SH4 and Siren 2

I've had SH4 for ages but I've never gotten around to giving it a fair chance until a couple of days ago. Must say I am thoroughly enjoying it, even though it has nothing on SH2, which is one of my favorite games ever. I am also on the constant lookout for cheap PAL copies of SH3, so give a shout if you have a link for some.

Yesterday I found Forbidden Siren 2 at a PS2 outlet and before I could stop myself I had bought it. The first one is an absolute horrific experience... but for all the wrong reasons. The gameplay is tedious and frustrating and the entire game is one great big fun-sucker. However, according to numerous reviews, some here on GS, the developers have eliminated everything that was annoying in 1 and made the sequel a true survival horror pleasure. I can't wait to try it!

I feel...

..really good today. Surprisingly good, in fact. Not sure what has put me in such a sunny mood but it's nice for a change. I'm all out of games to play though, which in itself should be enough to make me pout like a puppy. Recently I played Kessen and some older games, but now I've gone through my entire collection.

Any tips on older games for the PS2? (They have to be older or I won't afford them =P)

Don't know what's up tonight. Probably being treated to a nice dinner and then some beers and maybe a movie.

Haunting Ground 2.0

I finished Haunting Ground last night! And I must say that I absolutely loved it. I think the reason why I was so annoyed by it before was because when I've completed a game once already and want to replay it, I tend to want to rush through it just to get at the story, and that's why the gameplay frustrated me. When I actually took the time to let myself into the game more I started noticing things more and Debilitas got his ass handed to him more than once!

Also, I found an old memory card with some completed game data so I could get the invisibility earrings and the choker that helped you regain stamina faster. The invisibility helped a lot, even though whether or not it actually hid me from the enemies seemed to be a bit random throughout the game. Sometimes they found me in impossible places and other times they just ran right past me when I was obviously not hidden properly.

What really got me this time (actually more than during my first playthrough) was the relationship you build between Hewie and Fiona. It moved me so much and when Hewie was injured I almost started crying! It's such a perfect element in a huge scary game where you're all alone, to have him pawing along beside you, wagging his cute little tail.
When I finished I got the ending A and I gained the title "Top Breeder" for having relationship level A with Hewie. I cuddle him and made him shake paws all the time. Cuuute!

Haunting Ground

I gave Haunting Ground a second replay go a couple of days ago and it's just sofriggin annooooying! God, I haven't even made it past Debilitas yet and already I'm fed up with being interrupted every 5 minutes and having to drop everything and run. There's no time left for any kind of progress! And being chased all the damn time really eliminates a big part of the scare. With Nemesis in RE3 for example you got startled every time he popped up because he left you alone for a while so you wasn't expecting him at all, whereas in Haunting Ground you're always expecting to bump intoDebilitas every corner you turn so it's just not scary anymore, just repetitive and frustrating!

The Incredible Hulk

Borrowing this from a friend, I prepared myself to laugh at and relentlessly scorn the ultra gayness that is the Marvel universe but instead I got completely sucked in and when the end credits started rolling I almost did a mental slow motion Nooo- run. I have to watch Ironman next. Damn you, gay Marvel universe!
