Letterman Deal. Can it inspire to end the Writer's Strike?
Shortly before the New Year started, David Letterman and hisproduction companywere able to stike a deal with the WGA to bring back his show, as well as Craig Ferguson's, with their writers. His return happens tonight. Other late night hosts, like Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, are retuning tonight as well, but without their writers in order to employ their non-writing staff.
Can the deal made by Letterman and the WGA help to inspire the AMPTP and the WGA to strike a deal and bring an end to the nearly two-month strike?
We'll have to see to find out.
Excited About the Following
Haven't blogged in a while so here are the things I'm most excited about for the new TV season.
I'm really excited for Kristen Bell. After the upsetting cancellation of Veronica Mars, I was glad to hear that Bell would be the voice of Gossip Girl on the new CW series, Gossip Girl and in addition would portray an upcoming hero on one of my favorite shows, NBC's Heroes. Looking forward to that.
I'm excited for the following new series that I already love and ones I hope I'll love. Gossip Girl is a show that I'm starting to enjoy and I see that it has a lot of potential to become a great series and Pushing Daisies looks like it will be a fun show to watch that has captured me as something different and with totally unique pespective.
Here's to great viewing!![]()
'Mars' and 'Gilmore' CANCELLED, but with a POSSIBLE MOVIE DEAL?
Most recently two of my most favorite shows from The CW, Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls were cancelled. It was upsetting to me as I've loved these shows. Girls since 2005 and Mars since the night of its premiere in 2004. It was sad to see these shows go but fans and I may get a chance to see them one final time.
Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars are possibly going to becomea movie. If the movie deal does come, it may tie up loose ends and give us a second chance to see them one last time.
Here's hoping it'll happen!

Gilmore Girls CANCELLED!
After seven years of coffee, witty banter, mother-daughter talks, and many pop-culture references, Gilmore Girls is ending. The hit comedy/drama about Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, going through their lives with witty banter, coffee addictions, and different romantic and friendship relationships ends Tuesday, May 15th at 8PM/7PM-central on The CW. Unable to extend the contracts of actresses Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, who play the lovable and wonderful mother-daughter duo, the show has decided to end its run.
I am sad about this news as I would have liked to have seen an eighth season, but as the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end". I'm hoping the final episode will be good and able to wrap up this amazingly wonderful series I've been a fan of the past two years. I've seen every episode and I'll never forget the funniness, the touching moments, the memorable characters, and of course the wonderful relationship between Lorelai and Rory. As I look back I like to remember it all, Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Emily, Richard, and the rest. How can we ever forget them? (the final two lines are similar to Charles M. Schulz's final line from the last strip of his comic, Peanuts)
