One Console Under All?
EA recently published a report saying that in the future there will only be one console. This, to some, would decrease costs spent on extra consoles drastically. Well, I have something to say about that. For one, the price of that standalone would be huge. That and we would lose all of our innovation. What did we get from competition? We got the Wii, which is by-far the most innovative piece of gaming machinery available. As far as I'm concerned, I hope there isn't a standalone console. However, we'll just have to give this mind-boggling question a couple of years, and maybe, just maybe, at E3 2010, we could see some light on this topic.

Motion sensing in gaming has existed far before the wii. here ill give you a MS example.but note they weren't first either.

also the wii technology was produced by gyration.inc a wireless motion sensing mouse maker! and also most of innovation happens on the PC! thats a no brainer! this is even true for gaming coz on PC great competition exits between individual parts themselves.
although for CPU's theres only two left! Intel and AMD. but you get the picture. so anyway ideally gamers should've been on PC.but now that consoles are a reality I can see them merging in the future. after all developers are looking for the broadest audience and that can be best achieved with one console!
