My two greatest addictions: InuYasha & Prince

I know. This is the weirdest combination anyone could come up with, but it couldn't be more true.

After watching the Super Bowl HalfTime show Sunday, I'm into Prince and finding out more about him and listening to his music, no matter how provocative the lyrics are. Even since seeing "Purple Rain" (the 2nd half anyway), he's had this spell over me. I don't hestitate to see him perform on TV when I hear about it and when he does, I can't take my eyes off him no matter what he sings. Usually, the hype only lasts a day or so. This is two days afterwards and I'm still on a "sugar rush" because I heard some of his music yesterday.

It's so indescribable, the spell he casts when I watch him. Never before have I given him this much thought. With the Internet in front of my 24/7, I guess that's something to do with it. My biggest problem is that once I start talking about him, it's hard to stop until I've said everything that needs to be said. I could ramble for hours about the guy.

He and InuYasha have a lot in common because they have a similar hold on me. With InuYasha, I can't help waiting no matter how late at night it is and it's something that lives in my thoughts for a considerable amount of time. I encounter Prince less often, but once he's in my thoughts, it's hard to let go.

Most likely, just because I've spent more than enough time with InuYasha, Prince has a stronger grip on me. It could be anything, from his music to his dancing to his singing or most likely, how hard he jams on guitar.

He's cast a spell on me and there's no telling what will happen next. It's a spell that will most likely not break no matter what he does or says. Even so, when I watched InuYasha last night, I was so into it just because I haven't seen those ep's very much and it's a very pivotial point in the series.

Can any InuYasha fan top the night I've had?

I'm completely out of my mind right now, but I still believe it was all worth it. I stayed up nearly all night long to watch the InuYasha movie marathon. On top of that, I also watched their showing of ep. 1 just because it was there.

I've done some outrageous stuff before (staying up until 4:30 am to watch Movie 3 twice),  but this tops it all. Not that I'd do it again, but I sure had a great time.

Movie 4 was worth the wait, but I still rank it towards the bottom of my list with Movie 1... I mean, Movie 1 had some cute moments, but I liked Kikyo better in Movie 4, so that counts for something. I liked Sesshomaru's battle scenes, but they just seemed to end so fast... and he looks like he's not even trying (heh, that's Sesshomaru). I loved all of the little half-demons that they had in the movie because I just have a little affection for half-demons. Oddly, it seemed like Inuyasha had a bigger attitude in that movie than all of the other ones. Either way, it was still pretty good.

Movie 3, this was my 5th time seeing it and even so, it doesn't get old. I love seeing Sesshomaru and Inuyasha fighting, not to mention I love the prologue scene with Inuyasha's parents, so cool.

Movie 2 looked really good on a bigger screen (opposed to YouTube) and the commericals were pretty reasonable. Then, having seen so much of Inuyasha, I was on the edge of losing it when he "turned to the dark side", even if I had seen that scene several times before. Then the kiss was really awesome because I could really see the characters  and I was like "awww". Then seeing ep. 1 after all this, kinda messed with my head a little, but I got used to it pretty quick. Still kinda wish they didnt do that, but whatever, I don't make the rules.

I'm just grateful that I didn't get caught staying up that late to watch InuYasha. That would have spoiled the whole thing... but I don't think anyone except my younger sister (fellow Inu fan) knows about it. I give the 4th movie about 8.5 out of 10. My order is Movies 3, 2, 1/4 (I can't decide on 1 and 4 yet cuz i've only seen them a few times).

So, I've done the craziest thing yet for my love of the series. Here's my list of crazy things:

1) seen every ep. of Inuyasha in a little more than a year

2) became a YouTube addict to watch ep's and AMV's

3) wrote a fanfic that I later converted to an original love story

4) Made a YouTube video and a slideshow about Inuyasha's human/demon forms

5) Celebrate the new moon by watching Inuyasha's human transformations

6) Stayed up until 4:30 am to see two showings of the 3rd movie

7) Made a habit of watching one Inu ep. every single day and freak out if that streak is ever broken

8. Stayed up until 6am to watch 12/23's InuYasha movie marathon and ep. 1

I doubt anyone could top this... and I did all this all in a little more than a year of discovering the series. I'm officially insane for InuYasha and possibly crazy in love with Lord Sesshomaru, as he and Inuyasha are my two favorite characters (tied for first place)

Edit: I just topped myself

In one day, I bought the Season 3 Box Set, Inu Movie 2, ep's 49-51 (Shattered Memories) and ep's 133-135 (The Woman who Loved Sesshomaru) all in one day. We're talking about over $250 here! I totally outdid myself, but that means I should be good for the rest of my life in regards to Inuyasha. Still, I gave myself quite a high there, still the high I got from that marathon from December 23rd knows no comparison, but I won't do it again, heh.

YouTube has annoyed me before, but this time, it's personal

Usually, it's not so bad. I like a few Inuyasha videos, save a few ep's to my favorites and make playlists of my fav. aspects, like one for Sesshomaru, one for Kikyo & Inuyasha and one for Human Inuyasha.

But then those... guys... decide that the stuff is copyrighted and needs to be removed. I've dealt with it ever since I got back here to college where I can freely access and watch videos from the site. And I've gotten over several of the videos that have been removed. All of the ep's under Kikyo & Inuyasha's playlist are all gone because of this, but I've moved on.

Several times, the ep's where Inuyasha is human have been erased, but I've dealt with that too... I always find new ones in time for the new moon, though not all of them.

Occasionally, the videos that are lost are theme songs, that's no big deal. Then there are videos that I hardly even watch, so I kinda miss out on those. A few of my fav. Sesshomaru videos got erased and I really liked one of them, I'm sure I'll find plenty more that I like.

But what's got me really steamed is that my own video, my very first video on YouTube got erased and they had the nerve to send me, not one, but two emails saying the exact same thing "Your video have been removed due to copyright infrigement". A: One email would be enough, you don't have to run it in.

And B: I can't say this enough, if the videos we upload are just getting erased, don't let us upload them in the first place! I swear I'm so sick of that. I worked so hard to get my video perfect, even if it is a slideshow, I'd figure I'd be under the radar because I really haven't done all that much but save/watch other people's videos. Not only did I like it, but it was starting to get noticed. I got two comments, which isn't much, but it's better than nothing.

Someone would probably just say to me, "Upload it again"... I'm not sure if I can. A) I'd risk losing my account and have to get all of my favorites back and B) I don't want to get my heart broken again. I love the video I came up with and can't believe that they can just do that. It's not as easy as it looks. I'm a newbie movie maker. I don't know how many more ways I can put it. I'm sick of YouTube erasing my favorite videos.

If I wasn't nuts for InuYasha before, I am now

I spent this entire weekend (Friday to Sunday) working on a slideshow about Inuyasha's human and demon halves. It first started as a quest to find the song I heard in the background of a similar YouTube slide show. I finally found it and how to put it into Powerpoint. Then I spent a lot of time figuring how to time it just right. I then decided to get it on YouTube, but I had to convert my PowerPoint to a Microsoft Video Maker file and that to a Winamp file. That took even more time. Then when I finally finished and published it, I found out that I had one wrong picture, so I had to fix my slideshow movie, but I was able to add more effects and timing some of the slides better, so that helped.

I finally got the slideshow to go as I want it with the correct timing for each slide, as perfect as I can get it. It's read-only so I can't touch it anymore.

I'm already a perfectionist, but an InuYasha perfectionist, forget it. :laughing insanely:

And that song is killing me now cuz I've heard it nearly 100x over the course of three days. The fact that it's been on my mind [Inuyasha] for nearly 96 straight hours is proof enough that I'm an extremely dedicated fan. Or maybe I'm just really crazy, you guys be the judge of that;

Anyway, here's the finished product.

[this video was erased due to copyright infrigement]

Please see it and review it for me, just so I know how I did. The version I just posted is verson 3.0 and the final version. I think it's really good, personally, but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

Just this morning, I saw it on YouTube and loved it. That makes me feel a little better. I've seen at least 1 ep. of Inuyasha for 150 days straight... then last night, I decided to close my ears aroudn 12:15... I woke up at 1 and missed it, so I was furious with myself. At least it wasn't 160, which shows tonite. I love "The Lucky, but Two-timing Scoundrel", the ep. and the guy that it mentions, lol

FullMetal Alchemist and Sesshomaru-sama

Yeah, I think I've pretty much crossed a few lines.

1) I'm reading into Sesshomaru's emotions and I can't get that picture of him smiling out of my head (ep. 34). And he does smile a bit, but its usually a sneaky, closed-mouth smile. His emotion are all in the eyes... okay, it's official, I'm nuts for the guy. But it's a different kinda nuts than with Inuyasha, although I want to start analysing Sesshomaru the same way, I dont think I could do that to him... takes the mystery out of him.

2) FullMetal has started over from ep. 1, but I've been losing sleep cuz I stay up to 1:30 to watch it. I figured I needed a break from it... but then I started watching it on YouTube one ep. at a time and I'm slowly getting the idea of the series. I enjoy it because it makes me think. Not to mention there are no fillers (except for maybe 1), so it's like a long epic journey with a continuous storyline with a few flashbacks sprinkled in. And the ending did the series justice, even though it leaves a bit of a cliff-hanger, I was completely set to live with it. Then the movie came it and just like the third Inuyasha movie, it did the series justice and had a great ending. I have one anonymous dream about Edward Elric and I'm gone... its' like one of those great epic tales, but I gotta see it all in sequence so I can truly get the gist of the whole thing.

Yeah, I know, I've got too much free time on my hands
