissions.

Let me explain that a bit better ...

In the last few months, I've had at least 300 submissions that have not been counted as a level percentage increase. I've mentioned this fact both on one staff members' own blog, and once on a main TV.com forum topic. Those comments have been there over a week, and no-one has even attempted to respond yet!

Personally I think it's terrible to see problems like that treated this way by TV.com staff, so I've decided, that, until they start doing their job, I wont do mine. Thus no more subbing from me till the problem's fixed .

My May :D

Hey Everyone

Away from TV.com:

- Some news about my job situation . The answer to whether my job is going to last until September stands squarely on the decision of the woman who the person who I'm covering is covering, of whether she intends to return to work at rhe end of June. That decision was supposed to be made over 3 weeks ago . But. being the nice people they are, my department has extended my contract from finishing at the beginning of June, to finishing at the beginning of July . Which means, if things dont work out, I only need to find work for 2 and half months before I go to Uni . Although I am still annoyed at the fact that whether I'm staying or going still hasn't been decided yet .

- Also at work, I had a free health check . I kinda was a bit nervous about what the results might've been , but it turns out that I'm totally fine , and my colestoral level is a surprisingly healthy 3.1 , which I'm kinda amazed at, considering how much cr@p I eat, LOL . So Yaayy!! Go healthy me .

- I went to a 60th birthday party . No bouncy castle at this party, lol . But they did decide to get a game of lawn cricket going in the garden, and one of the batsmen managed to accidentilly wallop the ball straight into a lady's crotch, haha , thank goodness we were only using Tennis Balls, LOL .

- I went and saw my niece perform in a musical .

- I went to the cinema again! . And this time it wasn't by myself, LOL . We saw Star Trek . And it was pretty awesome . We also saw it in an IMAX cinema, which I've never done before, and we saw the first public screening of the film aswell . So overall, it was a pretty awesome day .

- We finally got wireless internet access in our house . Which also means I finally got my Wii conected to the net aswell . So if anybody ever fancies playing against me online, feel free to PM me, and we can exchange friend codes .

- I managed to catch one of my fingers in a door when I closed it , and now my finger's all bruised and achy .

Films I bought) The Spirit (2/5), Martyrs (3/5), Baby Mama, Condorman (3/5), Death Note (3/5), Dragon Tiger Gate (3/5), Eden Lake (3/5), Frontiers (3/5), Frost/Nixon (4/5), Role Models (3/5), Rosemary's Killer (3/5), Sex Drive (2/5), Stealth (2/5), Supergirl (2/5), Toy Soldiers (2/5), Look Who's Talking (2/5)

- There was much change to my regular social classes this month. My Tuesday Karate class ceased to be, and became a Wednesday class instead (our teacher wasn't happy with the recent way the janitors at our normal hall had been messing our class plans around, so he decided to take the class somewhere else). Only problem is, I have Salsa on Wednesdays, and I really like the class, and it's venue, so I'm not gonna give it up (until I have to). So to replace the classless gap I now have on Tuesdays (I still have Karate on Thursdays ), I've taken up a second Salsa class . It's nearer to where I work, and it teaches a slightly different technique . The class isn't as good as the Wednesday one, but it's still an enjoyable way to spend a Tuesday night .

- I booked up a weekend away to Switzerland in June .

- I finally got a laptop . It only took me 29 years to get one, LOL . It's my first piece of fancy new stuff for Uni . Expect me to get various other new things in the summer, once my completion bonus from work comes along .

- A guy tried to chat me up . Which I know wouldn't be a bad thing, if I was of the opposite sex, or if I wasn't straight, But the thing is I'm neither of those . So yeah, that freaked me out a bit, lol . Luckily the awkwardness of the moment was reduced for me, as the free practice Salsa session (prior to my normal Wednesday class) was just about to begin, and so I had an escape route, LOL .

- I went to a 75th Birthday party . It was actually quite fun . They had a Bouncy Castle, LOL .

- I went up another level on Movietome . I'm now level 21, Hitchcock's Bird (from the film, The Birds )

Films I bought) Poltergeist 3 (2/5), Campsite Massacre (2/5), Transporter 3 (2/5), Burn After Reading (3/5), Adam's Rib (3/5), Beetlejuice (3/5), Cocktail (2/5), Innerspace (3/5), Peter Pan (animated version) (3/5), King Frat (2/5), Max Payne (2/5), His Girl Friday (3/5), Tarzan (animated) (3/5), Zodiac (4/5), Borat (3/5), Shaun Of The Dead (3/5)

My March :D

Hey everyone .

Another pretty busy month again, although I did seem to do a lot of things with family, I'm not sure how I feel about that .

Away from TV.com:

I finally filled in my student loan form and my University accommodation application . I can finally relax a bit more . I just got to see if I get the monetary support I need now .

I saw my 6 year old nephew act on stage for the first time ever ^_^.

I did a fun run with my brother and my 8 year old niece. It was actually the first year my niece has been old enough to take part, and she actually did well . She completed the 3 mile route in just 28 minutes, and she managed to get in the Top 300 (of over 700 participants) . I managed about 23 minutes, and got in the top 100 .

I went to the open day again for the University I'm going too (University Of Gloucestershire). I definitely really like the Univesity, the campus, the set up of the course, and it's surroundings, and I'm really looking forward to going there , in just 5 and a half months .

I took part in a work quiz night . We came 12th out of 18 groups .

We saw an illusionist/magician show. I haven't seen one of them in years .

I managed to get 3 tickets to see Michael Jackson in concert in London next February .

I went to my sister and her husband's 1st wedding anniversary party, and it actually turned out to be better than I expected it to be .

For Mother's Day, we went to a Chinese buffet restaurant again .

I had a go at a Golf driving range again . Golf is definitely not my forte .

I had a check up on my hearing. And the specialist seems to think that nothing has got any worse, which is a relief . Although he wants me for another check up in September . I'm kind a wondering how many more of them I'm gonna have .

I went up another level on Movietome . I'm now level 20 "Leprechaun". It's from the horror movie, Leprechaun .

Films I bought) Babylon A.D. (2/5), Quantum Of Solace (3/5), The Children (3/5), Kiltro (3/5), Poltergeist (4/5), Poltergeist 2 (3/5), Saw V (3/5), The Love Guru (2/5), OSS 117: Cairo Nest Of Spies (3/5), Highlander 3 (2/5), Zack And Miri Make A P***o (3/5).

Albums I bought) No Line On The Horizon by U2, Dig Out Your Soul by Oasis, Dreamboats and Petticoats (Compilation album)

TV Shows I bought) South Park Season 7, South Park: Season 8, South Park: Season 9, Bewitched: Season 7, MacGyver: Season 5

Games I Bought) SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 (Wii), Samba De Amigo (Wii)

On TV.com:

I went up another 2 places on the unofficial TV.com Top 100 list . I now rank 32nd .

My February :D *Update - new movies that I forgot to add ;)*

Hey Everyone

Away from TV.com)

- After my TV show set visit last month, it's hard to imagine something as "Wow" as that would happen in February , but guess what? . It did . In February...........I met.............someone from TV.com . Yes indeed , it took over 3 years to happen , but it finally did . But who did I meet, I hear you ask . Well I'm gonna tell you . The one, the only,.......................Banannie (aka Anna ). Following her recent holiday to London, we got to spend a whole 2 and a half hours together . Yes yes, I managed to get us lost in London's West End, lol , but we still visited lots of cool places (well I thought they were cool ), and well yeah, it was a pretty awesome time . So there we go, the foot is in the doorway, the real LB80 has been revealed, feel free to bug Anna for all details about me , and then get yourself over to London already so I can meet you too . You know you want to really . .

- I went to the cinema . And not just any film, or any day, but, Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th . I went by myself, which I haven't done before, and well, it's not as much fun as when you go with other people , but when my friends either hate horror movies, or cheesy movies , I guess I have little choice . The reason I went though was the simple fact that, I absolutely love the Friday the 13th series , I have all 10 and half movies on DVD (Freddy Vs Jason being the half ), but, I've never seen a single one in the cinema (eventhough I could have seen Jason X, and Freddy Vs Jason, but my friends weren't having it ), So anyway, my verdict.....okay, but definately not the best in the series , and as I've stressed on movietome, the film is definately not a remake of the first film, it is a reboot .

- I went to a music concert . It's actually the first one I've been to since 2004 . I actually went with a friend who I haven't seen in over half a year , and his work colleagues, oh and btw the way, he's a police officer, and so are his colleagues . So I guess you could say, I had a police escort, LOL . But back to the concert . We saw a scottish singer called Tommy Reilly, he's kinda like the singer Paolo Nutini . And yeah it was good .

- I also met up with two other friends who I haven't seen since last Summer . We actually keep trying to plan a meet up, but one of my friends is one the most unreliable people in the world, so unsurprisingly, we never end up meeting . But amazingly, this time it actually happened . We ended up doing a bit of bar hopping in London, and it was actually a quite good night .

- I also decided to start learning languages again , with the help of my Nintendo DS . I got myself the Teach Yourself Japanese game , and I hope to get the Teach Yourself French game soon aswell .

- I also went up another level on Movietome . I'm now level 19, Varmint Cong (it's related to the film, Caddyshack )

Films I bought) Carry On Teacher (3/5), Carry On Spying (3/5), Carry On Jack (3/5), Carry On Cowboy (3/5), Saw (3/5), Saw II (3/5), Saw III (3/5), Saw IV (2/5), House Of The Dead 2: Dead Aim (2/5), Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (2/5), The Next Karate Kid (2/5), High School Musical (3/5), The House Bunny (2/5), Get Smart (2/5), Step Brothers (2/5), Blazing Saddles (3/5), Madman (2/5), Zombie Strippers (3/5).

TV shows I Bought) South Park: Season 5, South Park: Season 6, The Cosby Show: Season 4, CSI: Season 8, Part 2, Saturday Night Live: Season 1

Albums I Bought) Now That's What I Call Music

Games I bought) House Of The Dead: Overkill (Wii)

On TV.com)

- I did another quiz . And it is actually my most commented on TV.com blog so far .

- I went up another 2 places on the TV.com Top 100 highest ranked users list .

Quiz 7 :D **Completed**

Yes yes, they're back again .

But for those of you unaware of my previous quizzes, I'll bring you up to speed on how they work . There are 20 questions to be answered, each correct answer is worth 1 point, the first person to get the answer right gets a point, feel free to put through as many answers as you want, and any points you get will be added next to your name on the next quiz's score board .

Now on to the new game .

I have taken the names of TV shows that are either currently airing, or went off air within the last 10 years, and I have all given them alternative titles , but which still have the same meaning as the title they're normally known as e.g. Numbers = Figures. Level 63 :D, plus My January :)

Hey everyone

I went up a new level , 63 Woo Hoo!!!

For those of you not aware of everything that Joss Whedon has ever been involved in , the title relates to his highly praised , but short lived (Less than 20 episodes made ), sci-fi TV series, Firefly .

Photobucket

Photobucket

And the opening credits to the show :

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LrAS20mNZUE

......so yeah yeah, I know what you're gonna say, where's the party stuff? . . Well I seem to be reaching new levels quicker than I thought I would, so I thought I'd restrict parties to when I achieve any of my yearly goals .

So on to January .

Away from TV.com:

- It was my Mum & Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary . We went out to a buffet st.yle Chinese restaurant . It was very tasty .

- I went and saw my cousin and his amateur dramatics group perfom a pantomime version of Snow White . At over 6 foot, he was quite possibly the tallest dwarf ever .

- I went and saw a musical in the theatre . We saw Jersey Boys . It was okay . The singing was good, and the songs were alright, but overall it was a bit on the blah side .

- It was my birthday . I got money, a new board game, a French Connection UK T-shirt (with a smiley on it ), and a book on University cooking techniques .

- The most awesomest thing though , is that........................I got to to see a brand new British TV series being filmed . A friend of the family managed to get me access to see how the show is shot, and I actually got to watch the scenes being made with all the camera crews, sound crews, script writers, make-up girls, and the producer . Plus I was only about 10 yards away from the show's actors aswell . I also got to check out the star caravans, and have free lunch from the production catering service . I don't know if any of you lot have ever been to a live production set before, but it really is just like it's shown on TV and the movies, it really was so awesome .

- I went up another level on Movietome . I'm now level 18 "Pagoda's Pocket Knife" . apparently it's from The Royal Tenebaums . I swear their level references are even more random than TV.coms, LOL.

Games I bought) Animal Crossing (Wii)(which I'm totally addicted to already, lol), Disaster: Day Of Crisis (Wii), Sonic Unleashed (Wii)

TV Shows I Bought) South Park: Seasons 3 & 4

Films I Bought) Blazing Saddles (3/5), Evan Almighty (2/5), Fatal Contact (3/5), Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay (3/5), The Omen 2 (3/5), The Omen 3 (3/5), Pineapple Express (3/5), Stay Alive (2/5), Superhero Movie (3/5), Tropic Thunder (3/5), You Don't Mess With the Zohan (3/5)

New Stuff :D

Hey Everyone

Just a quick blog to let you know about a couple of TV.com related updates for me .

First off, as some of you may have noticed, I've updated my "About Me" section . Infact, I completely re-vamped it. I'm thinking I might re-work my "About Me" section every January now .

The other thing, is that I became editor for another show guide . It's for a british daytime debate show called The Wright Stuff. It's been running since 2000, and is still going strong . It's also my 60th show guide, and as long as I can find a complete guest star list, it may allow me enough subbing work to get me all the way up to the Buffy level .

And finally) A welcoming hug to my new friend, Tom_Southwell .

A New Year, and some New Year goals :)

Happy New Year everyone .

I hope you all had a good one , apart for poor banannie having a cold . I almost did nothing , but then I ended up spending it over at my brother's house, so it was alright in the end .

So what to expect for me in 2009. Well it's been said before that you never have 2 years that play out the same as eachother. 2008 started pretty rubbish for me, but then it suddenly started snowballing into a big pile of awesomeness , before losing itself a bit in the second half of the year . 2009 has started similar to how 2008 ended, things aren't perfect, but there's still a lot of good things that shouldn't be looked over .

As with most years, there are certain things, that may be happening to me this year, but none of them apart from Uni (more on that later ) are set in stone, so I don't want to jinx them by saying I hope they'lll happen , but if they don't, I'll just deal with it .

Yeah I know that was cryptic , but I like to surprise you guys and girls, it keeps thing interesting .

Now back to University . Because yes, as of September 1st this year, I will be a full time student again . Teachers, homework, coursework, exams, eeeeekk!!! But at least I'll be studying a subject I love . Plus I really like the part of the UK where I'll be going to Univesity (Gloucestershire).

And now onto the all important TV.com 2009 goals . I don't expect to go up as many levels as I did last year, but I could still surprise myself , but here's my goals anyway . I've put them in order from easiest to hardest :

- Reach the Buffy Level (Level 65)

- Reach 20,000 subs

- Get in the top 25 highest ranking members of TV.com

- Reach level 70

So yeah, that's about it . Expect more detailed exploits of my life over the rest of the year .

6 Days till my birthday
