One of my 360s died on me. The three red rings of death. I knew it happened. But I thought itonly happened to people who treat their Xbox 360 like crap or just leave it on too long. But no, it died on me, I treat my consoles like my babies. I make sure I don't play too long and always keep them from getting too dusty.

My PS2 is still going strong after 5 years.

I always defened the 360 against people saying they were badly made, but I guess they are.

Holy mother of God. Thats good news for Xbox 360 fans. Sony lost another one. DMC4 is a huge franchise to Sony and now they have to share it.

Now many will think that Sony is in trouble. I do not think so, its Sony for crying out loud. Blu-ray is taking off and with Take-Two up for grabs you never know?

Miyamoto is a respected figure in the videogame world, after all, he created most of our childhood memories as gamers with games like Mario and Duck Hunt on the NES.

But since the creation of the DS and Wii, he has suddenly started criticizing non-inovatitive games. I can see to a certain extent it is true, with mediocre FPSs after another and sequels. I always felt that he had no room to talk, ahem Mario Partys anybody?

Well today at the GDC 07 he said:

11:06: He brings up the top-selling games of 1998, pointing to Nintendo's GoldenEye at the top of the charts and saying that the gamer image was still generally neutral. But by 2004, he said something had changed.

11:07: With Grand Theft Auto and Halo 2 on the top of the charts, Miyamoto said he was getting new questions from reporters, questions about what effects games had on people. Even though sales went up, he said the reputation of the industry went down.

I really do not like this comment at all. He is criticizing two popular games that really have created a strong casual fanbase. After all, how much more casual can you get than GTA and Halo, these games have wide appeal among casual gamers.

Do not get me wrong, I still respect the man, but that comment really upset me. Yes these games a violent, but they also create an experience in which draws the gamer into another world, which he is also trying to do. So just because it is violent, it drags the industry down?.... Yes, GTA created an uproar in the media and conservatives, but what doesn't? I just wanted to let my two cents out and I know some of my friends are Nintendo fans but I really do not agree with his statements. Not only is he criticizing the industry and great Developers like Bungie and Rockstar, he is also criticizing my taste as a gamer.

Ok this time I got a PS3, but this time I am keeping it. I made a good profit on the other last time around on Ebay.

I got a new credit card with no APR for 12 months, so I decided to get a PS3, mainly because I want a Blu-ray player. I got a PS3, along with Resistance Fall of Man and Virtua Fighter 5. I also got some Blu-ray movies, The Prestige, The Departed ( which I already have on HD-DVD but could not resist), The Descent (great horror flick), X-Men 3 and Kingdom of Heaven.

It is really a amazing machine, but sadly it lacks current titles to push it above the Xbox 360. But I do think the PS3 is worth the money. Oh, stop the hating on Sony, they love you.

With the release of the Wii and the PS3, the last generation consoles shall be waved a final goodbye, in terms of game releases. So here are my favorites from last generation.

My first PS2 game. Good times.

Well I got a PS3 for $600. I was in a pickle to sell it or keep it. Its Christmas time, I want to buy my parents some really nice gifts, I am very happy with my Xbox 360 and the HD-DVD player, and I just purchased another HD-TV, a Samsung 56" DLP 1080p tv plus a reciever and 5.1 surround sound for my family room. So more money would definately help. Also my college tuition needs to be paid by the end of the year.

So I sold it, yes I know, a Playstaion fan selling the hard to get PS3? Seriously, it was hard to do. I love the Playstation brand. But its not the end of the world.  I will not get a Ps3 untill MSG4 comes out. The PS3 will be awesome, just that as a current Xbox 360 owner, I feel I can go a little longer without one.

So what did I get for it you ask? I got $1,578.55 off Ebay. I almost made a $1000 profit.

So all in all I don't regret it. I am sorry Sony, I still love you.

I got a PS3 for $600 off a business friend of my mom. The dude bought it for his son but he ran away due to "EMO" problems, so my mom asked what he was going to do with it. So I snagged it.

Anyways, the PS3 60gb are selling pretty well on Ebay, not as high as before. But I work at Best Buy and get mad discounts on HDMI cables, like Monster which run at about $100 for $20, plus good discounts on accessories and games. Should I bundle the PS3 with some stuff and re-sell it?

Yeah I know, I am a Playstation fan and totally against the whole Ebay thing. But its Christmas and the extra money will help me get my parents and family members some good presents.

I am on the fence with this one guys, your advice will be strongly appreciated. And please, no fanboy comments!

There are great games and there are games that really make you say "Thats why I love videogames."

Here are the list of videogames in which impacted me as a videogame player.

Duck Hunt (NES) Thats why I love shooters.

Mario Bros. (NES) Yeah its good to jump on shrooms.

Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Games can have good stories? Wow.

Resident Evil (PS1). Holy Sh*t, that scared the hell out of me.

Halo: Combat Evolved (XBOX). FPSs are good on consoles! Take that PC gamers.

Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS2)  I can do whatever I want, hell yeah.  

Ok well its not Gof of War. Its a movie called "300." Its based on the work of Frank Miller. He is the same dude who did "Sin City". Here are some pictures.

The movie is about  King Leonidas  and his 300 bodyguards as they defend Sparta from the Persian armies of Xerxes. Very cool stuff.

Best Batman movie since the 1989 Batman.

The Thing:

A John Carpenter classic. A true Sci-Fi that rocks. The game is also good if you want a good Survival Horror game.

There is a lot of stuff to buy.

FEAR for the 360 just came out. FFXII came out as well, still debating if I should get it.

If you look at my collection, I don't have too many RPGs. I am a big Playstation fan, yet, out of all the RPGs, Final Fantasy is my least favorite.

One of my favorite RPGs is Final Fantasy VII, yes I know its cliche, but it is really good. Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 are also great.

The thing with RPGs, is that they are sometimes overly complex and too long. Video games are supposed to be fun. If I am going to spend 60+ hours on a game, it better have a good story. Not a cliche story like most and recent JRPGs (Japanese RPGs).

I loved FF7, and FF Tactics. they were both great games. I never finished FF8 b/c I never got attached to the characters.

Oblivion for the X360 is a perfect example on how an RPG can have so much depth, yet not be to overwhelming. the game may not have the best story in the world, but it is a fun game.

The reason I brought this up is b/c my friend and I had a huge discussion about FF12. He got a hold of the Japanese import. The game's battle system is not easy and the story is about politics. Okay one thing I hate is being confused and politics.

I like the FF series mainly b/c of FF7. It had a great story, for its time, and you cared about what happened to the characters.

To many RPGs are cattered to the Hardcore fans and I hate that. Kingdom Hearts, Knights of the Old Republic and Oblivion IV Elders Scrolls are my favorite RPGs.

The next RPG that looks freakin' flippin' awesome is Mass Effect.

Everywhere you go now, except on the Playstation forums, you hear about the how the PS3 is going to fail and the PSP sucks.

Well about the PSP, you have to undertsand that Sony enetered a market where handlheld gamers are a lot more younger  than the average console gamer.

The Gameboy paved the way for  the DS. The DS appeals to younger kids more because, One, they had a Gameboy and they are familiar with the games. Two, it is easier for them to ask there parents to buy a Nintendo product b/c it is cheaper and proven to be family friendly.

THE AVERAGE GAMER IS 30 YEARS OLD. Thats Sony's main market and thats why they won the console wars the last two generations. Thats the same market they are trying to appeal to with the PSP.

The thing with young adults and older adults is that handhelds are generally scene as a children's thing. Why is that? Because of the Gameboy.

This is not a rant bashing Nintendo. I like Nintendo. It's just that I am getting tired of all the PSP hate. PSP is not the only portable to do ports. Gameboy was full of them and the DS has some too.

Both portables are out to accomplish and appeal to different markets. It is just the Nintendo market is dominated by an established fan base when it comes to handhelds.

It does not mean that the PSP sucks. Far from it, there are great titles for it that are more widely appealing. I am also nto saying the Ds is for kids. Thats retarded. I own a DS and I just turned 20.

It is well known that the DS kicks the PSP in world wide sales because of Japan. I work at Best Buy and I asked the supervsor of the media department of what portable sells more and they are pretty much even. So I believe that in the U.S., the race is a little closer than in Japan.

Yeah this was long, sorry guys, just I am tired of all the fanboys saying stuff with out thinking it through.

I have to admit, when I saw Xbox 360 shown off at last years E3 05, I was not to impressed. I totally fell in line with people calling it the next Dreamcast or Xbox 1.5.

The first Xbox was great beacuse of Live. Halo 2 was my life for half a year.

The Xbox 360 may not have a killer app yet, but it is truly a next-gen console.

Xbox Live for the 360 is truly next-generation, the features are amazing, you have this identity on Xbox live. Also the achievement points are genious. It makes me feel like a kid again at an arcade making sure I get the high score in order for people to notice my accomplishments.

So Microsoft has really created a great gaming machine and I would like to give kudos were it is well deserved.

I am a huge Sony fan but I find it hard to believe that Sony will create a free online service to match Live. Its taken Microsoft 5 years to make Live what it is now.

So I will now download some free demos and maybe play some Geometry Wars.

This was a story awhile back but now I decided to put my two cents in.

A RUMOR came up that Sony will not allow game stores to buy or sell used PS3 games a few weeks ago.

Now this may get people to get all pissed off and say "WTF." But in reality it makes sense from a business standpoint. Companies never make any profit after the first copy is sold. So even if the game is bought, then traded in and bought a few more times, they only make the intial profit of the game when it was first bought.

Sony may be trying to please developers who do not make those big name hits like Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fanatsy, Zelda or GTA.

But it Sony decides to charge more than $60 for a game that will really bite the big one. It will also hurt stores like EB and Gamestop.

I never was that into buying used games but now with games being expensive (Xbox 360) I decided to try and buy used games in order to save some money.

So how many of you guys buy used games?
