Heroes - Yu Yu hakusho connection

Well it may seem odd but there are a couple of things that make me think that Tim Kring may have in some way been influenced by Yu Yu Hakusho. The first being that Niki's disorder plays out a lot like Sensui's (the fracturing of thier psychosis and whatnot) I know that could just be a coincedence so for now we will just have to wait and see what happens. As for the second of the reasons: Bob had asked his daughter Elle if she had been praticing her sharp-shooting skills when she responded with a familiar looking "spirit gun" poised finger that shot out electricity, which of course looks a lot like ki. Niether of these points are too terribly convincing but I really just wanted to get this out there and see what you all think.

Well, its not Yu Yu Hakusho was the 1st series to use those things which you mentioned either. Having multiple split personalities is supposedly based off of a real condition, and having split personalities with one being stronger than the other, as well as shooting Ki out of your finger, were both featured in Dragon Ball, before YYH. Launch had split personalities, in DB, with one being puny and whimpy, whereas the other was tough and agressive. And there was one beast from DB, who I remember shooting a Ki blast out of his index finger. If memmory serves, and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was called the "Dodon Ray," or something like that .

Woah, sorry for the late post!

I also agree that these could just be simple coincidences. As ensatsu-ken said, DB has had similar things going on before YYH. Also, I remember stumbling into Hiro's online blog (something NBC has for the series) and he mentioned a couple of anime that inspired him, bringing up DBZ but not YYH.

And for the record, ensatsu-ken, the characters showed to have the Dodon Ray (or "Dodon-pa" depending on sub or dub) are Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Assassin Tao, and maybe his brother, the Crane Hermit. Yeah, I know a little too much .

I am a huge anime and animation fan and have even "role played" as some of my favorite characters. It all started with DBZ and I soon found all the wonderful complexities, mysteries and comedy in other anime and grew to love many of them. I also enjoy sci-fi television programs (Stargate SG-1, The X-Files, Roswell, etc...)and other such paranormal programing. The X Files is by far my favorite show. It was a show that excelled in every aspect of what a television program should be. There were large amounts of mystery, humour, and romance all expertly wrapped into one amazing television series. In my opinion it is the best program to have ever been shown on television! I also enjoy many former programs on G4, especially Attack of the Show. I am a huge self-proclaimed "geek" so G4 was at one time the dream channel, as AOTS would say, "for every thing I care about". I truely love any tv show that can get me to think and allows me to care and invest myself into its characters, to delve into an interesting plot long enough to get me away from what is often a mundane day. Any show that can understand its viewers as people and show them what they want and keep them wanting more is always something to look forward to. As for systems I currently own an X Box 360 and a PS3. I love Final Fantasy games and most other Role Playing Games. I like the challenge the games provide and that I can grow stronger throughout the game to eventually become the best. Games are a great way to delve into another universe, and with well made RPG's it can often just as diverse as our own.
