Okami for the DS! Yes!
After playing the wonderful game of Okami (the PS2 version, which is superior to the Wii version. This is since it doesn't lag or have terrible controle detection...thanks Ready at Dawn for focusing on God of War rather than Okami..), they are coming out with the sequel for DS.
PLOT SPOILER:
If you haven't checked out for details at the Gamestop coverage of it, well, you play as another white wolf who gets similar powers after Amaterasu leaves to fight threats in the heavens, and monsters soon return again to Amaterasu's island home.
SPOILER END:
Okami was a great game and the guidebook that was released that covers the whole game and it's many aspects was excellent. I recommend getting it.
Okami Official Complete Works was a great book to get as well.
Wolves in Japan have gotten alot of attention lately in Japan. They have made Wolf's Rain, and making the show Spice and Wolf, based on the great literature of the same name. Plus the Japanese wolf has been talked about in the book, The Last Wolves of Japan, by Brett Walker. And the Shinsengumi (aka the Wolves of Mibu), who embodied the spirit, savage nature, and nobleness of wolves, have been covered over many years in Rurouni Kenshin, Peacemaker Kurogane in anime, and great videogames for the Japanese PS2, like Fu-Un Shinsengumi and Shinsengumi Gunrouden.
The new Okami for DS continues this, and hopefully this trend in media will continue to honor the once Japanese worshipped wolf god, Oguchi no Magami, or Large Mouth Pure God. And one day, maybe wolves can re-populate in Japan once more.
Until that time, look forward to another hit in the future to the great franchise that Okami is.

Don't vote for McCain Palin Tomorrow.
I would classify this as politics, but there is no category for that. Now then,
Please don't vote for McCain or Palin tomorrow.
McCain has supported in the past the Bush Admin and has 0 for an environmental record. He supported the idea of moving Navajo off their land for coal near Black Mesa, Arizona. McCain supported the PMC Blackwater, who slaughtered civilians and was supported by the now dead anti-gay racist Jerry Falwell.
Palin profits off of the destruction of wolves, bears and other animals.
She supports the drilling of ANWR and if McCain doesn't survive in office, she will be your president.
She is also against abortion in the cases of rape and incest. She has little experience, yet the republicans think she is qualified for office.
Please don't vote for McCain as well as don't let your families and friends vote for them either. No to McCain and Palin! For humans and wolves and for all!

Brain Age Author rejects the idea of royalties.
Here is a cue that the Writer's Guild needs to follow. Money isn't everything. Check out this article that was in Yahoo this morning.
Game researcher ducks millions in royalties
Co-developer of multi-million seller 'Brain Age' gave royalty share to college construction efforts.
By Mike Smith
Ryuta Kawashima, the researcher behind Nintendo's Brain Age series of games for the DS portable system, would rather be working than enjoying $11 million in royalties he could have earned from his creations.
"Not a single yen has gone in my pocket," Dr. Kawashima told the AFP in a recent interview. Kawashima, whose likeness was heavily featured in the best-selling Brain Age games, is instantly recognizable to almost 12 million gamers worldwide.
Under the terms of his agreement with his employer, Tohoku University in Japan's north-east region, Kawashima was entitled to accept half the Brain Age royalties personally. Instead, he used the proceeds to help fund $6.5 million in construction projects on Tohoku's campus.
"My hobby is work," he said. "Everyone in my family is mad at me but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it."
Kawashima, who strictly monitors his teenage sons' gaming time, is currently working on a four-year project to study brain development in children. He's also cooperating with Toyota to develop a car designed to keep elderly drivers alert.

Okami Update
Okami Update
Nintendo Power's January
2008 issue goes into the
game Okami. Okami is the
underappreciated
game for PS2 that did well in Japan but not so
well in the rest of the world.
The game is getting new life
as a game for the Wii.
It's well talked about in
the issue as it goes into
the characters of the series,
primarily the heroes and
villains.
The issue has an interview with
Ready at Dawn's President Didier
Malenfant. The interview
didn't tell too much about the
controls for the Wii yet.
And Malenfant doesn't foresee
any special additions exclusive
for the Wii.
Primarily he thinks the game
is great intact and doesn't
want to alter it. He wants
people to experience exactly
what PS2 owners experienced
and doesn't want original
fans to feel anything has
been left out.
However he did say in the
interview that nothing has
been ruled out.
I hope so. It would be
great to make Okami for the
Wii distinct in some way.
Just like how Resident Evil 4
for the PS2 was different than
for the Gamecube for example.
With more modes, stories and
characters to play as.
Nintendo Power reports also
that the long delayed U.S.
Release of Okami: Official
Complete Works will be released
Februrary this year by Udon
Comics.
Definitely pick up this
issue of Nintendo Power
for the full interview and
the great art of Okami in it.

What do you guys think? Think it will be a great Street Fighter game? We haven't seen an official one truly since EX3 so hopefully this one will be a great successor to it and 3rd Strike.

Okami for Wii
Okami is coming out for the Wii. It has been officially confirmed by this month's issue of Game Informer and Nintendo Power.
It will be developed at Ready at Dawn, the company responsible for the Daxter games.
Definitely tell your friends about this and promote it. Hopefully this time around it will sell enough to the rest of the world besides Japan to warrant a sequel.
