I'm so glad I finally came to my senses and turned my ear to Talib Kweli. A Brooklyn rapper that spits exactly what's on his mind and does it with ease. Kweli's style and flow is addictive and clever. It keeps you listening; not hitting the skip button in fear of missing a hot line. This album has 14 great tracks with a hilarious intro from comedian Dave Chappelle. Good to You is my favorite song. It has an awesome beat from Kayne and Kweli raps about his style of music. Kweli accomplishes rapping about something other than money, sex, drugs, and guns; and doesn't sound corny doing it. While your buying this CD pick up his newest album The Beautiful Struggle.

This is the only album I own of Memphis Bleek as a solo artist. It is a quality CD chalk full of feel good songs to blast in your car stereo. The lyrics are above average, but it isn't the best lyrical album you'll hear. Jay-Z drops a track called Dear Summer that is definitly worth listening to. My favorite song on the whole album is All About Me. It is a song about Bleek's day-to-day life that sounds good all around. If you don't mind dishin' out about $16 for this album and you enjoy listening to other Roc-a-fella artists you should probably buy this CD. Plus it has some footlocker coups inside! Yeah!

This album is an instant classic. Common's smooth lyrical flow with kayne west's inspiring beats is a match made in heaven. If hip-hop isn't your thing you still can't help but love this album. Common is too often overlooked and this album brings him back in perspective. A must have for any hip-hop fan's collection. Buy it!

When it comes to lyrics no MC alive or maybe even dead can compare to Nas. This is why this album is one of my favorites. Nas comes through with compeling lyrics and quality beats that real rap fans can love and appreciate. If you are more of a mainstream pop rap listener either don't bother; or buy this album and get some knowledge on one of the greatest rappers ever. Both discs to this double disc album are great and balanced. Suicide Bounce is my personal favorite song. It features Busta Rhymes on the choures and two awesome versus from Nas with a killer beat. This song shows Nas's dominance of lyric ability. A song for originality would be Bridging the Gap that features Nas's father. This song bridges the gap between his father's blues and Nas's raps. A classic record that everyone should hear. Overall the album serves as a testimony to why Nas is a step above anyone ever to pick up a mic.

Before this album I felt that Outkast was the best rap group to ever come out of the south. This album started to change my thinking. This happened when Andre 3000 turned into a signer and left his rapping edge and originality. It was a little disappointing to hear him sing for 16 of his tracks and rap on the other 3. Big Bio seemed to do his thing, still his lyrics on marriage and his kids gets a little watery. The Speakerboxxx side of the album can still be played loud in your car from track to track. Yet, keep the Love Below at home to play for your girl. Don't get my wrong, I love Outkast, I believe this is just a step out to the edge. I hope they come back in and make a album a little closer to their past work.I still feel this is a great album (that's why I rated it so high)so if you are not a complete hardcore rap listener you may enjoy this one.
