Dude!
At least we aren't the Lions
I think that I found the one thing that's worse than Scrappy Doo or the tv.com redesign.
The entire Detroit Lion organization.
There are no words to describe how bad the Lions are this decade. The Lions in 11 games have had more cringeworthy moments than all of the Uwe Boll movies combined.
Matt Millen should be rehired by the Lions as a janitor than fired just because of putridity that was reign of error in Detroit.
Some kind of Harmony is on the rise.
That line has added meaning now.
Yes, we did.
I can't believe my eyes
Well, actually I can.
The color scheme is actually hurting my eyes. This white is way too bright. I'm mean I fell like I have been looking directly at the sun for five minutes (Yes, I know staring at the sun for five minutes isn't the smartest thing to do.) after trying to read anything here for a 20 seconds. And I got new glasses this week, and it's still that bad.
And well tv.com's redesign gave me an idea for a top five lists. It's the top five worst replacements, redesigns, additions, and successors.
5) Ray Handley (New York Giants coach from 1991-1992). He replaced Bill Parcells and promptly turned a Super Bowl winning to into dormats within two years with basically the same players.
4) Brett Ratner (Replaced Bryan Singer as director of X3: The Last Stand). If you have seen X3, you understand.
3) New Coke. Self-explanatory.
2) The tv.com redesign. Again, self-explanatory. All the problems have been discussed, so I don't need to repeat them here.
1) Scrappy Doo. The worst character in the history of television.I mean he was just terrible and annoying. And not cute whatsoever.
Oh my God! Yes!
On Wednesday, when I got my hair cut, I also got it shampooed.
It was heavenly.
There are only a few other experiences in the world that can match the sense of, well, relaxation of getting of your hair shampooed by someone who knows how to shampoo.
My hair is still all tingle-y.
If you haven't had your hair shampooed by a professional, you are missing out because it is so very awesome.
Go now, get your hair shampooed at your local Supercuts or similiar type place. It will be worth it.
I'm not worried
Even though production is being halted for Dollhouse for two weeks. I see it as nothing but a good thing because Joss can write even better scripts.
Although I' m worried about the Redskins being absolutely terrible this season despite the fact I had lowered my expectations coming into this season.
We will have more information on the developing story about the breaking news...
...that Brett Farve was traded to the Jets.
Finally! The long national nightmare is over.
Oh, the national nightmare was his status. The nightmare was the 700 gazillion hours used to cover this "saga"
Now, maybe I get a 24-hour reprieve about the most overhyped "will they or won't they" since Ross and Rachel from whatever the hell year Friends became overrated.
He's a good player and all, but now he feels like Doyle (from Angel)to me. All this love that is shown to him, I'm talking to you ESPN, Peter King and John Madden, (especially you Madden), starts to get under my skin like Doyle. You know, the character in Angel who lasted 9 episodes, but the 50 percent of the Angel fandom thinks he's the most awesomest character ever. He has approximately 75 percent of the threads in the Angel forum dedicated to him.
I half expected to see Chris Mortensen to start do minute-to-minute reports from Farve's bathroom.
Well, now, the deal's done and he's playing for the Jets. Now he'll fade away into background.
Where do the Jets play again?
*Auntie whispers that the Jets play in New York*
Oh, ****.
It's never going to stop, is it?
Vote for Juniper Lane
Hola friends,
Wellm I'm here asking you to vote for Juniper Lane to open for Coldplay on their Washington D.C. show here. (They are the fifth video from the bottom.) You can only vote once per IP address, and you have until July 17th to vote. I went on the Browncoat Cruise with their drummer, Eddie Pasa, back in December.
Their official website is here, and here's a link to their media page with a video page of their performances.
Thanks.
Viacom is just evil. I mean totally evil!
Well, I just read some distrubing news(via Felicia Day's twitter feed).
Yes, Viacom can now sue you for viewing copyrighted material via youtube. It's ****** rediculous! This is way low. I know it's "their" material, but are they daft? Don't they know that these fan-vids and clips are free ******* advertising. Honestly, are they that cheap? Wow! That's all I can say. Stupid fracking suits. It's sad that this judge sided with a big company to completely frack over the millions and millions of people who use youtube for their enjoyment. I find it funny that Google is safe from getting sued by Viacom. So, now I have to make sure that none of the videos I watch have any Viacom material in it? This is not for the artists, it is for the melon-farming executives who screw over said artists just to line their own pockets.
What's next? I can't make up a digital backup of a DVD I buy? Oh, in Canada, that might just happen!
Frackity-frack.
Dr. Horrible
Hey guys, I got some news for you, the Dr. Horrible Teaser Trailer is online. Remember Dr. Horrible is co-writter by that Joss Whedon dude, staring Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and Neil Patrick Harris with Cameos by Marti Noxon and David Fury. Oh my!
Watch it now and tell all of your friends. Heck, tell you're enemies. Or your frienemies!
Wizard World Philadelphia
Alo!
Well, yesterday I went to Wizard World Philadelphia on a whim. The reason why is that Katee Sackoff was the VIP guest on Sunday. I knew she was going to be there a few weeks ago, but I thought I couldn't afford it so I passed. However, I had a couple of more assignments than expected in the last few weeks, so I figured I had enough cash to attend. So I ordered the tickets on Friday night/Saturday morning.
I arrived a little after noon, and I meandered around the convention floor for about two hours, looking at comics and some swag. I managed to buy "Batman: The Dark Night Returns", "Civil War" issues 1-7, a Serenity t-shirt with a picture of the cast on the back with a few free goodies.
Around 2, I decided to walk to the line where Katee's signing was. I think the line covered a quarter of the convention room's outer wall. I spent the next hour waiting in line, talking to people around me and such. The way they organized the line was pretty good, they ususally sent 20 people at time where Katee was staged. I managed to get two things signed and talked to her for a few minutes. There is a story that will be told at a later date. I will explain then.

The photo above is Katee signing one of my autographs with the security guard throwing me into the picture, telling me and her to smile for the picture. There was another of me and Katee talking but somehow the site isn't letting me load it.
After getting my autographs, I spent the next 15-20 minutes meandering around the hall, looking for something that caught my eye, but nothing did, so I went home.
Here are more photos of my experience.
Peace
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Just came back from a screening of Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and well it was awesome. It was a fun little movie that almost anyone can enjoy, unless you hate fedoras and bad wigs.
Like what are you waiting for? Why are you still reading this blog, go see it now. I'm not asking, I'm telling. ![]()
That is all.
ETA: Now since I have had time to think about the movie, I still think it is a fun, entertaining movie, which I recommend to anyone who likes good adventure. I thinksit's not as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, but a little better than The Temple of Doom.
Sleepless in Seattle
I have a new blog up at The Random Ramblings of a crazygolfa.
It's about the probable move of the Seattle Supersonics and how shameful of the actions of the majority involved.
If you are a sports fan, it's a must read, and if not, it is a must read as well because it involves the theft of something that causes civic pride, which some sports teams are.
Amy Acker is in Dollhouse.
Yes, it's true.
I know, I know, I'm posting this everywhere, but this is awesome news. (And I wanted to beat NickSeng and Grailwolf to the punch.) ![]()
You can go ahead and squee now.
Browncoat Cruise DVD
As most of you know, four months ago, (It's been four months already? Where did the time go?) I went on the Browncoat Cruise. As I said before, the cruise was gorram awesome.
Great memories. ![]()
When I was on the Cruise I brought myself the three-disc DVD set for the Cruise. Well, yesterday in the mail, I got a little gift in the mail. One disc was given to me on the cruise, which was about 30 minutes of shiny things. Well, yesterday, the rest of the set came in the mail. The set came with the original disc I got because of an error on the disc menu. Now, I have two copies of the the Memories Keepsake.
The other two discs have unedited coverage of all the panels and concerts. The first disc has four hours and 38 minutes of Cruise Coverage featuring:
1) Opening Ceremonies.
2) Sonny Rhodes Concert from opening night.
3) The VIP Panel.
4) A joint concert by Sonny Rhodes and the Bedlam Bards.
That's it. Over four hours of Browncoat Goodness on one disc.
On disc 2, there is four hours and 22 minutes:
1) Michael Fairman's wife singing three songs.
2) The Costume Contest
3) Kareoke Night (10 seconds of me singing in the first scene of the chapter)
4) Hawke's part of the Bedlam Bards Concert. (Cedric had food posioning).
5) And many more.
Oh, frak, it's my 50th blog here at the Fraud, it's kind of appropiate that's it about the Browncoat Cruise.
Mutant Enemy Day
Well, as promised, the photos from my trip from Mutant Enemy day for the WGA strike.
I spent most of the day walking in one big giant circle. I did manage to talk to Joss, Nicholas and Felicia Day. I got a high five from J. August Richards. I'm too lazy to post them here, but you can visit the link to see the 11 I managed to take. My camera was losing juice, so I had to selectively pick and choose what photos I took.
Just look at the pictures and comment, ifyou don't have a flickr account. Don't worry, all you need is a yahoo! account, and you have a flickr account. You just need to sign in.
And, yes, I support the WGA.
The Big Damn Cruise
Howdy, friends.
I'm back home from the Browncoat Cruise, and boy, it was really fun. I had so much fun, and spent way too much money, but I will never regret it. I will describe it you on a day-by-day basis. I will post some of the photos here, but most of them will be on my flickr page.
Friday (11/30)
The flight out to San Diego was okay until the end when the pilot had to pull up at the last second for some reason after we got below the ceiling of clouds. So we had to circle San Diego for about 20 minutes before we landed. After we landed, I was greeted by rain, which may have been only one of the 10 days of the year in San Diego it actually rains. So I walked around in the rain before the pre-cruise shindig just taking in the sites of the city. Then came the shindig, which was really fun. Saw the Bedlam Bards play a song. They are a cool group. Saw Jonathan Woodward at the party. Right before I went to bed, me and Woodward went up the elevator together. Nice guy. I went to sleep at 11 p.m. local time because at that point I had been up for like 23 hours, Jonathan Woodward noticed that I had the look that I had been up for a long time.
Saturday (12/1)
Got up at 9, got breakfast. Got in line for the bus to the ship, MS Elation/Serenity. Got on the ship around 1:30. Spent next 2.5 hours getting lost on the ship. Then got ready for dinner. Sat at my table which was next to celebrity table which had Sonny, Nectar, Jonathan, and Ron's table. Michael Fairman sat with his family, For three of the five nights I sat with my roomate Mike, John and his girlfriend Janette, Molly and Blue, and Alan, his daughter Audrey, his wife Beth and his friend Julia. All very nice. Opening ceremonies after dinner were a hoot, with Jonathan playing a ukelele. Ron teased about a comic concerning Shepard Book's past. Nectar and Micheal were hilarious. Following the opening ceremonies, went to a joint concert with Sonny and the Bars. It was really neat.
Sunday (12/2)
Sunday was photo day with the celebrity guests. I had my picture taken with Ron Glass and Jonathan Woodward seperately, and the whole gang. There all signed, so they will posted on Tuesday's post. After the photo ops, I spent the rest of the day exploring the ship, hitting the casino. Then we had formal night at dinner, which was nice. After the dinner, we had the celebrity panel which was awesome. Nectar Rose did the robot, which was awesome and incredibly hot. Michael Fairman did two dances which were hilarious. Michael Fairman also answered a question from his daughter which you had to hear to believe. All I have to say about that is when he was answering, Ron said. "This is your daughter you're answering." Also Micheal Fairman answered I asked in the Niska voice which was hilarious. Nectar pulled me up to the stage to ask the question. So Nectar touched me. Ron also said the comic about Book's past will be called A Shepard's Tale.
Monday (12/3)
Our day in Cabo. I took the Cabo by Land and Sea tour. We took the Sea portion first, and while on the catamaran, I went to Ron and compared guns.

Ron is a big guy up close. We at lunch at a place called Jasmin's. I think that Jasmine is trying to restart her thrall will a resturant with very good food.
After the tour, some of us went to Cabo Wabo to have a shot of tequila. But most importantly, I got this picture taken of me. Knowing our inside stories, I knew I had to take it. Sorry, ladies no tighty-whities.
After getting back to the ship, I had my dinner with Jonathan Woodward, which was an experience. He tried to start a foodfight with the people sitting at the table next to us. He also ate a cherry out of the hair out of the girl's hair sitting next to him. He couldn't get a drink because the barwaiter would always leave before getting his order. I couldn't eat sometimes without almost choking because he was so darn funny. During a mid-dance, Jonathan jumped on the chair and did the "Will you go down low song". After the dinner, I watched the end of the Patroit-Raven Football game with Ron Glass. While watching the game, I heard Micheal Fairman's wife sing, and her voice was absolutely beautiful. I went to a viewing afterwards and watched part of Done the Impossible (Saw the Easter Egg which Jewel Staite rapped out composting, always hilarious.) and War Stories.
Tuesday (12/4)
Started the day with autographs. I got two from Ron Glass, one each from Woodward, Rose, Rhodes, and Fairman and here they are.
Ron Glass, who I talked basketball with.
He said "Where are your guns?"
Another Ron Glass Autograph.
Here is me with Jonathan M. Woodward. He wrote to have "Great to Have you here."
And finally, me with the whole group with autographs from Sonny, Nectar and Michael.
After the autographs, I particiapted in the sing-a-long and the trivia contest. I won the lightning round and got "Five Seasons of Angel". The Tueday night dinner was uneventful cept for the Dance where I saw from about 20 feet away Jonathan chair dancing to the macarena and Nectar leading a congo line. After dinner, there was kareoke. I got up and sang, but the highlight may have been the group singalong of "Walk Through the Fire" , which Ron told me that I had the spirit of the song, and "I'll Never Tell", which Jonathan sang Anya's part. Ron saw that I had the spirit. Nectar sung backup to "We Will Rock You" and Jonathan sang back up to another song. All four verse guest then got up and danced together. It was funny. After the kareoke, I saw half of the Bards sang, (Cedric had food poisoning) which was fun.
Wednesday-Thursday (12/5-6)
We were supposed to goto Ensenada, but the condition at the port prevented it. Most of the people signed for the Fox Studio tour. So once again Fox screws the Browncoats. So we had the "Not Ensenada" day. There was a group screening for Serenity. Dinner was uneventful as we were back in our original seats, and no shenannigans by Woodward. That came later in the night. At the closing ceremonies, the guests said one final thing. There is where I found out that I won a Summer Glau autograph picture. Woodward once again played the yukelele. After the ceremonies, the other half of the Bards sang, but once again the other half got sick. (Hawke got food poisoning.) Cedric perfomed great versions of Leaf on the Wind, On the Drift, "Kaylee", and Mal/Saffron's wedding song. After the Bards concert, Jonathan led a group of us crashing two hang out places. The last night of the cruise was the only time I got drunk, which was Woodward's fault. He also made me smoke and gave me his email address, which none of you will get. I brought him a drink and he got distracted by my college ring. That's all I remember from the last night.
I am still having some problems with sea-legs.
I will post other pictures when I get them from my friend, cause I ran out of batteries during the ME strike day (which will be a seperate blog), and he was the one who got me flexing with Ron Glass. There may be a photo of me having dinner with Woodward posted.
Vacation
Hey, look, an actual post.
I will be starting my vacation tomorrow, but it won't be just a normal vacation. It's going to be a cruise, specifically the Browncoat Cruise. Yay. I will spend five days and night about the Carnival Elation with some of my fellow Browncoats as well as the guys who did Done the Impossible and several celebrity guests.
Who are these celebrities you ask? They are Ron Glass (Shepard Book), Micheal Fairman (Adelai Niska), Nectar Rose (Lenore the Love Bot in Serenity), the Bedlam Bards, Sonny Rhodes (sings the Firefly Theme) and Jonathan M. Woodward (Tracey). Yay.
I will be getting autographs from the majority of them, a photo op with all of them, and the best thing about this is, I am having dinner with Jonathan Woodward. Yay.
The thing is aboot the trip I will be away from the computer for the next week.
When I get back, I will post pictures.
Lilah Morgan for President
Read Here for more details.
Narrator: This is a special report from Fox News.
Shepard Smith: Major news coming out a Las Angeles lawfirm this afternoon, which could shake the foundation of the 2008 Presidential Election. The lawfirm of Wolfram and Hart says they are calling a press conference at 10 p.m. tonight to announce a new candidate. Wait, I hear it is happening right now, so lets go to L.A.
KCP (press secretary): Thanks to an underground movement by several members of the Angel'Tome back in 2004, which created interest in this woman's candidacy for the President of the United States for next year. This group of people recorded conversations, came up with a platform that matched this woman's ideal platform, made speeches and more to show the viability of her candidacy. All of this proved to be true. She felt honored, but she insisted that she would stay retired in her beautiful home. This movement did not stop however, it grew strongers as the people with the leadership in Washington D.C. Yhen, an unfortunate incident in Stacy Travis campaign headquarters opened up a spot on the ticket this year. She has laid low, waiting for her moment to strike. Until now. Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you the wonderfully, fabulous Lilah Morgan.
*crowd cheers and gives Lilah a standing ovation*
Lilah Morgan: Thank you, thank you. Thanks K for those kind words. I'll make it easy for you media types. I am announcing my intentions to become President of the United States. I will be running as a Democrat. I feel like my platform will help this country become much better and fabulous. For the last seven years, our country has lost its fabulousness. We have lost our way. We need to get out of it. All of the other candidates say this will bring change, but they have been part of the Washington Machine that has put this country in a general malaise that needs to be cured. I'm an outsider. They're insiders, which may give them some benefits, but they can't see the big picture. All the candidates will tell you what you want to hear. They won't be honest with you. I .Cecause I care about you. It probably won't be what you want to hear, but I see this nation needs honesty more then ever. When you elect me President, I will open up government to the people. I will also bring change that helps the people. I am Lilah Morgan and I am going to be your next president. Thank you and God Bless America.
KCP: Goodnight. Ms. Morgan has to go to a meeting, but she will available for questions next week.
Smith: There you have it. A bombshell as Lilah Morgan has announced her candidacy for President. This may throw the Democratic field into chaos. Ann Coulter. Response.
Ann Coulter: Oh, f...
Smith: Sorry for that. Ann's tourette's must be actiing up. She starts cursing when she is afraid. And on that note, we will end this special report and return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress.
Narrator: We will now join to some teenage drama which will be cancelled next week instead of the premiere sixth season of Firefly because out executives can't get theirheads out of their collectibe behinds.
Seven oh-not-so random movie reviews
Alo!
It is the third week of August, and I have already seen seven movies in the theater this year. I think that is fair enough time to come up with a list of ranking these seven movies. I will rank them in reverse order. Starting from worst to best. All the rankings will be out of 10. I will also divide them into seperate categories. Now without further delay here is the list.
Also the reviews may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movies on the list stop now.
Disappointing
7. Spider-Man 3: This movie was a disappointment coming out of the second movie in the series. I felt the movie was trying to do too much with two or three super-villians, depending on who you ask. I also felt that the chemistry between Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco, which made the first two movies, was completely missing. Thomas Haden Church was underutilized. The tension wasn't there anymore. Something was just missing. There were pretty cool fight scenes, but overall the direction was lacking. This movie had a lot of potential, but it did reach that potential. I regretted paying the $7.50 for the movie. I could have waited until the movie came out on DVD to see it. I give it 6.7 out of 10, which is about a D+.
Started out fast, but faded towards the end.
6. The Simpsons Movie: This was a tale of two movies. The first half was very good, but the second just fell apart. The first 45 minutes was hilarious. The jokes were well times and was a throwback to the early days of the Simpson series. Unfortunately, in the second half the movie faded. The movie basically followed the same plot line of a normal episode of the series, so I felt like I had seen it before. It also got too sappy at the end, and since it followed the same plot of a normal Simpsons episode, I felt gipped. However, it had a better story than Spider-Man 3, it just gets a better grade. I think this movie deserves a 7/10 or a C-.
Good but could have been better.
4-tie. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End: I liked this movie, but I felt like it may have been about 15 minutes too long. There were parts that just drug on, which was just a matter of pacing. I loved the cameo by Keith Richards, his part was hilarious. The one thing I really didn't like about the movie was the fact that none of the main three characters were trustworthy. You knew that they would do the right thing at the end, but it felt like for most of the movie they were looking out for their own interests. For most of the movie, I didn't like any of the characters. The only character that was remotely trustworthy was the monkey. The fight scenes were good, and the computer graphics were well done. It was a fun ride. And as a result it deserves an 8 out of 10 or B-.
Good movie but won't be remebered.
4-tie. 300: Despite some of the histrorical inaccuracies potraryed in the film, I still liked this movie. The plot was simplistic and that wasn't the strong part of the film. This movie was well paced, I wasn't looking at my cell-phone clock at all. What made the movie good was the visuals and the fight scenes, which were extremely well done. The coreography in 300 was brilliant, mixed with the cartoon-like deaths made this movie much more enjoyable. I have to say the cast must be in good shape to go through basically several back-to-back fight scenes and make it look real. The backing visuals were well placed added to movie, and it did not take away from the movie. I'd say it was an 8 out of 10 or a B-.
Exceeded my expectations.
3. TransformersI came into the movie with low expectations because the fact Michael Bay was directing the movie. I came out of the movie pleasantly surprised. The movie was well paced. The action kept on coming, but there were lulls in the action that allowed for some substance. The Autobots and Deceptacons were pretty, and the visuals were done well. The jokes were well-timed. All the people in the movie were capable, even the government officials, which is better than what happens in most movies that portrays people in the government and milatary as incompetent. The story itself was captivating and the actions by the characters were consistent throughout the movie. I really liked this movie. Maybe my low expectations actually gave this movie a bump. It deserves a 9.0 out of 10 or A-.
A cut above the rest
1-tie Hot Fuzz: I loved this movie. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg could have gone the Scary Movie route and had continious gags running throughout, but they went with a funny story. The plot was believable The movie started out slow, but it started picking upsteam midway through the movie. I loved the in-jokes about other movies sprinkled throughout. The changes throughout the movie in the characters were organic and extremely believable. I also loved the obsession with Point Break, which I have an obsession with. How the bad guys get their just desserts was extremely appropiate for the movie. I also loved the fact the line got cheesier and cheesier towards the end of the movie. The supporting cast was brilliant. I rate this as a 9.5 out of 10 or A.
1- Tie Superbad: Superbad is super good. This movie was just fricking hilarious. There were no parts that drug out. I'm already quoting this, movie which is neat. Most of it can't be said here because its vulgar. If you don't like a lost of cussing or teenage drinking this movie isn't for you. I really loved this movie. I identified with the two lead characters in the movie, especially Evan. This movie got the ackwardness of a geek in high school. The story had heart and the writers didn't go completely with gags. The jokes were were organically done and worked well. Even the cliched characters were hilarious. Everything in this movie just worked. Seth Rogen is a comic genius as well as Evan Goldberg. They must have tapped into their experiences from high school because the two main characters share the same name. I was laughing throughout the movie, and the only movies that did to me is both Ghostbusters movies, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Exclusive company. It is in the top five of my favorite movies. 9.5 out of 10 or A.
