hmm...
I just re-watched the anime movie 5 cm Per Second, which is a beautiful work of fiction, at least if you ask me. It's, in very short terms, a movie about growing up and letting go of the past, and the sadness which may follow from not being able to do so. I don't know about you, but for me this is an important thing to have in mind. The reason is that I'm a particularly nostalgic person, and, well, I often wish things haven't changed, no matter how good they actually are now. Heck, I even get that feeling when watching longer anime series, or at the end of one; I just miss the way things were before, if you know. Of course, there is the matter of re-watching, but it's just a temporary escape.
Anyway, this closeness I have with the theme of the movie; this identifying with the main character is what has made this movie something very special for me; not as an anime or movie fan, but as a human.
As a treat for you, the movie's ending song; One more time, One more chance (is an actual music video and doesn't contain clips from the movie)

Happy New Year! Things to tink about
Tuning in to wish everyone a happy new year ^^ For the occasion, here's a few lines for you to think about:
Often yearning requires earning
Even a small step, on a fir cone, could ruin a future forest.
An eagle doesn't wait for its prey to come to it; it has to seek out its prey on its own. It's the exact thing with a person and their fate.
Also, I'd like for everyone to give a small thought to the people in the world less fortunate than ourselves =)

A very merry Christmas
I had a lot of stuff to talk about, but it's all gone out of my head during this Christmas Eve, so I'll just throw in a list of my presents:
- Lots of candy and money (duh! No Christmas without)
- Disney Hall of Fame: Don Rosa (fyi he's my favorite Donald Duck story artist/writer, so that's gonna be a lot of fun!)
- Norwegian Polar History II (a book of self-explanatory content from my great-aunt. Got the first one for my birthday, so I'll have some fun reading if I ever feel like learning about what importance Norway played in the exploration and research of and about the polar areas).
- Wristwatch (something I've wanted for a long time now. Just gotta go get it adjusted to my wrist width)
- A shirt
- A pair of pants
- A sweater a jacket
- Two boxer shorts
Here are some Christmas anime pics for your enjoyment!

(edited with something I completely forgot!) )A wtf moment to remember
You know, sometimes life feels like throwing a complete wtf moment at you. Some days ago, I experienced such a moment, and it was even a good one! Here's the deal:
Thursday, I got on the bus to school as usual. Since it's a long way to school (30-40 mins), I usually do something on my laptop when I'm sitting there, be it watching anime, playing games, doing homework or something else. Adn on the laptop, I have this really cool pic from Naruto. Anyway, I take on my earbuds, and start listening to some lovely J-music. It doesn't take long, however, before I feel someone tapping my shoulder. The first thought that runs through my head is that my music is too loud and that sound is 'leaking' out. So I mute the sound, take off the earbuds, and look over to see this girl standing there. Of course, now I expect to hear something like "could you turn donw your music?", but no, instead she asks: "That picture on your desktop, that's from Naruto, right?". I, being compeltely baffled, mutter "um... yeah?". She replies "that's awesome! Do you watch it?". She was obviously an anime - or at least a Naruto - fan. And such the conversation started. She ended up seating herself next to me, and we talked about anime and Japan and whatnot during the whole bus trip. I found out she's actually attending the same school as me, but she's taking Arts. We met again at the bus Friday morning, and, well, I feel like I've made a friend (and a girl at that =P) in a pretty peculiar way.
As for other stuff, there's not a lot to say. I'm still friggin' sick, but I'm getting glasses, which may actually help (yeah, starting tomorrow I'll be using glasses =D). I hope so, because my grades have fallen to Bs/Cs instead of pretty much straight As >_>
And that's about it for now. Later, folks!

EDIT: I completely forgot to tell you that today is my 16th birthday =D

This world is boring...
I think the title pretty much speaks for itself. I do not know why, nor do I feel like finding out, but the inescapable truth is that the world just bores me. Nothing I do is particularly fun anymore. Be it watching a new anime, going to school, playing or listening to music, surfing on the internet, heck, even being with friends is boring. *sigh* why did I have to be cursed with boredom?'
Anyway, I raced through Code Geass during the weekend, and, well, it was a small flicker of light in these horrid times. It was okay, but in the end, I'm still indifferent. I don't recollect being particularly entertained, and its soundtrack just makes me even more depressed. But if you are looking for a great anime, check it out.
Tomorrow I'm going to the doctor's to see if some light can be shed on the sickness I've been struggling with the last two months. It's completely ruining me - and may even be the cause of the aforementioned problem -, and right now there's nothing more I want to do than to get healthy again.
*sigh* forget my emo rant and go on with your lives, okay?
