Co-editors

I was lucky enough to edit two very popular shows on TVTome, Cold Case and Veronica Mars. When I first got them, I got daily emails from people wanting to co-editor. I didn't pick the first person to ask, I chose the people I wanted to work with...

This co-editor thing kills me. I have (had) two extremely good people as co-editors, Flamemoth and Frostelized. People I choose because they really wanted to contribute and work hard, people who put just as much time, energy and care into the guides as I did. We were not head-editors and co-editors, we worked together as editors. I built good relationships with these people and I not only like them, I respect them. Now, I'm expected to fight them for the guides? To basically stab them in the back and steal the guides from them?

It's not right.

I really do like the new site a lot. I just wish that there was more respect given to the people who built these guides. We know the shows we edited, we spent time researching all of the little details...

I hope the people who steal our guides put half the time and thought into them that we did.

I agree...this isn't completley fair. I mean, for The Biggest Loser guide, I put in just as much time as my former co-editor, TVTome_Shadow, or whatever {Shadow}'s calling himself now, haha. Now we're serperated by only 20-30 points. It sux,

Just popped in...

I absolutely agree with your thoughts. One other thing--can't the editor purposely reject someone's submissions to make sure that they don't "take over" the guide? The whole thing just seems ridiculous to me.

Well, the best you can do is keep the guide up todate with still their help and of course get to level 5 so that the staff doesn't moderate in your stead

Yeh i agree it is unfair but there is nothing that you can do.

I too noticed that the relationship seemed to be different. I am no longer officially editor on anything. I am retired from one show. My contributions have slowed, although I'm thinking of taking another crack at it. Until I read Robynette's comments, I thought it was just me. Such is life.
