"More proof that statistics can be used to prove pretty much any view you like. There've been several reports on how Wii and PS3 are doing in Japan this week, yet with two considerably different spins on their respective fortunes.

How so? Well, I4U News is reporting that Wii outsold PS3 by over 4 to 1 in July - Nintendo flogged 396,752 consoles compared to Sony's 91,987 (for the record, Xbox 360 shifted a meagre 17,970 units in the month). PS3's rubbish, eh?

But hang on a minute. A seperate report from Gamesindustry.biz points out that in the last week of July, Sony sold 28,829 PS3s - double the previous week - while sales of Wii actually dropped in that period. Although it still sold 77,000 units in that last week - that's not quite three times PS3's total, so the gap is narrowing. Wii's rubbish, eh?

I think that after this years E3, gamers are starting to realise that the PS3 has finally grown some legs, and plans to walk with them. though, i know that it wont , if at all, regain its dominance from the previous generation, it will definetly be succesful in its own right, and with an expected life span of 10 years, they are only getting started. Sonys starting to prove that its nextgen console can live up to the competition

Hell, the PS3s Processing Chip has 8 3.2GHz, and the 360 has 3 3.2GHz...(PS3s graphics specs are better too)

I think its gay how peopledis on the PS3, the 360 wasnt all that great its first year of release, obviously the developers had to adapt to create better games for it. So obviously developers will tap intoSonys potential in the coming year. Besides the only thing that defines a console is what the developers are doing with it. So, its not so much the PS3 sucks, as much as the developers just arent quite capable of figuring the system out.

Anyways, i dont mean to come off as a fanboy, but i just think it deserves a little more credit than what its getting. And yes, if i ever get a PS3, Teh Wash can play Heavenly Sword and MGS4. Hopefully I can get my choice between the PS and 360 before my g-ma plans to buy me one in the coming months.
