The TenPlog: FREEDOM Edition!

Ahoy you swabs! It's the Fourh of July, 200ish years ago some people did some stuff and then became a country or something... I dunno, I'm not much into History. Nah, I'm teasing I know exactly what happened but regardless, today we celebrate our FREEDOM from those Limey English! And if you're not American, enjoy your COMMUNISM (Ha ha! Just kidding, but seriously you're all communists (Just kidding again!).)! So enjoy your freedom, I sure won't I have to work today (more on that later).

Let's get right on to me complaining, ranting or whatever I do in these things. I got a new jerb a couple months ago and honest I actually like it. It can get pretty stressful at times considering if I screw up badly enough I could either mangle myself or someone could get sick and die but let's look at the brightside. MONEY! This job starts off at 8 bucks an hour and by next summer I'll be making 12 bucks an hour. Sure that's not a whole lot in the scheme of things, and I've worked much better paying jobs but at least I'm doing something to get out of my fracking house.

Speaking of spending all my time at my house, I'm considering doing the unthinkable. Last month my two closest friends left me! One of them went to Chicago and the other to bootcamp. Now don't think I'm some socially awkward "I only have two friends" type o' guy, because I'm not but these two are really the only ones I'm most comfortable around and with them gone makes my social life a whole lot worse. Aside from my parents, brother, coworkers and customers I have no contact with other people and it's driving me insane. However, my pal who moved to Chicago is a large fan of the game World of Warcraft. Infact, him and I used to play together all the time. However I quit about a year before WotLK came out and he kept playing. So I've been considering getting back into the game so we could hang out again and talk more, even though it'll be over the tubes. And hey, it'll give me something to do instead of just browse the internet in all my free time. I think it'll be a great idea! What say you?

MOVING on, Transformers 2 was awesome. I don't give a flying **** if you disagree because I thought it rocked. The people I saw it with were extremely critical whining about not getting an Oscar worthy performance and having a silly story. Look guys, Transformers was about attractive people and robots beating the **** out of eachother. Nothing else, it was meant to entertain not force us to think about our lives.

MOVING ON AGAIN, let's get a questionaire going...

1.) Did you actually read my blog? Or do you not even care!? AAAAAAAUGH.

2.) Do you think the British Invasion of Music in the '60s and '70s was an attempt by the UK to get America under their control again?

3.) Doing anything cool today? (Or on the fourth, if you're reading this after the fourth.)

4.) What do you think this question should be?

5.) Derp

Hey bros!

Popping in to say hi! How are you all doing? You hear about this e3 thing that happened this past week? Preeetty nifty!

I've been good, passed all my classes! Though I've come to the realization that I'm still not quite ready for College. I worked hard and all but I didn't feel like I accomplished anything and I didn't really enjoy it. I still have to go through another 8 or 9 semesters to get my degree at my pace too. :\ So I think I'm gonna wait till I'm ready and willing for more schooling.

E3 thoughts!

So I watched the big three conferences for E3, they all did pretty well. Ninty was pretty bad until Metroid was shown and instantly I had a straight leg limp.

Games for each console are Alan Wake, Metroid and Uncharted 2. All 3 of them on my must buy (though not having an Xbox means I'll probably get AW on PC. Hey! I still get to play it, atleast.) PC game of the show was Star Wars: The Old Republic, without a doubt in my mind.

I'll make a seperate note, I'm pretty upset L4D2. Call me a whiner or a baby but I was rather let down with L4D after a couple weeks, and the fact that we're not getting any more of that famous Valve love because of the Sequel is upsetting.

Other Thoughts

HOLY **** STAR TREK WAS ****ING AWESOME. Burn Notice is finally back on! The season for Legend of the Seeker was great. I miss Battlestar Galactica. The Simpsons is a sick old dog, I love it but it needs to be put out of it's misery.

I don't think I'm quite there to become an active poster again, I do lurk the forums occasionally they're always filled with mega fanboys in SW, and politics/girl threads in OT. Perhaps I shall return one day, one day.

Questionaire to be cool ike jg4x!

1.) Are you glad TenP posted another blog?

2.) How glad?

3.) Is TenP arrogant and self centered?

4.) Care to explain?

5.) If you had the strength to wrastle a bear, would you use it for good or evil?

I'm getting pretty bored here. :(

This isn't really a TenPlog so I won't treat it like one but for some reason GS isn't doing for me what it did back when I signed up and started posting. Perhaps it's that system wars has lost most of it's charm, trolling still happens but it's not the same without the mega trolls like Ghost and PS_John. The OT has lost some of it's flair, too. Almost every thread that ever exceeds a single page is a religious/girl problem/politics/conspiracy theory thread, and while I do like to go into the Conspiracy theory threads and laugh at them it doesn't seem like they are doing it for me anymore.

I dunno, I guess I'm just gonna take a break from this place and come back later to see if it's gotten better.

I'll still check my PMs every once in a while so if you want to talk to me or get my AIM/MSN/Steam account feel free to contact me.

This'll be my last blog in a while if not my last, though I rarely blog much anyway.

The TenPlog Part 2: And this time it's personal.

What is up my Gamespot Readers, here's another exciting ( ) issue of my blog, yay! By the way, like the new picture?

I'm gonna get through the important stuff first, so first I'm gonna talk about the vidya gaemz I've been playing lately. (Ones I just started playing, that is.)

First up is Empire: Total War.

Despite only having 4 playable battles, including 2 tutorials, I've gotten more time out of the ETW Demo in just one weekend than out of the entire Dawn of War 2 Beta in the 3 weeks I've had it. It's rare that I play scenarios over and over again, and the only other time I have in a demo was with Left 4 Dead. ETW perfectly shows what it means to be a good RTS, it's deep and complex yet at the same time easy enough to get into. If you're a strategy fan I definitely advise you checking this out, from the demo alone I can tell that this will be a serious contender for my game of the year. The Main Menu music alone made me giddy for this game, like I want to go grab my musket and protect the colonies against the redcoats! My score: 9.5/10. However I'll have to wait till the full product comes out, that score might be boosted up to a 10 depending on the campaign!

Next up is BattleForge Beta!

I doubt many of you know anything about this game outside the recognition of the name. BattleForge is a trading card based RTS made by EA Phenomic (The guys behind SpellForce). It's quite interesting how it's done and it's hard to explain, but what I do know is it's pretty fun. It has a cartoony graphic setup similar to Warcraft 3, so if you're into that look it's right up your alley. The only problem I have with it is it's remarkably easy against the computer, even when they're on hard mode. I've yet to try out against other players, who I assume will be much harder. My score for it so far is 7.5/10! I'll see how good it is when I get more time to play it.

I've been playing a number of other games, but these are the newest ones so I wrote about them.

So onto Television shows.

Lie to Me is a show about liars, which I'm sure is pretty easy to guess. I've heard raving reviews about the show so I thought I'd check it out. It's pretty good, good enough that I've sat on Hulu and watched every single episode available. But why did I watch them? Well I did for the most part because I stayed home sick from ****and Work today and just watched it with a lack of anything else to do. I like it, it's cute, but I don't think it even near warrants the amount of Praise I've heard about it. It's really predictable and repetative (Always explaining EVERYTHING and whatnot). I'll give it a 6/10. I'm not giving it a D here, I consider 5 to be average. But it's just not what I was hoping it'd be.

That was my only TV show so I'll move onto the new part, Movies!

We'll start with Wyvern!

Hey TenP, why isn't there a Picture like the rest of them? Well I'll tell you, Wyvern is a Sci-Fi Original Picture. That means it's a B-Movie with no production value (That means no logo.) But I will say first I'm a little biased towards this movie, I love corny B-Movies and this one fits the role perfectly. It's about a small hillbilly town in Alaska that's attacked by a Wyvern (A Norse mythological Dragon, they keep trying to get the US Military involved but they all think it's hogwash so it's up to a trucker to save the day! I give it (on a B-Movie Scale, mind you) a 9/10! Terrible acting, hilarious awkwardness, and awful special effects! Just great for other B-Movie connoisseurs.

Next I'll go onto Splinter!

WHAT THE **** TENP, NO LOGO AGAIN? Well there are logos for this, but frankly I've gotten pretty lazy in the last 10 minutes of my life and I don't care to fix it to my 400x120 proportions and load it up (I might load them up later if I get less lazy). So I'll just be boring old text. Splinter is a movie about a convict and his wife who carjacks these hippies and takes them to a gas station. That's pretty much it.

Just kidding, there's a lot more to it. When they get to the gas station (to get coolant) they find that the gas station attendant isn't even there (the nerve). But when Mrs. Convict has to use the pisser, she finds the dead gas station attendant inside the loo. If you like Cactuses, and are intrigued by the thought of a Cactus Human Hybrid, check this out! For some reason it was actually rated as one of the best indie horror films of last year, but if you ask me it's just another B-Movie. On the B-Movie scale I'll rate it a whopping 11/10. Let me further explain the B-Movie scale for you, 10 for a B-movie is 5 for a regular movie. So that 11/10 would translate to a 5.5/10 in the hollywood movies.

---

So I'm sure you're all wondering about the review of Medieval 2 I promised last time, well I'll get it up eventually.

P.S. - last page of the Scout Update page is up. I can sum up my feelings in one word: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

Anyway, to be cool like jg4x, here's a quizeroo! (finish it or fail the ****ing c-l-a-s-s)

1.) Do you like B-Movies?

2.) Are you as lazy as I am?

3.) Where is Jimmy Hoffa buried? (+10 bonus points if you're correct)

4.) If I dislike Lobster and Wine, why does my good taste badge have lobster and wine on it?

5.) Who wants to go kill some Redcoats?
