A year on GS

I just realized that it's already been a year since I've joined Gamespot. But I haven't been an active member, now have I?

Once again, it has been ages.

Just felt like updating. I am currently pissed at FF3 (DS).

You can read my review for it, if your curious as to what my reaction was.

Guh, I can't get a new game until I finish FF3.

That's all I have to say.

Romancing Saga

Ok, I bashed this game before because I was so bad at it. I gave it a second chance this week, and I am proud t say that I love it now. I mean, look at all those lovely quests so many rewards and the multiple playthroughs are gold. **drool**

Besides, not all "new game pluses" of this game are played exactly the same. XD I've got nothing but praise for this game at the moment.

And so sorry for the disappearance, I was out with school hahaha well I'm back and headed to college!! **dances around**

It's Been a While Hasn't It?

Yes it has. **nods** Apparently I've gotten a new badge here at gamespot, the love thy neighbor badge thing.

"Perhaps these individuals, in actuality, live in college dorm rooms, parents' basements, dingy apartments, or other such facilities devoid of actual, physical neighbors. Like, you know, the ones who come over to ask to "borrow" a cup of sugar or to use your lawnmower? Those worthless freeloaders, I swear... Oh, never mind."

Heh, clever eh? I don't really mind, I just use this site as a place to check out games before actually purchasing them, people just add me and I add them in return.

So anyways, gamewise, I think I managed to finish GrimGrimoire, a surprisingly good game. VanillaWare is becoming my fave game designing company. I really did love the plot of GrimGrimoire, it makes for an excellent break from reality; it's not a Harry Potter ripoff... honestly, not everything with witches and wizards in a magic school is a Harry Potter ripoff :c

So... currently I'm playing Xenosaga I. The cutscenes are too long and they drag, the story isn't interesting, the gameplay is... well... good enough. COSMOS is the only character worth playing for When I'm done with this... I've got nothing else to play D:

Kya has a very disappointing ending

I played and finished Kya for less than 30 hours, and I knew that the story wasn't that great as well. I played it because of the level design, the puzzles and all that. But it really wouldn't hurt if Atari placed a pretty good ending to conclude things and not to piss the player off. Bad story. Blech. I captured all 260 wolfens and all I get is a crappy ending?! This game was a complete waste of time for meeeeeeeee

I knew I should've finished it with 259 wolfens and just watch the so-called-real-bad-ending. It might've been better.

Kya: Dark Lineage

I've mention in past blogs that I'm playing Kya at the moment. That game's old for me, I think I've had it a year ago. I didn't even know why I bothered to buy it, when I did pop it into the console, I thought it was pretty neat. The fighting was crap though, there was a lot of combos that Kya could do but the system's weak. It lags a lot and the Wolfens charge at you so fast that the combos are impossible to do. I'm stuck using the Triangle-triangle-triangle combo, and the R2-square-triangle ones.

This'll be the third time that I'll be playing the game, the first two were duds. I think I only got as far as 52% and I deleted the file. I can't really remember the reason why I didn't bother finishing the game. Was it the crap voice-acting? Or was it just too hard for me back then? Hahaha honestly, the voice-acting was crap. The story was weird for me too, the characters lacked appeal so if you're looking for story I don't think this is the best game to buy.

With flaws like that, I'm pretty amazed that I still found the game generally appealing. The levels are amazing, the puzzles are good enough to keep you thinking, but not too hard that you'd just throw the controller away. I do hope I get to finish this. :3

Persona 3 TOYS!!!

I know I just finised the game but I'm still suffering from the obsession. Even playing Kya can't turn me away from it. So while trying to sate my hunger for Persona I decided to browse around some sites and look for Persona wallpaper for my desktop... and I came across this Unofficial Japanese DDS Series Website

Gosh I wish I knew how to read Japanese D:

Anyway, I spotted these really awesome toys that would do quite well in my room...

Finished Persona 3!!! **possible spoilers included!**

Whoooooo!!! Nothing compares to the joy I feel after playing 110+ hours of Persona 3 I am finally done!!! Honestly I've been through a damn lot, the character development is amazing! I really feel connected with all of them (hahah drama), especially Mitsuru, Aigis, and my main charrie who I promptly named Rocul Celesti. Bwahahaha. I was most impressed by Aigis's character development, she's a robot! C'mon! I didn't expect her to change in the first place! Her voice is insanely monotonous, but during the course of the game she's starting to sound so human. She develops these emotions in her voice that wasn't even there in the first place. It was just amazing. XD

I'm not going to talk about how the blunders I faced fighting Nyx but huwaw. The ending!!! It kinda saddens me that I couldn't max ALL the social links, especially the fact that I never got a proper girlfriend in the game D: I was too busy chasing all the girls that I failed to complete the link in at least one... darn D:

I still have a save file that has 24 days remaining until the last battle, so I guess I could play that over and over again without training and see all the maxed out links of all the girls. Especially Mitsuru and Yukari. Nyahahaha. Na-bitin talaga ako... kaka-inis!!!

Now let's talk about the ending, I'm not going to lie about how touchy I felt when watching it. Honestly, I thought I was going to cry... especialy the part when I was facing Death all alone and everyone else was cheering for me. Drama. So much drama. Ahahaha. I thought my main character was going to die... and when he emerged from Tartarus and everyone else was smiling, and Aigis (the really cute robot) was crying... it was crazy. It was touching. I won't lie. :')

I thought the ending was crap at the moment since I knew that everyone will forget what will happened to them, their battles, everything they all have been through... (I did the crap ending by the way, and I swear... that was really a BAD ending) Then Aigis, being a robot (I don't know how many times I have to repeat this) is the only one who can actually remember. Mitsuru's cutscene with her speech was lovely too. The ending of the game did so much justice. 110 hours of gameplay was really all worth it. What really touched me most was Aigis crying. I don't know why. But I felt like crying too... D: I am such a sissy.

The part where Aigis and my character was lying out on the rooftop, my character resting his head on Aigis' legs (which strick me as odd since they must be a bit hard with her being a robot and all) and Aigis talking about how she would protect him, or sacrifice everything for him because it's what she truly wants and all that. It was just soooo sweet, Aigis was crying, and my character was just wiping the tears off her face (although, I did wish it was Mitsuru and not Aigis).

Then something pissed me off. My CD was crap (don't bother asking why) and the ending skipped out on me!!! The last cutscene!!!!! RAAAAARGH!!! So right now I'm on YouTube watching the part that I missed out on. Thank God for YouTUbe!!!

Click here if you wanna watch it as well although, it wouldn't affect you that much if you haven't finished the game. Hahahaha

So apparently.... a lot of people claim that the main guy dies on Aigis' lap... so heartwrenching.... I know Mitsuru isn't his main love interest... It's probably Yukari or Aigis, but Aigis makes for a really swell character. Nice voice acting too. I can't wait for Persona FES and play Episode Aigis XD

Aigis Aigis Aigis... beautiful bittersweet ending...KUDOS TO ATLUS!!! Makers of such original games XD

Ever heard of Portal? It's a PC game that can't run on my comp. Yes, that fact bothers me much since I don't have the moolah to get upgrades for the PC. But I really want to play it, like Half-life and all that. Gads... If this PC gets an upgrade Orange Box is the first game on my list...

Hey! It's comin' out on the ps3 too!! hahaha anyways, while browsing around GameSpot I found a link to a Portal flash version on Newgrounds but if you want to take a look for yourself, click here

Have fun

Prince of Persia

**contains spoilers**

I finished Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time today in under 10 hours. I didn't know it was that short... hahaha it was too short!!! I can't believe that I've forgotten most of the story as well... I found myself gasping when Farah fell of the cliff haha. I forgot that she was going to die.

To tell truth I was really annoyed with the girl at first... her body figure was too curvy for me XD ...and she seemed too slutty

The last level of the game annoyed the hell outta me wahahaha I kept falling off the cliff because of my stupidity, and since Farah took the dagger of time I couldn't rewind and save my ass.

So... that's over and done with, I plan to play Kya next...well after Persona 3 that is. After 80+ hours of playing that RPG I can't believe that I ain't even done yet.

Hot Spring Scene

It's been ages since I've played Persona, so I thought, let's have a go at it again. (I finally got Mitsuru back after such a long wait :3) So anyway, the guys were on a school trip to Kyoto. Honestly , I was expecting the girls to dress up as geishas but what I got was waaaaay better. I'm in no mood to explain, so just watch this clip of it on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsiLGTAGcMg

(this is edited, Aigis was the one who spotted me, but I decided to feature this clip instead since it had Mitsuru in a towel :3 I didn't get to see her like that in the game. Hahaha XD)

Mitsuru's execution... hahaha gods, what I would do to witness that. I've been thinking, could it be some S&M thing? Wahahahaha XD bring out the whips and the leather, girls!! Naughty! Naughty!! Damn I really wanna see it in action!! D: Sadly I found something concerning this...

"According to the Japanese fan book, Mitsuru's execution was using Mabufudyne on them. Yukari mentions that they had to defrost them, and even though Ryoji is an outsider, he says that he thought it was a dream. Akihiko was so afraid of the execution because his persona's weakness is ice. " This explanation ruins me D: I pray that it's unofficial XD

On other news... besides Persona... I decided to replay Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It's been two years (?) when I last played it, and I felt nostalgic about kicking zombie ass... I loved solving the puzzles the most, and since it's been a year, I bet I've forgotten how to do some.

Counter Strike

I know CS is such an old game, but this is actually the first time I've played it. I'm used to 1st person shooters and all that, but the idea of competing against friends for the first time is actually really really thrilling XD We rented a VIP room in the internet cafe, and there were only 2 of us n00bs who had no idea how to play it. The learning curve for the shooter was just 5 minutes, hahaha, after a while I shooting heads off... well, no not really. I always kept dying. Everyone else was so pro with this game XD

After 30 minutes in the game we decided to all team up and fight against the bots. Everyone was yelling, laughing, cheering, and of course... cursing. "Puta"s and "putang ina"s were in the air, we had to close off the room so that the kids outside wouldn't hear.

I do intend to play this game again, one day, I'll be the one shooting heads off. Whooo yeah.

Naruto

I've just returned from my cousin's place. While I was there i decided to try out Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Accel. Everything was in Japanese, and you just have to be a complete fan to get it. Hahaha I on the other hand enjoyed the graphics, the gameplay, especially the fighting. My little cousin kicked my butt, though

I loved the fighting, it was different from the usually fighting games I've had my hands on, you have to be really quick here, and your eyes should be just as sharp. Being a slow button masher in this game could cost you a virtual life. Which could make it a downside... well... nope it isn't. Combos should be crazy quick if you wanna win here.

Btw... Jericho can't run on my comp. D:

PC gaming

Roit... I'm a born and bred PS gamer but I think there will be a time when I can't catch up with the next gen consoles, so I'm thinking... or still weighing the odds of becoming a PC gamer. Games are "kinda" cheap here in the Phil, and modding your PC for games can get kinda pricey, especially if your planning to use the comp for other purposes like my art. I don't think I'd be able to afford two comps... we'll see in a couple of years.

**currently downloading the Clive Barker's Jericho demo** I might have some fun tonight when I'm done with school work :3

Persona 3

One of the best games I've ever had my hands on, sadly I think it's a tad too long and repetitive especially on the dungeon exploring side of the game. I love the sim, the parts where you try to make friends to strengthen your personas and all that, especially the main story. I did have a feeling in my gut that Ikutski will forever be an ass. I was right. I hated him. Useless annoying ass.

I still don't know how far off I am from finishing the game, but I do know that I have to beat this guy named Nyx as said so by Wikipedia. Blah. I wish there was a way to train faster...it's hard to stay awake while in the dungeon, I usually find myself sleeping inbetween fights, and even if I do praise the excellent soundtrack of Persona 3 it gets a bit monotonous especially after 5 hours... which adds to the boring feel of the dungeons. Luckily I have my mp3 player to save me.

I want Mitsuru as part of my social link!! D:
