Aussie Club is Back!!
Hi-ho everyone!! I know what you're going to say. Where have you been, Aussie Club? Well the club's been busy preparing a POLL!!! Woo-hoo! Click and go to vote on your favourites for 2006.
And to make up for the long absence, next week we'll have another quiz for you. And don't worry - there'll be another shiny suprise!!
Nicholas Boot, a reporter from Today Tonight and his crew are in hot water after they supplied the chains a 84 year old grandmother to make it appear she had gone to desperate measure to stay in her nursing home. Apparently, the authorities arrived to investigate if the woman's rights had been violated, only to find the whole thing was a stunt.
Love my way returns this week on Showtime. The series is still going strong as it heads into it's third season. Justine Clarke (The Surgeon) will soon be joining the cast.
The AFL broadcast is back on Seven with the start of the NAB Cup Pre Season Cup. Seven is starting off the year with nearly all the shows worth watching this year, such as Heroes, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy.
That Ad with the kid in nappies crawling out of the crib to steal Mum and Dad's car and take it to the beach has been banned in Australia in the fear that it will encourage toddlers to do the same. Curiously, it's New Zealand's most popular advertisement.
Bridie Carter of McCloud's Daughters has landed a role as host of National Geographic.
John Waters returns to All Saints this week(27/2/2007)
The New Series Sea Patrol has finally dragged Lisa McCune away from the reality / documentary series drudgeons.
The US network NBC has started work on tv Australian rip-off series. Thank God You're Here and Kath and Kim are to be remade for American audiences. If the shows are so good to being with, why change them?

I think it's good to see the Cricket still winning the ratings. Good for sport and national pride and all that. I don't watch it on TV, I'd prefer to see it live. There also seems to be a worrying amount of news, game shows and reality on the list. And why is it that the news is the No. 1 rated show - did something big happen last week?

Any birthdays, weddings, births - please send them in so we can post to let everyone know

THE pilot of Southern Star drama Secretary which was snubbed by the Ten network earlier this year has been illegally uploaded onto a US website - dailymotion.com atleast until it was removed by Ten shortly after it was discovered. The series, starring Pia Miranda, Vince Colosimo, Kimberley Davies, Peter O'Brien and Susie Porter - was supposedly uloaded by a cast member annoyed at Ten's decision.
However, there's a big year ahead for Ten. The network has invested in a number of new programmes recently including Jamie's Kitchen Australia and Tripping Over. New programmes for 2007 include The Con.Test and Celebrity Dog School. Ten will also kick off the strategy by relaunching its main website, www.ten.com.au, with a focus on video streaming, downloads and communities. The site will be supported by more than 50 programme sites and relevant online communities with appropriate versions and extensions of programmes for portable and mobile devices, as well as for broadband users.

Jamie Durie, previously of Manpower and Backyard Blitz, has left for New York to take on the American Audience. The Aussie hunk will move to New York after Christmas to start filming his own gardening show for the PBS network. Durie was an instant hit on Oprah last week, with the first lady of US television saying he had sent the show's "cute factor" soaring. He is about to start a new Gardening Show on PBS in the US. He has promised that the move is not permanent.
Great Outdoors presenter Laura Csortan has lashed out at the recent sackings of women over 40 in Autsralian Television. Di Smith (Great Outdoors), Naomi Robson (Today Tonight) and Tracey Spicer (CH. 10 News) have all recently got the boot, Spicer getting the sack a week after returning from Maternity Leave.
It's Official, Channel Nine has won the year's ratings, by a whisker! Although Nine thrashed Seven in Melbourne.
If you have any news you think should be posted here, send it in via PM. ![]()

Well with all the comings and going happening around here, it's hard to catch up! alexlips is sticking around to post on the odd forum and blog every now and then - which is good because I know I would miss him too much if he left forever!! In other community news, aslans has taken a short trip, so everyone who has submitted to the Neighbours Guide - don't fret, the Staff are looking after his fine guides.
Got another Community Announcement? Just send it in via PM and we'll post it!
The Aussie Club is still here!!

Hello everyone, squishyhippo here. I am sorry to say that alexlips has decided to retire from tv.com, I know we will all miss him. But I think it's a good idea to keep this club open since he put so much work into setting it up!! And while aplourey is also taking a short break (hopefully he'll be back!) I will be updating this blog weekly.

Kath and Kim (Jane Turner and Gina Riley) are no longer contracted to the ABC. As their fourth season approaches, with Guest Stars such as Mark Walliams and Matt Lucas from Little Britain, they may still jump to a Commercial Network if a suitable offer is made.
Channel 9 has lost it's deal with CBS America, losing the rights to shows such as The Late Show David Letterman and Dr Phil (not a great selection anyway). In addition, they have lost the right to air stories from 60 Minutes America, but 60 minutes will remain unchanged. Ironic.
Tripping Over has been approved for a Second Season. This is yet to go into production.
Channel 10 will air the much anticipated Joanna Lees Story in 2007.
Production has just begun in Melbourne on Chris Lilley's new comdey series, Summer Heights High starring Mr. G, the high school drama teacher. It is expected that Chris will be portraying several characters as he did in We Can Be Heroes (Australian of the Year)
The Force (7) has recently been sold to Dutch Network SBS Netherlands. This series pulled in some of the year's highest ratings when it aired in Australia and the Dutch Station are looking forward to the show fitting into thei nightly schedule. The Network also chose to purchase another season of McLeod's Daughters which has been rating well on the Network.
Also there is quite an amusing article about the year of ratings here: Seven Snatches Defeat - Article on Tv(AUS) in 2006 - the year of crap.
If you have any news you think should be posted here, send it in via PM. ![]()
