Enslaved

I am really looking forward to seeing this band hit Toronto next month.

I am still in awe after seeing Immortal for the second time in NYC last year and meeting them as well.

Blizzard Beasts Immortal

Fitting title for a cd by this most powerful band.
Shame about the poor production on this cd. This cd still is dynamic though. The production on this cd was the only weakpoint in this cd. It was the first to showcase the mighty drumming skills of Horgh. The production of the drums on this cd are somewhat hidden over the other instruments. Abbath's vocals are are cold as ever on this and it shows through every song. Also it is the last cd to show the talent of Demonaz due to problems he suffered with his hand. To this day he is still a part of Immortal in every aspect of this great band, hailing from the cold shores of Bergen.
Overall I like this cd alot and even with the poor production. Still has that cold feeling that only Immortal can bring forth.

Women and Children First Van Halen

I still remember the day when I bought this gem of a lp.
I was hooked on it from the start of the "Cradle will Rock"
This lp to me was much more aggressive to me with a harder sound that the first two.
With all the songs standing out with a bite. Sure it did have the mellow side to it at some points. Eddie Van Halen sure made his guitar sing through it all.
All the songs had a edge to it and Alex Van Halen sure did make "Eveybody wants Some" stand out with his hitting the skins which made that song stand out even more. With Daimond Dave hitting off the high notes and making this song that much better.
"Take your Whiskey Home" is a classic from the start as well. I cannot say a bad thing about this lp at all.

I remember picking this up when it hit Canada.
I picked up the limited edition boxed cd, along with the lp, and the two versions of the picutre disc. I ran to my cd player put the cd in. I was blown away when I heard the opening riffs by Abbath and the pounding drums of the mighty Horgh.
The opening track "Withstand the Fall of Time" was simply stunning , that track set the tone for me. I must have played this track 20 + times that day alone. "Solarfall" was another track that was simply brilliant. Abbath totally took charge of the riffing with this. Eat your heart of Eddie Van Halen haha. The next track "Tragedies Blows at Horizon" Horgh's drumming was so full of charge in that song that it was so fluid. The double bass then with the sudden hits of the snare drum ahhhh great stuff. The next track "Where Dark and Light don't Differ" was another great track with Abbath using a vocal effect that had good grip on me drawing me more into the song, what can I say but brilliant. The next song took a hold on me like no other. To this day " At the Heart of Winter" has a grip on me like no other Immortal song has with the exception's of "Mountains of Might" and " Battles in the North" . Damm that song has a wicked groove to it as only Abbath and Horgh can do! Both the axe of Abbath and the drumming of horgh meshed together like peanut butter and jelly. I have never heard such a perfect mix. Last but not least is "Tears of Silent Sorrow" that put the nail on this masterpiece for me. Good closing song on what I think is the best of the new version of Immortal. With the "Sons of Northern Darkness" neck and neck with this for the finish and this cd winning by a hair.
I have to say anyone into extreme metal should get their hands on this cd. Immortal really is extreme metal at it's finest. All of these songs on this output have that cold feeling that only Demonaz can put together with this deadly duo of Abbath and Horgh.
Buy it now!!!! You will not be disappointed at all.

The Batallion Hard Rock/Metal
""
I first heard Batallion from the main man Stud Bronson. Being a big fan of his from his early days in Old Funeral and Bombers I knew I would latch on to this.
All the songs have the Old School Thrash Metal vibe. All 4 songs spew forth the intensity that the metal scene has been missing since the days of Deathrow "Riders of Doom", Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill" and Razor's " Evil Invaders".
I highly recommend this 4 song e.p to anyone who is into metal.
Alot of the Old school bands as many know have changed through the times to settle in with the new. Thus this cd brings back a old flame that has been absent in this time.
Songs that define old school to the max are " Hate at last sight" to me it brings back a favorite feel from Celtic Frost. With the opening vocal of Stud Bronson.
Also "Victims" which begins with ALLRIGHT.
This is essential. They are in the studio now preparing a full length to unleash upon mankind.
BUY IT!!!!!! NOW!
