Mild dissapointment.

I've just passed Dragon Age Origins. This was a great game, one well worth getting & i will be playing through again as a different character type. that being said i found the ending to be far too short & ultimatly unsatisfying. considering a lot depends on choices made throughout playing i understand why but i would have liked just a little more. A feeling of achievement, other than just the actual 50G's that is.

the sin that is Lust

or is it greed? either way i neeeed FFXIII.

If i was in Japan i would be playing it right now. compared to FF8,9 and 12 i was not as on edge for this one, mainly because 11 was online ( im not an mmrpg fan ) and 12 while good was not as imersive as 7 through 10. Since it's been released though i feel it calling me from over the water half way around the world. I hear it's siren call and i must have it. my own...my precious 0.0;

So much post Apocalyptia

SO Bethesda just picked up the rights to RAGE. Yet another post Apocolyptic wasteland game. now don't get me wrong i love a lot of those games,especially Bethesda's contribution, however it's a lot like the Zombie fad that re-emerged last year big time or when half the western world dressed up as a pirate for halloween after the 1st PotC film came out. Bandwagon much? i'm just sayin'

the hidden trouble of DLC

So, my 360's GPU is fried conveniently just after the warranty has expired. My old PS2 is still going strong even though I used to play that for longer periods of time.

That is annoyance number one. When I tested each component ( cables, disc, hard drive etc ) on another machine they all worked fine, so I knew it was an internal problem, yet when I sought assistance from Xbox's support & gave them that list of symptoms & what I'd tested there reply was an a-b-c of the steps I'd previously mentioned for me to employ.

… Thanks, real helpful.

That was annoyance number two. Number 3 brings me to the title of this rant.

I'm currently using a friend's consol while I await mine to get fixed. Why is that an annoyance? Because I can no longer play Oblivion, Fallout3, Fable2, or any other game I own that uses DLC. You see Microsoft in there infinite wisdom have decided that to avoid people sharing DLC they would make a coded link to the purchasers consol. Not the Gamer Tag which can be easily brought with you. Not to the Hard drive which would store the DLC etc. to the Consol itself. So until mine is fixed or I register the DLC to another consol (there's a step by step for that on Xbox.com) my DLC's are all worthless. Not only that but so is any game file I had which the DLC was being used in.

It makes no sense to link it to the consol & not to the Tag or HDD, especially on a console with so many known manufacturing faults. So thanks again Micro$oft, way to make a consumer ****** off.

just something i've noticed.

the games i've been playing lately have been mostly action-adventure games. Wolverine, Prototype, Assassins creed etc. All great games & some of the best of there kind. Even the RPG's ( my staple since i was 13 ) have veered more towards quick action and platform elements as opposed to the traditional turn based style. I guess there's just a dip in the quallity of that game type since the current gen of consoles arrived. Even games from the masters of the genre, Squareenix, have felt rather less gripping in comparison to the likes of Bioshock and less epic compared to Oblivion & Fallout.

I have high hopes for FFXII. I can't wait to hear about mistwalkers next title. All im saying is the Turn based RPG has got to Up its game in terms of orriginality of story & fun factor of gameplay.
