Opinion rejected not accepted

I've been on gamespot forums for a long time and I plan to continue to be on these forums for a long time but never have I seen such ignorance and hatred towards the fellow users for stating what they believe, what they think and even for disagreeing and agreeing. Over the years I've seen many great users banned for unjust reasons because of opinion, hell i've had a permanent suspension myself for something I didn't even do which I eventually got reinstated for after many emails. However this post isn't about the Mods being to harsh, I respect them and we all make mistakes but I see so many ignorant users attacking people for stating a simple opinion. Why can't opinion be accepted instead of rejected? If one person doesn't like something that you like how does it give you the right to be rude? How does it give you the right to tell them they are wrong? How are they wrong if they don't like something like a console, game, band, movie that you liked? Not everybody is the same so why should users be offensive to other users for being different? Isn't it difference which makes every individual unique?

I am so tired of coming to these forums to click on a post where somebody is asking a simple question or stating a opinion and being attacked for it. What has happened to the sense of respect? Is it because we are all hiding behind monitors that we feel like we can say anything without consequence? Respect opinion dont hate it, be nice to the fellow user and it will be returned in double and when a user asks a question don't flame on him for it point him to the right direction if you can't answer it. We are all a community and we all interact daily, who wants a community of trashy users not accepting opinions and flaming?

Beyond the GIGAS

What exactly does that mean? Well, nothing much really, except for the fact that I got a new 1 Terabyte external HD drive. Not justone, but two . I must say that it's awesome. My dad happened to pass through Dubai on his way back to India and he got it for me at my request. It's a Western Digital HD drive with shock proof casing and a nice glossy black finish.

It has lots of "nice" little features. The suite software that comes preloaded into the HD gets installed automatically. It appears as a virtual drive each time the HD is connected to the PC. The interface is sweet and has plenty of one touch options including a complete segmented backup of all the files in my computer (it basically segregates my music, image files, movies and videos and documents all by itself before backing them up). Also, there's a nice security code option which can be accessed only through the smartware. The only downside is that out of 1024 GB, I only get 940 >_>. That's a straight near 90 GB drop in capacity but I guess it can't be helped ;_;.

Now why exactly do I need two of these babies? It's simply cause of the fact that my downloaded files (music, anime, movies, cartoons, games and my documents) occupy over 2.5 Terabytes and the measly 500 GB on my PC's HD and the 500 GB external that I have are just not enough. So yeah, this eases all the trouble of having to backup my stuff in DVD's. Now I just have two little black boxes and one of them is already filled with 921GB of anime.

The other will besoon. The other good thing is thatboth HDs togethercost just180$. No holes in my dad's pocket that I need to worry about .So that's a pretty good deal. From now on, I shall never be bothered bythe tedium of having to backup my data onto puny little discs.I say, good riddens!! And oh yeah, in case you're wondering what it looks like, here's a sneak peek. . Don't mind the quality. It was taken on a mobile camera.

The 1TB monster.......

A toast to the coming of new technology . Cheers .

Convergence and giving in to the lack of a touch screen

After four years of service, my beloved 40 gigabyte Zen Touch portable music player is not giving me anything close to the 26 hours of battery life per charge that it used to.

When you are used to going three weeks or so between charges, it is irritating to suddenly have to re-charge every day or three. Especially when you are someone who obsesses over battery life.

In 2005, the Zen Touch offered, by far, the longest battery life for a high capacity portable music player. It was my only option. Today, multiple portable media players last 30 hours or longer (for music) before needing to be re-charged. The battery life-obsessed can now look at features besides battery life when choosing a portable media player.

So what do I replace my Zen Touch with.

A PSP go, the new, download-only version of the PlayStation Portable, which lasts about 10 hours per charge for playing music. With the screen off.

(I chose the black model.)

This was an impulse buy. For some time I was considering replacing my Zen Touch with a Zune HD (which Microsoft claims lasts 33 hours per battery charge) when a 64 gigabyte version of the Zune HD was released or my Zen's battery died completely, whichever came first.

But when I learned that I could buy a PSP go at a discount, that was more temptation than I could handle.

The concept of having all my portable games and all my music available to me at all times in a device that easily fits in a pants pocket is one that greatly appeals to me. I can live with changing discs or cartridges or cards or whatever on a device that stays in one place because the system and its media tend to be near one another. If I want that kind of choice with a portable device, I need to carry everything with me, and I can only hold so much in my pockets at one time.

Say I'm on a bus playing Burnout Legends. Say I'm getting bored of Burnout Legends but I still want to play a game. A few button presses and I'm playing LocoRoco 2. When I'm finished with LocoRoco 2, I can press a few buttons and play Tetris. And when I tire of playing games, I can press a few buttons to listen to The Chair in the Doorway album by Living Colour and then place my PSP go in my pants pocket. All without changing physical media; it's all in the PSP go's internal storage.

This sort of scenario is what makes the PSP go an amazing device, and it is not currently possible with any other hardware.

Not legally or with good games anyway.

Still, it would have been nice if the PSP go had a touchscreen. A few months ago, I went as far as saying that I would not buy a PSP go because it had no touchscreen. A touchscreen and stylus are what make the Nintendo DS versatile, allowing it to run games and non-games that do all sorts of things that are impossible or difficult by pressing buttons. (Ever try playing Meteos by pressing buttons? Don't.) But even without a touchscreen, there are plenty excellent games to be played on a PSP go, and they are all available at all times.

Not that there is no buyer's remorse with my PSP go impulse buy. The PSP go is weak as a music player. It can play music well, but it is missing basic features that devices that are primarily music players have. There is no play queue, so unless you want to listen in artist/album/track order (or by mood with the optional, free SenseMe channels software), you must first create a playlist on a computer and then transfer it to your PSP go or select a new track as soon as the track that was playing ends. Windows Media Audio files cannot be played until after WMA playback is enabled, which requires an Internet connection. Copy-protected audio files will not play. And as already mentioned, battery life is weak compared to devices designed primarily for music.

So if anyone wants to buy me a Walkman X, please do.

I don't like Don Mattrick (new ms guy)

So now E3 is over and now Microsoft's new guy seams to be bloating.

I just recently read an article on kotaku where he basically says that MS were the only ones that showed up. In this article he talks about how Sony and Nintendo disappointed. Now I would totally agree with this, but I think all three tanked this year including Microsoft. I also don't like how he is saying that 360 is going to outsell ps3, during the conference, but they cant even get a solid market share in Japan. He also completely forgot to mention that ps3 has been outselling 360, and Ps3 has a more solid lineup for the next year or so. He seams to be really cocky towards Sony, and right now he just seams to be asking for it.

None of it matters anyways since Nintendo is destroying them all in sales.

In my opinion Sony won this year not by much, but microsoft comes out in second with Nintendo trailing far behind.

I did not like Nintendo, because of lack of any games that I want. I did not see a thing this year that I would spend my money on, maybe Animal crossing at 20 bucks.

Microsoft didn't actually show me anything new, besides the dashboard update. The announcement of FF13 does not affect me at all. I will still buy it on PS3, since it is one of the titles I bought my PS3 for. Other than that they didn't show me anything new that I can remember, it was mostly multi-plats and demos of games that were already anounced. Gears 2 looks like Gears 1 which isn't bad, but I don't know if I will invest 60 dollars in a new Gears. The only big game I want to get at launch that was shown is Fable 2.

Sony wasn't too much better, but they did show new games that I remember. MAG is a great concept, and hopefully they can pull it off. Really sad about not hearing anything from Naughty Dog, but I want to get the new PSN Ratchet as soon as I can, so my second favorite Sony studio is doing good. I want to get LittleBigPlanet, and Fat princess looks fun. The big games that I want to get at launch include, inFAMOUS and God of War 3.

Assassin's Creed

Ok, here's the deal. I just bought Assassin's Creed few days ago. I decided to install it on my laptop first. It works, I am able to play the game. But extrememly laggy.

So I then installed it to my desktop, all meets the minimum requirements and or above. After the intro where Altair disappeared into the crowd. The program stops running. I have no idea why. I do have the 1.02 patch installed.

Somehow on my laptop, it is able to get pass the intro and let me start the game. But on my desktop, it doesn't.

Does anyone got answer towards this issue? Does anyone have the same problem??

Home(ps3) Rumored for 2.24.08

Home, the highly antisipated virtual game for the Playstation 3, has been rumored to be released this month on the 24th. Did sony finally set a date so that we...the ps3 owners, can finally have fun with our own space. Getting to create your own rooms, going around town, watching real cinamatics(movies). What more could you ask for??? Creating your own person with dowloadable items. I hope sony is true about this release date, or is it just a rumor??? Either way, we're hoping that we can sit back, relax, and go Home!!!

*Theres alot more that I havent said about it but search home, and expirience it yourself

It's been almost a year since my last blog post, in fact tomorrow is the full one, but I'm here now to tell you why it has been so long. I am a senior in hs. I have school every day. What changed is that I now own a 360 and Mass Effect, and have played 10 hours of the game already, and I just bought i =t yesterday.

I'm back baby.

The first of the big three has arrived

One day after Metroid Prime 3: Corruption had released, I bought one, and I am pretty impressed by what I have seen so far, so I review the game once I am done.

Today is Metroid Monday. Let's take a look at some reviews of MP3.

Today Metroid Prime 3 is being shipped to stores. Tomorrow the public will be able to get their hands on it. I've pre-ordered, have you?

Metroid Prime 3 ,as far as I can tell, has gotten 2 reviews so far. One from IGN and one from GameTrailers. Both have been high with IGN giving the game a 9.5 and GameTrailers giving it a 9.6.

Both have given the game high praise by both and they both pretty much flat out said that this is the best FPS game ever (that's right Halo, eat your heart out) and that this is the best Wii game to date and a must own. This get's me extremely excited about it and I can't wait to play. I'm getting up early tomorrow to get to GameStop at opening time to get my copy as fast as I can.

Here is the IGN review.

Here is GameTrailers review.

GameTrailers also did a Metroid Retrospective in honor of the final chapter in the Prime trilogy. They released the 5th and final part today and told us the entire story of Metroid, what games fit where, and how they are all connected. You can find that here.

If your not hyped for Prime 3 after watching those reviews and retrospective then your just not human.

Now I'm going to go finish Super Metroid. I just got the Grapple Beam and Gravity Suit and I'm heading down to Maridia. I'll finish it today and get cracking on the original Metroid.
