Legendary Changes

During the past few weeks we have all been witnessing an extremely rare occurrence as only a few times in its history has Nintendo allowed one of its main producers to talk so much about a game that doesn't even have an official trailer yet. Eiji Aonuma has been constantly revealing small details and hints on what the next The Legend of Zelda game may amount to. It is only natural that such comments and endless interviews have started generating an immense amount of hype among fans of the series, especially because as of now it is safe to assume that the next installment of the series will be very different from its predecessors, just like players want.

Ever since the original game released a couple of decades ago the series has been stuck on a gameplay pattern that involves exploring an overworld, solving a few problems, entering a dungeon and beating a boss just to reenter the overworld and start the cycle all over again. While this solid core has remained nearly intact through all those years Nintendo has been able to keep the games fresh by wrapping this nucleus with many brand new ideas like the Masks and three-day system of Majora's Mask or the immense overworld, cartoonish look and tons of sidequests brought by The Wind Waker.

This time around Nintendo doesn't seem to be satisfied with simply changing the decorations around the series' central concept, instead for the first time ever they appear to be tweaking with the very structure that has been keeping the franchise up as one of the greatest series in gaming through all those years. As Aonuma revealed the Zelda Team is working hard on doing away with the overworld-dungeon-overworld script, but details on the specific changes that will be implemented are non-existent and will probably only be revealed by next year's E3 when the game is bound to be shown for the first time. Meanwhile we can only speculate whether the game will be one massive dungeon – like the Prince of Persia games – or a totally brand new concept.

However, when looking a little deeper into what the next Zelda game is shaping up to be it is easy to conclude that there is a chance the biggest impact this title will bring is not reserved to the Zelda series, but it may end up affecting the whole industry. The Wiimote could be considered the first generation of motion controls and with the introduction of the WiiMotionPlus it became clear that Nintendo had achieved all they wanted with their original motion sensing technology, the MotionPlus brings the interactive experience first presented by the Wii's original controller to a whole new level with 1:1 precision, hence the fact that it marks the start of some sort of second generation of motion controls where Natal and the PS3 Wand will soon land.

By looking at the games released since the peripheral's introduction players will come to the conclusion that its benefits have remained nearly exclusive to sports titles, which basically puts a huge question mark over the possibility of Motion Controls becoming the industry's standard. After all if the 1:1 capability of the device proves to be useless with adventure, platforming and action titles there may be no future for further development on this new found gaming branch and Nintendo's technology will end up being limited to a few titles.

It is a known fact that the next Zelda game will make use of Wii Motion Plus, and as far as we know that is pretty much the only big game that supports the device Nintendo is working on. In the past the Zelda series was responsible for introducing the saving system with its first game and a few years later the lock feature of Ocarina of Time started appearing on all sorts of different games as Nintendo struck gold when they figured 3-D combat could be aided and improved by that feature, as a consequence both of those titles have went on to earn legendary status. As of right now the upcoming Zelda Wii game stands on a position where it can cause the exact same kind of impact the first 2-D and 3-D games of the series had in the entire industry.

In the past Nintendo has set in stone many of the gameplay standards that are now mostly taken for granted since they are pretty much everywhere, and if the company's track record proves to be accurate they are on their way to making history once again. The first Zelda game to be completely produced with the Wii's hardware in mind will make extensive use of the Motion Plus for Sword movement and probably to a few other items and activities many of us will only discover once the game is released in less than two years. If the game's execution manages to convince both players and, most importantly, game developers that 1:1 Motion Controls can vastly improve the overall gaming experience the next Zelda may turn out to be the first in a series of fantastic titles that make great use of the Motion Technology. And as a consequence it will lead the industry into a new path.

Being so far away from its release date the whole idea of an industry revolution sounds silly and totally farfetched, but when you look at both Nintendo's and Zelda's past believing the game has a chance of doing something so big suddenly does not look like such a big lunacy. However, as it happens on all competitive industries, this is not a one horse race as both Sony and Microsoft are cooking up their own fantastic Motion devices and God only knows what software they have to back their products up. And before you can say "I hate motion controlled games" what seemed like a battle to squeeze bucks out of a new audience may amount to a battle to be the first one to take the industry in a new direction.

Was a good event yesterday's, and i began to change and enjoy more my life.

It was a dancing and modeling event totally good, the music was really awesome, the dancers do a wonderful job while the models did not stay behind and made people clap excited(like me), there was also a dance in honor of MJ that was really enjoyable because the dancers make a great choreography, and the event finish with all the staff of the academy sing and dancing songs of Christmas to dismiss the 2009, so i spent a nice time there.

Another thing i want to tell you all is that i finally have less fear to overcome my fears, i said before that go out alone to anywhere or to a party/reunion scare me, but now i feel that those things are great and make me enjoy a good time with my friends, i began to go to the party“s with the help of my friends at school, i feel good having people that can always be with me and say what i am doing wrong and good, and now i can say: we need friends, seriously they are something memorable that passes through your life and that must take care, Thanks For Reading.

One Of My Busiests Weekends

I have three projects: I am working on a play (not in the play, actually, wrote the first act of it for my Playwriting course). I am finished with that, but have been constantly reading through it making changes and editing. I like what I have. Second is my costume project, on corsets. The paper is donw, the setup is complete, the pictures have been found, so now all I need to do is set it up. Finally, I have my sex & gender paper. I am comparing two different exercise routines to discuss the gender ideologies in them. One is for women, dance to get in shape. The second is for men, called the Caveman routine. Easy to see the stereotypes in them by just the names.

I am killing time again, from my work. But my big focus now is my paper. I want to be done with all 3 things by Monday. Well, actually, 2 are due Monday, the play and the paper. The project is also due this week, but in the clas.s, there are like 10 people ahead of me. And projects are 5-10 minutes, so I will go the last day. Then I am finished with school, for the semester anyway.

Many magazines are doing a review of the decade. I saw Rolling Stone's best albums and songs. I had to disagree with some of the list. And, perhaps I am biased for saying this, but I felt Evanescence should have been on the list, one of them, at least for song for "Bring Me To Life." I want to do a review of the decade, but I can't help but feel as if I am biased doing it, choosing my favorites. Unless I call it my favorites of the decade. I actually can remember this decade. I was way too young in the 90s to make a list. At the turn of the century (because it was that), I was 11. That's a good age to remember.

DVD Purchases of Late

I haven't really done many DVD purchasing this year until the past month.

In store at Target in either October or November:
When Harry Met Sally

Amazon (early November):
Mr. Show (Seasons 1-4)
Arrested Development (Seasons 1-3)

Amazon (Black Friday week)
Wolverine (1 disc)
Little Miss Sunshine
Sunshine Cleaning
Fanboys (for 7.99, was 3.99 on Friday)

On the way via Amazon:
Zohan, Year One, The Hangover, Night at the Museum 2

Best Buy:
Role Models
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (1 disc)
Pineapple Express (1 disc)
Get Smart
Hotel for Dogs
Field of Dreams
Zack and Miri

I haven't bought anything on Cyber Monday. I'm looking though. Don't get me wrong. If I get anything, it's gonna be on the cheap.

The only other purchase this weekend was my 2010 wall calendar, which is a 30 Rock calendar. I saw a Wolverine calendar at Borders early this month but sad to say, it wasn't live action photos. I thought about Barnes and Noble but Amazon always has the cheaper price. I'm doing a free trial membership of Amazon Prime so I can get things in two days rather than wait a week or two!

I'm going back to SC this weekend for opening night of the new revue, which is gonna be fun.

Assassin's Creed 2

I preordered this from GAME and got it the day before release. Maybe I ought to preorder from them more often if this is what happens. But sadly I can't add it to my Now Playing list. Oh well, will have to wait until tomorrow I guess.

Anyway, what little I've played so far I've enjoyed. Will have to keep playing for more impressions of it.

The almost serious blog, that turned into the blog about MUSIC

Heylo everyone. I haven't blogged in a long time. The thing is, I've just been in one of those no blogging moods. I'd have the idea, hell a whole blog, the layout and everything ready to go, but then no oomph to get it done. It was going to be serious, but since I don't want to do that type of blog anymore, I figured music will do.

So here goes.

duj

As the weeks and months have past, I have been listening to all kinds of music non-stop. You name a genre, I have checked it out. I am always willing to give a genre of music a chance. I'm open-minded, so when something is recommended to me, I'll check it out. So far the music I cannot get into are death/black metal, metal core, screamo, crappy pop (there is some good pop music out there, so hush) and really bad rap music.

I use Last.fm to record everything I've listened to. I joined back in 2005, but started from scratch in June.

So while listening to the music on last.fm, I've found a whole slew of music that I've gotten into. Soon they will be added to my vast collection.

With that stuff done above. I'll talk about the 3 albums I bought on Tuesday.

jk

I grew up on him. He's also from around my way. I had been waiting since October to get this. It got pushed back and I was heated. Then I went to HipHopDX and heard 'Holy Are You'. Good track.

Now I went back to the site and they gave the album 2.5 out of 5. They obviously seem to be obsessed with beats and not words, because like I told my friend Chris, this album will go above people's heads and it did.

Rakim Allah is by far my tie for my favorite rapper ever. The other guy goes by the name of KRS-One. I've listened to this album 4 times already. I'll probably bleed it out by the end of the week.

wm

I discovered them again through last.fm. So far this album s very good. It's nice hard rock that's not trying too hard.

gs

It was just to complete my catalog. And it was a mere $7.99! You can't beat that. And there is a DVD included with it too. I've seen them live a few times, so the live stuff is nice to have.

This game thing here, I must speak of.

Crazy Daisy Weekend

Hi!!

Figured I'd update my blog on my boring life. Well, okay, all but this weekend has been boring. Or depressing... My grandma died a couple weeks ago (sob) and then my mom got really sick, but she's mostly better now thankfully, and I just got out of midterms.

Anyway, this past weekend was EPIC EXTREME! Btw, I'm a reporter for WormholeRiders.com now, so a more detailed report is to come.

I went to Farscape/Stargate Con in Los Angeles. First time ever in LA and I didn't leave the hotel! And I don't even care cuz it was still amazing. My inner geek flourished. Anyway, here's some highlights:

I chatted with Virginia Hey (Zhaan) for a reeeeaaaally long time. She talks a lot, but that's a good thing. She's very interesting! I fully enjoyed it. For realz, her, me and Meagan talked for over an hour. So cool!

I got to do interviews with a couple of the stars, which was awesome! I just wish I hadn't lost my voice because I was supposed to be the interviewer, but I couldn't speak loudly, so I had to switch to cameragirl.

I met Claudia Black again! And she remembered me! Not my name, but I really wasn't expecting that. I wasn't even expecting her to recognize me. I said "I met you at Polaris and it pretty much made my summer." She said thanks and without hesitation added "You cut your hair." Even my best friends barely noticed the change. I replied that I had dyed it and she said she loved the color (same as hers) and that it looked great and really suits me! Personally I thought it made me look like Wednesday Addams, but whatever, now I need to keep it. I'll never ever ever change my hair color ever again xD

And Ben and Claudia were SO good looking for their photo ops. And about everything else...

Shanks was awesome! He told me he loved my shirt, which said, "Where's my Daniel?" on it. And he hugged me for the op. I was like "SQUEEE!!!" afterwards.

Lani Tupu told me he hopes I feel better soon from my allergic reaction and Gigi Edgley wished me good luck on my midterm. She also personalized and signed the CD and comic I bought from her.

Wow, what else... I showed Paul Goddard the Farscape parody from Stargate SG-1 for the first time. As in, he'd never seen it before. He really liked it. And I can never touch my iPod again, as it has to be framed...

Eek... I can't believe I almost forgot... Meagan did karaoke with Sanctuary star Ryan Robbins. Actually they really hit it off. Here's the link.

Man, seriously, my brain is on such a high right now...

Oh! Claudia brought her kids to the con. Her oldest actually came onstage at one point. No pics were allowed once he removed his Batman mask and the whole audience complied because she deserves her wishes to be respected. Anyway, they were both adorable! It was very cool. I can actually say now that I played peek-a-boo with Claudia's youngest son (who was practically entranced by Meagan and I).

Also... I just met so many amazing people. So many awesome fellow Scapers. Everyone was so talkative and excited to be there! Great energy! Plus, so great to finally meet my CBO friends in person. Not all of them, sadly, but Matt, Carlo, Meagan and Jael. Shared a room with Meagan, too. She's awesome. They're all awesome. Ack. This whole thing was great!

I'll have a far more eloquent report by time I finish it for Wormhole Riders. xD

Hmm maybe I'll edit this later with pics and stuff but I gotta go!

Happy Halloween! .. Oh no it's raining.

Looks like another soggy Halloween. Poor kids are gonna have a horrible time Trick'R'Treating in this. I think there are 3 days of the year it should be forbidden to rain: Halloween, Christmas, and Canada Day.
*Also the Marijuana March for those inbibed.

People wearing pine tree costumes.

It's the worst when you're a kid; one time I dressed up as a robot or something and all the cardboard fell apart. It's just not as festive with peoples' decorations keeling over, pumpkins going unlit, and only half as many candy-hunters running through puddles toting umbrellas and galoshes.

Zombie Fisherman from

Even a scary dark coat looks silly when it's made of rubber.

Not to mention poor pubescent Pete; he wanted to take his highschool sweetie to the cemetary for some hot grave action and now she's got a perfect excuse not to go: "I don't want to lie on the wet grass." ***k-blocked!

Avril Lavigne reading about the birds and the bees.

FYI, this video is hilarious. Avril Lavigne teaches safe sex 70s $tyle.

I bet the Exorcist Demons and the Michael Myers of the world take one look outside and say "Gee, it's just not as scary in a yellow raincoat, I guess I'll take this year off." OH: Maybe that's why "Halloween 2" came out in August!

Michael Myers from

Speaking of which, if Jason Voorhes only attacks on Friday October the 13th, why the heck are there so many kids at summer camp in the middle of October?

I guess the only Halloweeners undetered by the morbid weather are Linus and Sally, eagerly awaiting their glorious gourdly deity in all his imaginary splendor.

Linus, Charlie Brown, and Snoopy meet The Great Pumpkin.

Oh, and on a show-that-will-not-be named they had the freakiest Obama mask; It haunts my dreams now. Who would want to dress up as a political leader for Halloween?

Scary Barack Obama mask.

AHHH!! Grinning glossy-eyed madness! Take it away, take it away!

Anyways, Happy Halloween!

GTA 4 probably the most overrated game of all time

Well with the headline you may assume i dint like the game but what really happen I found many frustrating aspect not worthy of the 10 giving to it by gamespot, ign, gameinformer and many sites and magazines. Let start with the story that won best story on g4tv,well is not that great,I still consider gta 3 the game in the franchise with the best story. You see the problem is it starts to slow and later on it doesn't get that exciting it feel more like a improvising than the true epic story that you may expect from the game.Apart from that the graphics are good but not excellent like mgs4 or k2.The city look alive but the problem is that the characters in the game look a bit flat when you see them around you don't feel them with the next gen look that you may expect. Also the graphical glitches are everywhere again but i think that is more like a tradition than a problem.Moving on the game is short in terms of story in my first try it only took me 18 hours, I felt that was to short. On the plus side the game play has being drastically improve, the shooting mechanism is spectacular and driving although more challenging and realistic it feels better to. With the addition of the cellphone and Internet to the franchise you feel like more near of real life but you see the give up some old things. For an example you cant get fat or slim, change your hair style and only have a limited selection of close. I felt that san adreas was a test drive to open gta 4 but in those aspects san andreas sadly is better.Side mission aren't that exciting, but they change the package feature for something better.GTA 4 problems are basically they took to step forward in many aspect of the game play but forgot what make the franchise better than other.Wait later for my full review but I have to say is not a bad game but is not excellent either.

Thoughts on Uncharted 2 Beta

The Uncharted 2 beta was closed to a few select individuals during June. But yesterday, it went live for the entire world to play. I started downloading it at around midnight so I woke up and found it. It's a little under 1.3 GB.

The beta/demo provides a few maps for team deathmatch, objective mode (which I still didn't try), and one map from the singe-player to be used as co-op for you and a friend. Packs quite some content. And since then, I practically didn't leave it.

This game is the most impressive game I've EVER played, and that's not an exaggeration of any kind. I mean it. Best ever. Most stable shadows and lighting to date (even more stable than ALL PC games). Gunplay is solid and packs quite a punch. And you always get your chance in the sunlight.

This game is a revolution. One that will change gaming as we know it. And am proud to be a PS3 owner and to be able to witness this withmy own eyes.

And to top it all off, I owned every multiplayer deathmatch game I've played. And I mean it. I did.I even played aco-op level with a friend, my score was triple his.I can even upload videos of my gameplay to show you all? Anyone wanna see?

I can't wait for the actual game to come out! As Gamer_4_Fun said, thank you Naughty Dog.
