On a Roll

Well, I've recently been focused on my gaming. Beat 3 games in the past week. I'm quite proud of that accomplishment. But I still have about 20-something games that are unfinished/unplayed in my collection. That number is going to grow before the end of the year with Dragon Age: Origins, Modern Warfare 2, and possibly Assassin's Creed II.

Recently Completed:

Uncharted 2: Among Theives (PS3)

Game of the year. Most definitely. No doubt about it.

If you're into shooters, action games, and/or adventure games; there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't have U2:AT in your collection. The game is just great. The animation, the characters, the voice-acting, the presentation (production is through the roof!!!), the cinematography, the gameplay, and the story...it is the complete package. Just go get the game if you haven't already. NOW!!!

Rating: 9.5

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)

R&CF:ToD was a damn good game. But it wasn't as good as the PS2 installments. Mainly because the boss encounters weren't as challenging. The boss battles were quite easy, especially the final boss. Now I'll admit that could have been due to my weapons being high-leveled though. Nevertheless, it was worth my time and I had a good fun with it.

Rating: 8.5

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (PS3)

R&CF:QfB is good. But it changes up the typical R&C formula. There is no Clank and the usage of guns mostly takes a backseat to the platforming and puzzle-solving. Now I'm not really complaining about that since I don't mind platforming and puzzle-solving. But in my opinion, the appeal of the R&C franchise is its weapons. So it was a tad bit disappointing that they weren't the focus. In the end though, it was worth the price of admission. The game served its purpose: to bridge the gap between Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time.

Rating: 8.0

On Deck:

Eternal Sonata (PS3)

While I'm waiting for Borderlands and Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time to arrive, I figured I would go through Eternal Sonata. I already played and beat the 360 version. The game was good, but it felt like something was missing by time the credits were rolling. So I'll see if the PS3 version's additions will make it feel more complete.

Recent Purchases:

Borderlands (PS3)

Can't wait to play Borderlands! Not concerned with the single-player campaign really. It's the multiplayer co-op I'm looking forward to. I have fond memories of playing Modern Warfare with Anthony (amlabella) and Andy (Thingol4), Crackdown with Max (AzelKosMos) and Andy, and recently I had a riot with Max and Andy when playing Uncharted 2. Borderlands is gonna bring some memorable moments. I can feel it in me bones!!!

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (PS3)

The R&C series is quality. So I'm damn sure ACiT will be good. Looking forward to playing it so I can see how things get wrapped up.

Well, that's the end of another blog. Hopefully everyone has been doing good. Take care of yourselves. Later peeps!

Ewww, most of those games are icky. I need to get the PS3 version of ES sometime, but who knows if I would play it after going through the original twice. So you think U2 is GotY without playing Dragon Age?
Posted 10/31/2009 10:47pm
@KenshinGirl - U2 is my GotY so far Angel. Dragon Age, MW2, and even ACII have the possibility of changing that. We shall see.
Posted 10/31/2009 10:50pm
Then you should say "so far" up there instead of "most definitely." xD
Posted 10/31/2009 10:52pm
@KenshinGirl - You just hush. Hush your mouth right now.
Posted 10/31/2009 10:55pm
Fiiiiiine. *starts stealing your stuff instead*
Posted 10/31/2009 10:57pm
@KenshinGirl - I'm gonna break those thieving hands of yours!!!
Posted 10/31/2009 10:59pm
Oh? I'll break yours first. You did come and steal my art book, so you started it. =O
Posted 10/31/2009 11:01pm
@KenshinGirl - I don't know what you are talking about... >_>
Posted 10/31/2009 11:10pm
Suuuure you don't. I'm surprised you only took off with the art book. You threatened to take those figures before. =O

You have too much time on your hands Ron, the last game I beat...jeez I don't even remember it. No wait, that was Yoshi's Island in like...September. Damn either I'm too slow, or you're too fast

Anyways you'll love Borderlands co op, it's freaking awesome and fun.

@siLVURcross - I wish I had more time Bryan. Work gets in the way. >_>

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to playing Borderlands man. Feedback has been mostly positive so far.

You didn't play them. You flew through them! Shame... hrmph. You did so well until you added Borderlands to your list. Bleh. I'll give you credit for choosing that over Brutal Legend though. Oh, U2 will be GOTY too.

1/6= RPG.

You're going to be angry with me but I haven't started U2 yet But I have some valid reasons : first I'm still sick (bleh!) and second, I'm into a racing game mood, I've played Dirt 2, then Dirt and now I'm busy with Forza 2. It isn't that easy to concentrate on an RPG or a game packed with action (like U2) when you're sick so I'm just racing around.

I think Eternal Sonata is one of the better J-RPGs on the 360 (of course LO is better ) so have fun. Borderlands seems like a very fun game.. if you're not playing it solo. I almost bought it but neh, didn't do it after all.

I approve of all the above pictured games though could have done without the mention of MW

Game of the year you say? I've heard others say uncharted was great, so i hope you are right.
Posted 11/01/2009 8:06am
@Glazkrak - Goodness Glaz, you've been such a grump lately.

@Lightfellower - Jude, we have to to expand your game genres. You are worse than Angel when it comes to that...well, except that she buys every RPG in existence...and you just buy the bad ones.

@tinoshke - Christine...I'm appalled that you haven't played U2 yet. Shame on you!

As for LO being better than ES...even with ES and all it's Twilight Zone wackiness toward the end, it is STILL better than LO. But neither of those two can be compared to the greatness that is Tales of Vesperia. Now THAT is the best JRPG on the 360.

@AzelKosMos - We will settle this during Borderlands my friend...

@N8A - Oh, I am right Nate. I am right.

Hey! That was a largely positive comment by me Ron XD
Posted 11/01/2009 8:42am
Wow, 3 games in one week? That beats my max of...1. I'm hoping to get the new Ratchet & Clank this week, but hopefully it's more of a challenge than Tools of Destruction. I also had a really easy time with that game. I'll probably also be getting Dragon Age this week, and then there's Modern Warfare 2 in a week. I'll definitely have plenty of stuff to play. And I'm totally looking forward to playing co-op Borderlands.

I can already tell what class Ron will go in Borderlands....Soldier. Or Brick.
