Fourth Entry: " Bad Overture for two months"

Well, the word has been said.

Apparently, I need to go to school at 6:30 every morning-and then leave at 6:00-to make up my science work. Then, an hour a day working on other missing stuff, on top of current homework means late nights.

In two weeks, I'll be done with my science, and (hopefully) math.

After that, its just science and spanish, then I'm okay.

I'm trying to do a years work in one month. This is going to be insane.

I'm still getting a PSP. You know-for inbetween travel time. I'm thinking of Lumines- along with a little Twisted Metal. You know, to start. Are they still selling that Spiderman 2 thing with it? I want one. That was a good movie.

I'm really sleepy. Really, really sleepy.

This saturday, the main goal is to catch up on sleep. Then, play games for a long while. Then, work for an even longer amount of time.

This is going to suck.

I hope you all have a good two months, though.....

Third Entry: "Bad News"

Bad news, world.

My teachers have called my house to inform me that there is a high chance of me not being promoted to the next grade.

I asked them why, and this is what they told me-

"Your midterm grades were-

Math-98
Humanities-100
Science-100
Spanish-95

etc, similar grades.

But, throughout the whole year, I have done maybe 4 or 5 homework assignments.

Thats inexcusable."

That is inexcusable for me as well. There are so many things I want to do in a day, Homework isn't very high on the list.
Add this to my end of the year goals-

*Get 99 in all classes, hand in all homework.

Ambitious, maybe. But I will try.

Second Entry-'Maybe I should start naming my passages?'

Oi.

I just finished doing a show last night- 'Jesus Christ Superstar'- where I played Judas Iscariot.

Now that thats over, fun is to be had.

I've scrounged up enough money to buy a PSP, get a nice big Memory Stick, and a game. (I'm probably getting Lumines, though there was an RPG that was supposed to come out at launch I really wanted...I forgot its name.)

If everything goes well, I'll be obtaining that today. Hopefully, Bestbuy still has one or two in the back.

I contemplated working on my programming and stuff today...but I'm way too lazy. I'll start tommorow, probably.

Also-somehow, in one day, I managed to jump to 81% level 2. Maybe by tommorow I'll be level 3?

First Entry

First Off, Welcome.

This Journal will depict a struggle.

A struggle to mantian my gamerness.

As an artist, I have dropped my nerdiness, and thrived in music.

I haven't bought a game in forever.

I want to obtain a perfect balance between the 2.

So, here are my goals for both-

Performing Arts-In one year-
*Hit High E
*Play piano and learn theory for one year
*Take Guitar for one year and continue for both
*Take acting lessons

Nerd-in one year-
*Learn Python
*Learn a little C++
*Learn XHTML/HTML
*Build a gaming rig

Those are my goals.

I will update this everyday. Tommorow, it will be more interesting.

So come back.

Artist Review

...And the worlds greatest guitar player, Frank Zappa was more than just a rock star-he was a composer. With styles ranging from Doo-Wop to Protopunk to Progressive Big Band to Modern Classical, there is little Frank Zappa didn't experiment with.

He was known in his lifetime, though not for his music, but for his lyrics. A wonderful humourist and satirist, some of his lyrics are offending to some who can't get the joke.

If you can't laugh at yourself, and the rest of the world...then it's still worth getting in to Zappa. Just immerse yourself in his lush music. The only people who don't like Zappa are closeminded morons.

This album has little to no flaws on it, from start to finish. Considered the first 'prog-rock' album, it is as influential as it is amazing.

From the opening track, "Twenty First Century Schizoid Man", is a hard rocking song-definetley fantastic-but then, in the middle of the piece, they go in to this fantastic jazz-esque improv section ("Mirrors"). That blows everyones mind when they hear it.

Granted, that song is a fairly poor representation of the rest of the album. The following songs are equally good, but are far more mellow, and sad. Featuring meaningful lyrics, even though the album is consistent in greatness, it comes full swing energy wise only with the last track, "In The Court of the Crimson King", another fantastic track.

Every music lover should own this album.

Howlin Wolf is my favorite blues man. I'll admit-I mainly got him because of his influence on Captain Beefheart. Beefy really does do a great imatation of Wolf's voice!

That alone should tell you how great a singer he is. It's incredibly powerful, and at times scary. This album is filled with classic after classic song. Highlights are -"Smokestack Lightning","Tell Me","Evil","Wang Dang Doodle", and "Coming Down Slow", an absolutley fabulous song.

Other things to definetley keep in mind is the amazing guitar.

On production, these are-I'm not even sure if they've been remastered-very old school sounding. That doesn't hurt the music, though.

Another thing-this is a compilation of Wolf's first two albums. For some reason, the second album is before the first. And even though the album claims they've cut a song due to lack of space on the album, it only clocks in at 66 mins.

At anyrate, buy it! Now! You won't be disappointed.
