New Games

I have bought a bunch of new games now: Dead Space, Fable 2, Far cry 2 and Fallout 3. Although it was costly, each game delivered for me and here are my first impressions so far:

Dead Space: This game reminds me of Resi 4 in space. The atmosphere is chilling throughout and you will never know when the next necromorph will pop up. The melee is a bit rubbish though; sometimes I cant get a hit in! So far so good.

Fable 2: Ill admit that the story is kind of just your usual hero tale, but the game has depth. There is tons to do and see, ranging from jobs, some of which are quite repetitive and time consuming, to various side quests. Co-op is fun but it is a shame you cant bring your own character into the game. The dog is awesome. So far so good.

Far cry 2: Out of these games, far cry 2 is probably not the best in my opinion. While the gameworld is massive, trudging to each mission can be time consuming and annoying when passing through guard posts all the time. However gunplay is still fun but the ai is inconsistent. Still though, it is an impressive game.

Fallout 3: This game has had a big amount of hype surrounding it and in my opinion, it delivered. The atmosphere creates a dark and disturbing picture of a post nuclear world. Gunplay is not the usual twitch shooter, and the addition of VATS creates a tactical element. However I normally find that I choose get close to an enemy, use vats, pop a few rounds, retreat, pop a few rounds and repeat. Still, it is a truly immense game and so far, very good.

Roots Manuva

I first stumbled upon Roots Manuva when I saw a review for his new album "slime and reason", receiving 5 stars (the newspaper was the sunday times).

I knew I had to listen and I loved it! This mixture of hip-hop with elements of reggae and funk was great and I encourage you to listen to him.

Possible games of the year

It is really hard to choose one game out of all the great games already out this year and the ones appearing later. Although I haven't played some of these games, it seems pretty clear judjing from previews and impressions that they are great games. These games are: Fallout 3 - I haven't even played the previous games and I want this; the depth of exploration not seen since oblivion, the great array of quests, the graphics; it just seems brilliant.

Fable 2 - Again, I haven't played the first but this seems like a new step in gaming, with the seamless co - op options, it is sure to be a top contender for GOTY.

GTA 4 - with the move away from the "fun" elements of san andreas *jetpacks* GTA 4 seems to immerse you in its world with a compelling storyline, improved controls and more.

MGS4 - I don't own a PS3 and cant tell much of this, but judging from reviews, it surely must be a contender

Far cry 2 - The exploration seems immense; 50 km of world has me drooling and it seems like a game which will last for ages, also with the replayability value of the map editor.

I probably havent mentioned all contenders - fill in the gaps and tell me what you think!

The Big Update

After God knows how many days, Im back posting. Already I have completed games such as Mass Effect for the pc and GTA 4, and I am still playing multiplayer. I wont give a review because im not bothered really but I would have given it only 9.5, somehow I prefer San Andreas.

Still playing oblivion, still very fun. Also looking forward to 4 games in particular this year; Far cry 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2. All WILL be good. Also, check out the new Call of Duty teaser with this link. WW2 seems cliche but it might turn out good.

GTA 4 - the time has come

Finally, GTA 4 is in my hands, and I have already played around 2 hours of it. It is nothing short of brilliant. For those who say the game is overrated, think again. It deserves more than 9.5 - games like gears of war have achieved 9.6 and are you seriously saying such a game can be better, what with the flaws? What do you think? By the way, gameplay is sick.

Anyway, check out my review ill be posting later.

GTA 4 - The time is near

GTA 4 is coming out soon, and the hype for a game has never been so high. I have already read a review from IGN which awarded the game a perfect ten. I can only imagine how good this game will be. The multiplayer looks exciting too.

For those who do not agree with the score, they cannot say jack sh*t because they have not played it yet. To be honest i think Gamespot will gave the game a score above 9.6. Tell me your thoughts on the upcoming game.

Mass effect

Since I got my xbox360, i have been thinking about getting mass effect. However, there is a pc version coming out, and i wonder if it will be better. I hear a lot about crashes and technical issues for the 360 version and also the save system; the will allow quicksaves on the pc. Be free to post any comment on what you think i should do.

Okami for the wii

I have just realised that okami is actually coming out for the wii. I hadn't heard of this game until today, when i saw a review for it. It looks sick! It does remind me os Twilight princess which was a great game. I also like the paintbrush thing with the wii remote. It certainly is innovative and the visuals are unique. I am certainly looking forward to this game.

Upcomig releases for 360

So many games coming up for the 360 im just here to summarise them. So, here we go;

Alone in the dark: This game looks seriously cool. The control use looks sick as well. It looks as if there are no boundaries to what you can do in this game. It should be good.

Alan wake: When was this game announced first? Anyway, the noir atmospher of the game looks seriously cool.

Bioshock 2: Not much to say, but I CANT WAIT!

Dark sector: Not sure about this game, sort of looks like a retarded version of gears of war (which was brilliant) but we'll see.

GOW2: Whats there to say? The trailer leaves me drooling like a baby and an already fascinating prospect.

Huxley: A MMOFPS, this game certainly should appeal to bothe FPS and RPG fans alike.

R6V2: This game looks similar to the first one...but who cares?? The gameplay was sick!

Of course, these are not all the games coming out for the 360 but they certainly are the coolest, in my opinion of course.

New games for my 360

Have recently got some great new games for the 360. Oblivion, Halo 3 and NBA 2K8. All are great, especially oblivion. I am not much of an rpg fan but oblivion has really changed my mind. There is so much stuff to do in it but it still proves to be a fun game. Halo 3 is also fantastic (check out my review which for some reason hasn't turned up on my profile, nor have any recent ratings).

Thinking about Dark sector. Looks good but looks quite...repetitive, maybe. Same with Legendary, im not really sure what to think about it. Ah well, all in due course.

But you know whats going to b a brill game; alone in the dark. You can basically do anything in that game; it just looks to good to be true.

Assassins creed for pc

Anyone who has played assassins creed for the xbox 360 knows that there are many controls for the game, ranging from combat movements to running away from enemies. I just dont see how this will work for the pc. I mean, with a keyboard?!?! COMON!!!!!!!!!

I found the same problem with prince of persia. The pc version just didnt seem right for platforming and killing people with swords, but when i switched over to the gamecube i found it much easier to play. Anyone agree?

Wii games - lets face it - are dismal. The lousy wii ports dont stop coming and frankly i am just tired of it. LETS HAVE A PROPER Wii GAME LIKE SUPER MARIO GALAXY OR RESI4
