BBAS - The Reality

Well, in my last post, I whittled down the 14 players to the 2 who I thought would most likely win the game, Chicken George or Erika.

Although the season didn't play out exactly like I predicted (and thank God for that), Erika did manage to make it to the F2, and she has a realistic shot of winning the game and thus ruining the credibility of Big Brother.

I hope Boogie wins on Tuesday so that we can at least feel good that Dr. Will ultimately ruled the game, even if he himself didn't realize the goal of winning again.

BB: All-Stars - The Prediction

Well, now that our 14 Houseguests are confirmed, I'm going to make a short post running down the odds that each person has to win the game.  I may update this as the season goes on, but this is my preseason picks:

First of all, it's pretty much a guarantee that the Sov-4 and Will have no chance to win this game.  Even though it would be the most awesome final 5 in reality TV history, it just won't happen.

So, that leaves us with really only 9 people vying for the prize.  In this group of 9, there are some seriously deadly players (Danielle, Diane, Alison), some crazy people (Jase), and some floaters (Erika, George).  The chances of the deadly players or the crazy players making it to the end are very slim, especially in this All-Star game where everyone's game plan is laid out from the start.

So, taking them out of the equation, here is who I think our potential winner will come from:

Boogie, Marcellus, Chicken George, Erika, Nakomis

My guess is that Boogie and Marcellus will eventually get their comeuppance once they become pissed enough to open their mouths and screw themselves over.  Nakomis is a gamer, so once it gets down to the end, she could very well be taken out by the rest just because she's a strategical threat.

So the 2 people who have the biggest shot of winning the game are Chicken George and Erika, in my opinion.  The way I see it going down is that most of the players will diss George for coming from a totally different era in the BB history, and diss Erika for being as exciting as watching grass grow.  Ultimately, George seems to be the more outspoken person of the two, so my official pick to win BB7:  All-Stars is:

Erika Landin.

I hope to God I'm wrong.

Summer School

Well, I'm officially a junior in college now.  I'm taking 2 classes this summer so that I can graduate in May '08 instead of Dec. '09.  The hard thing is, that each of these classes is for 2 hours a day (8-9:55, 10:20-12:15) 5 days a week for 4 weeks straight.  For those of you in high school, it may not seem like a big deal, but trust me, it is.  I've never been this pressured to study and keep up with my classes like I am now.  It's so crazy.

Anyways, I'll get out June 26 (3 weeks from tomorrow), just in time for BIG BROTHER7!!!!!

A Season in Review - Survivor: Exile Island

It was just a mere 3 months ago that I eagerly anticipated the start of Survivor's new season, Exile Island.  I was looking forward to 4 tribes and Exile Island and to see how it played a part in the game.

Early on, my favorites were Terry, Cirie, Shane, Aras, and Austin.  I laughed as Shane struggled with his nicotine withdrawals.  I was saddened by Tina's love for her departed son, and her eventual departure from the game.

I was shocked to see that 4 tribes only lasted 1 episode, and the formation of Casaya and La Mina happened.  I was sure that La Mina would wipe the slate clean at challenges, and they did at first, providing us with a fantastic episode 2 which saw Shane attempt to quit, and the brazenly truthful Aras tell Cirie and Melinda that they were the weakest links.  I was not sad to see Melinda go, because it wasn't Cirie.

Episode 3 sparked the dominance of Casaya, and it began with Bruce joining Casaya.  La Mina lost back-to-back ICs, and it was apparent that they desperately depended on Terry to sustain themselves.  Misty, and then Ruth Marie, were the victims of the La Mina Boy's Club.

Then, a refreshing change hit.  Terry visited Exile Island, and to the surprise of America, TERRY found the hidden Immunity Idol!  I knew at this point that La Mina was a sinking ship, so I figured it would come into play at some point.

However, once La Mina finally won an IC, we had one of the best TCs ever, with deuces being dropped, alliances being tested, and 4 people receiving votes.  It didn't bode well for Bobby, and he left the game.

Right before we hit the 3 week-break, Dan the man was voted out of La Mina.  Sally was saved by Casaya and sent to Exile Island, so Terry, Austin, and Nick all agreed that Dan would go home.  Dan received one of the most glorious send-offs in Survivor history, a true American hero.

Finally, the merge hit!  La Mina was down 6-4, but with the hidden immunity idol always looming over the Gitanos camp, Casaya (and most notably Aras) were concerned it could come into play.  Terry went on an unprecendented winning streak, however, and managed to save himself (and the HII) week-after-week.  It did cost Nick, Austin, and Sally a chance to gain ground in the game, though.

Terry was outnumbered 6-1, and things were looking bleak for him.  Bruce all of a sudden became ill and was forced to be take out of the game.  When Terry won immunities 4 and 5, Casaya was FINALLY forced to begin eating it's own, and a very surprised Courtney and Shane were sent packing.

At the F4, the mad scramble for position happened, as the rivalry between Terry and Aras finally came to an explosive head, and Aras finally, after so many weeks, dethroned Terry as the immunity winner, and suddenly there was a tie between Cirie and Danielle.  It was a hard fought challenge, but Danielle's flame was better kept, and she won the challenge, sealing Cirie's fate, and giving Danielle and Terry the numbers.

In the F3, Danielle was stuck between the 2 dominant forces of this game, Terry and Aras.  It was apparent that this would be a battle to the death, and that Danielle would only have to sit on the sidelines and let the men fight it out.  That's not what happened, as Danielle shocked everyone by winning the final immunity, and she turned her back on her F2 alliance with Terry and took Aras to the F2.  It cost her the million dollars, as Aras won by a decisive 5-2 margin.

All-in-all, this was a fantastic season.  Each episode provided plenty of crazy drama (mostly attributed to the Crazy Casayas), and in the end, the winner was a deserving one.

I'll see you guys in the Fall for Survivor:  Cook Islands.

Big Brother Seasons

5.  BB3 - A lot of people love Big Brother 3, but it just seemed to be an average season.  There were some fights, but for the most part, it was all about deception.  I thought Marcellus and Josh were hilarious, but as a player, Marcellus made the biggest boneheaded move in BB history.  I also feel like Lisa was not that terribly satisfying of a winner, as I was rooting for Roddy there towards the end.  This season wasn't good, but it wasn't great.

4.  BB4 -
I know some of you are totally saying, "WTF?" when seeing that I didn't put this as last, but I did enjoy this season.  It was funny to see the Three Stooges believe that they were some ultimate alliance, and I always love a good villain, so Alison was gold for me.  I don't like how the game ended up (I would have liked to see Nathan, Jack, and Erika make it furthur), and I don't really like Jun as the winner, but the season was definitely more entertaining to me than BB3.

3.  BB5 -
This was a solid season.  It wasn't fantastic, but it was definitely above it's 2 preceding seasons.  The 4 Horsemen were fun to watch, especially Jase.  I really wish he had been able to stay longer.  I preferred Drew, Diane, and Marvin to the rest of the players, and Drew winning was the 2nd most satisfying win for me, after Dr. Will's triumph, so all in all, it was not on the par of the top 2, but it wasn't bad, either.

2.  BB6 -
BB6 is probably the most controversial season in BB history.  No doubt, a lot of people on here consider BB6 to be the best, even though probably 90% of those who do, haven't seen every season.  However, the Sovereign 6 is by far my favorite alliance of Big Brother.  If Kaysar, Janelle, Howie, and James had been the F4, I would have definitely put this season as #1.  Hell, if Janelle had won the last HoH and won over Ivette, I would have put it at #1.  So many great memories from this season (it was the only one that I got to see live feeds for), with the Fight Night between Michael and Eric, 8/15 with Hurricane Howie, and April calling American pieces of [crap] because we loved Janelle and not the Friendsheep.  However, Maggie was not a satisfying winner (although it was great that Ivette didn't win), and for that reason, it only gets a close second to the best BB season ever......

1.  BB2 -
Even though this was the most plain season in the sense that there was no PoV, and therefore the only drama was who got nominated, this season is my favorite in the sense that it had the best winner and overall best player in BB history, Dr. Will.  The Evil Doctor made it totally worth watching this season.  I hated Bunky, Autumn, Kent, Hardy, and Nicole (althought she made up for it by taking Will to the end), but Chill Town was awesome.  There was plenty of drama, fights, and tears, and for that reason, it's my favorite season of Big Brother.

What to expect from BB7 - To be honest, I really really think this season IS going to deliver, whereas a lot of fans didn't think that Survivor All-Stars did.  With there only being 12-14 Houseguests, we are sure to get the cream of the crop in the house, and not the ones who fly UTR.  All the big guns will be in firing at each other, and I fully expect this to be the most explosive season of BB.  Even though any Sovereigns who get in the House will be evicted early, as will Dr. Will, I still think this game has potential to become one of my favorites in reality history.
