Rentals

Finished the game. I kind of liked it until I got to Episode 7. Even though there are only eight episodes having to hunt down those roots in the last two chapters almost made me hate the game, it doesn't help that the last two chapters probably took me twice as long as the rest of the game. 950 achievements, I could have got the last 50 but I'm not going after anymore ******* roots.

I don't think the camera in a game has ever made me so sick. The story is funny. But the gameplay isn't very good and the game is very short. 485 Achievements.

So, like many others, I have been looking at the website Giantbomb. I joined with the same username I use here. I've been submitting a few things, not too much because I want to see one get accepted first to make sure I am doing it right. I have waited over 25 hours for my first submission, but I'm sure they are getting more than enough. So far I have made some edits to Fire Emblem 7 and Fire Emblem 10's pages, said to add the game Yggdra union, and the concept of Permanent Death which is found in "rougelikes" and some strategy games like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Anyway, I was looking at the help section looking at things you can add when I looked at image requirements. One rule said

"No nudity or nudity related fan art on the site."

Usually, it would end there, but it went on to say.

"The exception is for nudity that is IN-GAME in the store bought version of the game."

That surprises me. People that play the Conan MMO are going to have fun with that rule.

Gundam Wing Operation 1: $5.30

The first of ten Gundam Wing DVDs, each with five episodes. I guess one should have four. I ordered this over a week ago but the zip code was entered wrong on my shipping address for half.com, just got it today.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride: $3

Found it used, I never saw it but I usually like Tim Burton films. Not Planet of the Apes.

The Devil's Brigade: $3

Found it used at the same store. Watched it and enjoyed it.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance: $11.69

I rented and beat this one but I really liked it and it was cheap so I thought what the hell.

Civilization: Revolution

It's a good game but not really for me

Unreal Tournment 3

I haven't tried online yet. I beat single player, not that good (multiplayer with bots), and I still need to play co-op. I didn't really want to rent this but I wanted to try Civilization and I had a rent one get one free, and my rentals are half off for a month because I just became a member at the Hollywood near me.

Interview

The press conference was bad enough.

Two blogs ago I said what I wanted to see at E3, let's see how many of those things were talked about.

Games

I didn't hear anything about Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, DC for Mass Effect, Fire Emblem DS, Shin Magami Tensei PS3, World in Conflict 360, Deus Ex 3, Hells Highway Multiplayer, or Battlefront 3.

I was pleased with most of what I did hear about other games though

Mercenaries 2: Some great looking gameplay. When trailers first started coming out I wasn't that impressed, it's looking better everytime I see it though.

Resident Evil 5: Looking great and will have online co-op. Not coming out until next year though. Game I want the most.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Saw some gameplay finally and it looks fun but I would still like to see what kind of force powers you can get and some lightsaber fights. I never was a fan of force lightning, not many people that played Jedi Outcast online were.

Gears of War 2: An ok demonstration and announced a five player co-op mode where you just fight waves of enemies.

Fallout 3 and Fable 2: I like what I am hearing but I want to see more gameplay with your character interacting with others. I know you can get married and have a dog in Fable 2 and I know what the bloody mess trait does in a Fallout game.

Saints Row 2 and Left 4 Dead: Some gameplay but not much new information. Both are looking good though.

Puzzle Quest Galactrix: Still want it but it is coming out next year now.I heard nothing about the expansion for the first one. Even though the new achievements have been on Live for about two weeks.

Resistence 2: Good amount of gameplay, like it so far.

Sonic Chronicles: Some good information, I didn't see much gameplay though

Prject Origin: Looking good, no release date

Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway: Looking good, still no multiplayer, delayed a month.

Call of Duty 5: I didn't see anything on this except for what was shown on the Wii, which looked alright. But I'll be getting the 360 version.

Microsoft

Well, they didn't make the harddrives cheaper but I did get my multiple person vocie chat wish.

Sony

Did Sony's announcements make me want to buy a PS3? No, not really. I still will once I get money but 2008 doesn't look like that great a year once again, except for Metal Gear 4.

Nintendo

Well, not only did it suck as much as last year, it sucked even more. At least the mic they talked about might give us voice chat. But with developers talking about the good of friend codes because it stops strangers from sending messages, I don't know how many games will support it if it does come out.

Games I want to see announed

Dead Rising 2: Still no word, but the first will be on the Wii. Doesn't matter to me though.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: I forgot, this was actually annonuced back in Feburary, just nothing on it.
Ghost Recon: AW 3: Still no word, but, it's Ubisoft I'm sure there will be something soon.
Baldurs Gate 3: Kind of a joke, I knew this wouldn't come out but Dragon Age Origin is sounding great and they said it will come out on consoles.
More lightgun games coming out for the Wii, with content added to them: Nope
Phantom Dust 2: Nope
Kingdom Under Fire 3: Nope
The Darkness 2: Nope

Games I am now looking forward to or looing forward to more than I was before

Operation Flashpoint 2: I like realistic games and was looking forward to it for that but hearing about the huge online battles with AI and human players gets me excited. Still need to see a gameplay trailer though.

MAG: Just as big of battles as Operation Flashpoint 2 but with all human players. No real information yet though other than squads, amount of players, and getting new equipment.

Dragon Age Origin: I remember hearing about it years ago and it is great to see it being talked about again. Successor to Baldurs Gate, I'm sold.

Endwar: It's looking good still. I got into the beta but I only played one game. Text size was so small (even for some people with HDTVs) that I couldn't read anything about my units, upgrades, what to say to give orders, what division I was choosing, etc. It was so bad that if it got any smaller I wouldn't even have know which of the three factions I joined at the start. They better fix the text. If they listen to player feedback from the beta it should be good.

Far Cry 2: I wasn't really excited about this, but after seeing the gameplay videos it is high on my want list.

Valkyria Chronicles: I have been tracking this game since I frst heard of it, which was awhile ago. It sounds like a very good version of Operation Darkness. This and Metal Gear 4 could make me get my PS3.

The Agency: Looks like it could be a really fun game, will have to keep my eye on it.

Naruto: The Broken Bond: I like the first one on the 360 and I'm happy to hear about a sequel so soon. I like having other characters with you as well.

Should be a good year.
