If we evolved from apes...

(or if humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor)

then . . . ?

Though there are physical similarities, what's with this huge difference?

An evolutionist would probably say, "we just adapted differently."

That's too hard for me to believe.

This is one of the reasons why I don't believe in evolution.

Please don't tell me to study Human Evolution because my point is that a wide gap exists.

This blog is specifically about the human difference. Do not bring in other stuff about evolution.

I take it from this show of Creationism is teh win your American? Probably sothern states of America?

I'm sure people who think creation is a far better explanation are from everywhere on earth. My location is irrelevant.

There is most likely a missing form for the state of ape to human.

And honestly creationism just sounds silly, a big sky bully decided to put us here so we can stroke his ego and worship him all the time, and if we don't we face damnation and must suffer and be tortured for an eternity doesn't sit well with me.

Humans evolved differently than Apes, because of our different environment we developed larger brains. It's that simple. Just study human evolution.

There is no gap. We didn't just jump suddenly from ape to human. We evolved gradually over time.

Piss-poor appeal to emotion.

Here's a little lesson - taxonomy.

There are seven levels of taxonomic classification:

Kingdom

Phylum

Class

Order

Family

Genus

Species

Humans and other primates stop at Order (the primate order). As such, humans are in a completely different family and genus than other primates.

Think that might account for a number of differences?

The bottom line is, do you honestly believe all these happened through a series of adaptations, natural selection and/or mutations and not purposeful creation? If so, well, I'm not going to argue with you. I just find it obvious that Creation rings way more true than Evolution.

It might seem obvious to you but that doesn't mean it's true. Ooh, that rhymes.
Posted 01/19/2009 11:18am
What is there a 2% difference in DNA, you don't think that 2% could evolve over 2-3 million years?
Posted 01/21/2009 8:09pm
Meh. The gap there is about as meaningless as the gap in neck length between the giraffe and the horse.

Here's a link to a painting by a gorilla.

It was done by memory, and was of his pet dog. Here's a photograph of said dog.

Where's your precious gap now?

Creationism = True.
Evolution = . . . . not.
'nuff said.

Not convincing. Beware of.... oversimplification.

Cool.

I for one support you.

Yes, I do honestly believe that all of this "happened through a series of adaptations, natural selection and/or mutations and not purposeful creation." I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, there was absolutely no evidence for creationism, whereas there is some for Evolution. So, I would say I find it obvious that Evolution "rings way more true" than creationism.

By the way, your pictures are worthless, as evolution would cause those changes... nice try, though.

You should study Human Evolution.
Posted 02/09/2009 5:01pm
Humans have bigger brains and can thus do far more complex tasks and create far more complex things. A mutation in Homo erectus that shrunk the jaw muscle allowed the skull to expand over hundreds of generations and give rise to the massive human brain we know today.

Had that mutation not occurred and natural selection not "chosen" it, we would probably still be a bunch of Chimp-like apes, digging in termite mounds for our food.

That's nothing but a story and it's utterly nonsensical.
Posted 02/11/2009 1:35am
I mean no offense Revinh, but jeeeez man, things are not as simple as your post portrays. I have a feeling after reading many of your previous posts in various other threads that you have a very inaccurate and skewed view of what evolution is and how it works, and now much more so after viewing your blog post above.

Things don't change overnight. Evolution is a process that happens over millions upon millions of years, take that into consideration. Of course the uneducated or ill-informed would think evolution is a ludicrous and absurd process if they viewed it how it's portrayed above. As I said, I mean no offense, but with an example such as that above.....it just reeks of ignorance.

I couldn't have said it better Rekunta. Posting a bunch of pictures of humans doing cool stuff then an ape looking dumb. Doesn't prove anything, in fact it made this blog look silly.
