My New Gaming Rig. (Thanks GS)
Well if you didn't know, recently I won a BRAND NEW GAMING RIG from Gamespot. And let me say ladies and gentlemen. It is one hell of a PC.
Here is all i got:
-Core i7 870 @2.93ghz
-ATI Radeon HD 4890
-Asetek Liquid Cooling
-800 Watt NZXT PSU
-Windows Vista Home Premium x64
-Blue Neon Lights
-4 GB Corsair DDR3 Dominator RAM
-LG Blu Ray Reader/CD/DVD Multi Recorder
-80 GB Primary HDD, 1TB Secondary HDD
-12 in 1 Card Reader (I don't even know what that is yet)
-24 inch ASUS LCD Monitor
-iBuyPower Keyboard
It looks a little something like:

Sorry. I don't have the actual pics of my rig since i don't have a camera. But that is what my rig looks like.
The PC Trivia competition first started on the Oct 8th episode of TOTS. The trivia was to be given in three parts:
1. Post a blog entry saying why you want the PC (My Original Blog)
2. "Guess" the price of the whole thing
3. Give all the prizes that were ever given on TOTS
Needless to say, the first two parts were fairly simple. I posted my blog as i said earlier. As for the price "guess", i'm such a nerd that i looked at the Official Rules of the competition before they announced that 2nd competition.
The third part wasn't to say, difficult, it was just timely and tedious. I had to go back and watch all the TOTS episodes ever. (This was oct 29 i believe) And copy down the prizes. Most TOTS prize trivias were at the end of the episode.
But some were in the middle and that sucked going back and finding when they gave it. However, i never gave up. I really wanted that PC. I sent that last email for part 3 and crossed my fingers.
On the TOTS Oct 31st episode I was announced the winner by good ol' Brian Eckberg. (Did i spell that right) I really suggest you watch the clip when I got announced. I found it pretty funny. See it here. 18:10
I received my prize on Nov 9th I believe. And unfortunately it came in bad condition. It did not come with a mouse, power cable for the tower, both hard drives were unplugged, the disc drive was unplugged. Windows Vista was not installed. And the video card was defective. (Found that out today)
To make a long story short, I got windows vista reinstalled, but the OS was not recongizing the video card. So today I iBuyPower told me that they were going to replace it . I also got them to send me out a free upgrade code for Windows 7.
In the end, the computer being defective actually worked out in my favor for reasons I'm not going to say.
Total Cost to me: The shipping of the video card to ibuypower. ($8.70)
I would like to thank the whole TOTS staff with a special shout out to Charles. Also, I would like to thank ibuypower. Even though it was really their fault the PC was detective in my opinion. And i'd like to thank Gamespot as a whole. They are always giving out good stuff and their not that difficult to win.
Left 4 Dead Game Night- Oct 19. [IMPORTANT UPDATE]
Left 4 Dead (X360)Oct 19 at 3PM PT
*Crash Course DLC Not Required*
*IMPORTANT UPDATE*
- Seems like the chatroom is not open. Jody had said that she was going to open it but i guess she has not done it yet. So, if you want to play in the game night be online in Left 4 Dead 30 minutes before the start time and add this gamertag, NJ BOI9222. I'll invite you to an Xbox Live Party. If you're late add me and i'll see what i can do. But i can't guarentee since versus is only 8 players.
1. How do I get in on the action?
Post your XBL gamertag here in the thread. Do not send me a friend request. I'll send you one.
Join the CHATROOM so we can all get situated. Join around 2:30 PT
I'll be hosting my gamertag is NJ BOI9222.
2. I am from another country and timezone other than California time (Pacific Time). What time is that for me?
http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc. If you want to be extra tech savvy and you use Firefox, download the foxclocks application to monitor your timezone versus other timezones.
3. What mode will we be playing?I want to play versus mode. But it's up to you guys. Post what mode(s) you want to play
4. Can I drop by late to participate in game night?
Of course! Why not?
5. Who are the game hosts?
Depends on how many people are going to join. Left 4 Dead supports 8 players on versus so if we get more than 8 people we can have a second host.
Hit me up with any questions here in the thread. I'm really open up to anything with this game night. Even if you guys want to change the days. I chose monday but I'm able to play tomorrow-tuesday.
Why I want the Gaming PC
First off let me start off by saying, who wouldn't want that PC! Even if you weren't an avid PC gamer! However, I am a PC gamer and I would love to have that PC. One of the reasons why is because I am 17 years old and I'm unemployed. I cannot afford to buy a PC like that. A lot of people cannot buy a PC like that and that's why many people don't game on their PCs. My current PC can barley run any games. Also, I'm a Senior in high school, next year I'm going to college. And I'll be living on campus. Sure there will plently of beautiful women not too far away from me. But hey, in my down time, i'll need something to do. And how much better can life get when you're playing Crysis on high settings with nice headphones, in the comfort of you're college dorm. And finally, my third reason is because I think I really deserve it! I am a hardcore GS user and I have been one for about 2 and a half years now. I've loved GS ever since I first registered. I love the community, the staff, and the content that GS puts out for its users. And I really do appreciate it. I appreciate GS just giving people the opportunity to win wonderful prizes like this. No strings attached just follow instructions. That's why I NEED this PC. (and that moniter too)
Gamespot Community Game Night #86: MGS 4 - Sept 8

1. How do I get in on the action?
It is important to join the chat room so staff and GameSpotters can communicate with all of you. If you cannot remain in chat, exit and return once you want to play another match. We'll open the chatroom between 3 and 3:30pm PT on the day of game night.
3. What mode will we be playing?
We'll ask Kevin what he plans to play!
4. Why this game?
You all voted for it!
5. Can I drop by late to participate in game night?
Of course! Why not?
6. What GameSpot folks will I be playing with?
Trying to recruit a GameSpot editor, so you're stuck with me.
7. You mentioned something about "bounties" in the Game Night FAQ. What is up with that?
Every week, a player that meets the bounty requirement will get to take part in a grudge match later in the year against other bounty hunters. That match will take place on a game that pretty much anyone can play, such as a free bowling game, or some other such frivolity. The winner of the Grudge Match will receive a special emblem in his or her profile. Other emblems may also be awarded to players based on performance, wins, or other criteria.
8. What's this week's bounty requirement?
The non-scientific method: the player GameSpot staff feels kicked their butts the most. We normally choose one MVP per game or platform.
9. I am totally the best, and you know it. What if you give the emblem to some other dude, even if I know I am better?
It's the staff call on who becomes the MVP for the week.
10. So, do I have a good chance of kicking GameSpot butt?
Of course you do! There has got to be a game that we stink at.
12. Do I get an emblem for playing?
The only emblem goes to the bounty winner(s), which are listed on the game night feature page as MVP. It's next to impossible for staff to keep up with who enters the game or server and who doesn't. Besides, isn't gloating over GameSpot Staff a great reward?
13. Where should I report my game night experience?
You can post it here
