My Wii shopping list

This is what I'm going to be buying come lunch time on Friday, Dec 8th.

Wii - £180

2 extra controllers with nunchucks - £90

VC controller - £15

Zelda: TP - £40

Red Steel - £40

COD 3 - £40

Innovation - priceless

Subtotal - £405 (£20 less than a stand alone PS3 ). Actually, it'll probably end up sub-£400 because of the game bundle deals they are likely to do.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the "priceless" thing.

European Realease Date?

Well, December 11th is the new release date for Zelda GC. *Trivia - the eighth anniversary of OoT exactly*. Nintendo has said many times that the Wii Zelda will be launched at the same time as the GC Zelda. Does this mean that Wii will launch on December 11th? Methinkso.

What do you guys think?

Nintendo, Microsoft and Phony, I mean, Sony >_>

During the period March 31, 2000 through March 31, 2005, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo each launched a home game console. Nintendo launched two handheld gaming platforms, Sony one, Microsoft none.

During this period, Nintendo's operating income was 528.5 billion Yen, or about $4.9 billion usd.

Sony's operating income for their game segment was 255.5 billion Yen, or about $2.4 billion usd.

Microsoft's game segment suffered an operating loss of approximately $4 billion usd.

Just putting it here for safe keeping - quite cool, never knew this.

MY LATEST PREDICTION!!!! About WiiConnect24

*4 updates*

My latest prediction is that Nintendo is hiding WiiConnect24 - very little info has been released on it. All Nintendo says when people ask if it will do X is say "posssssibly... >_>" (dots and extra s's added for dramatic effect) ALSOOOOO, some info came up in an interview with the guys who designed the Wii said that they built the Wii around WiiConnect24 before E3 2005 - not built around the Wiimote which is widely believed.http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24968650

So yeah, you can all quote me on that and I have my hopes up on an unveiling of it properly on the 14th/15th or TGS if Nintendo can be bothered to go...

My point is that they are hiding something...just what will we be able to do with it? Download game content? Sure, 360 does it, why can't Wii do it?

*GASP* Where would the content save? There is no HDD, maybe they announce they put a few gig of space in the Wii - that would be intersting.

Of course, wallpapers would be possible, we all know how Nintendo loves wallpapers (Stars Catalogue).

Seeing as the VirtualConsole is online and WiiConnect24 is, obviously online, I also reckon it isn't to crazy to say that the VC will be located within WiiConnect24.

Well, I reckon, we may be able to use it as a hub, which connects every single Wii user. WiiCONNECT24 - we are connected 24 hours a day. It would be like a hub where all Wii users can talk, plan multiplayer online games. Thinking about it, when Nintendo first announced the Wii, they said that every Wii would be connected, ever user would be connected...

"Wii is the first machine that Nintendo can update its OS(Operating System). So, possiblity of Wii can be enlarged in the future. You can look forward to this feature, and I am very excited about it too." I also found this quote from Tekada (one of the guys who designedthe Wii). This is very interesting - the updates of course will be done in WC24 but the possibilites with this are endless. Almost.

So, WiiConnect24 (we connect 24), may very well be more than just a download service with a flashing light, but could also connect every single Wii user in the world. It is also likely to be the home of the Virtual Console.

I'll post updates as I think of them, thanks for reading

*Updates: Improved on my original idea, added in the VC bit, added link, added quote from Tekada*
