I just got banned from YouTube...

Well, only for 2 weeks, but still.

This is in regards to "Bettie Page: The Bondage Queen." Because she was.

My Bettie Page shows are coming under scrutiny. My most popular show ever, that had over 150,000 views in only a year got removed for "sexually explicit content, or intending to be explicit." Newsflash: it was not! It was a tribute show. And it wasn't even hardcore. I can't believe this. Apparently, if this happens a third time, I think my whole account will be terminated. So, time to get a new email and a new screen name, just in case. I have 4 remaining Bettie shows left. Also, I love my screen name. I don't want a new one.

I'm not supplying porn to the masses. It is for the fans, and not all are dudes. This is so unfair. I can't even plead my case, or at least not until November 12. By then, the rest might be removed.

Perhaps it is because of the bondage theme, but if that is the case, my other shows all have that in it. However, I have no nudity, and try to stay away from that.

This just really bugs and worries me. It said I had my video flagged by a member of the community as inappropiate. It's bad enough I have teenage girls upset about a video I made 2 years ago. It's old news, and I try to stress that. Now, my most popular shows shall be under attack?

I wonder how many new accounts you can start. I already have another one, but can't remember my password. I never use it.

Well, in 2 weeks, we'll see what happens.

So Long & Good Night . . .

You're actually pretty lucky compared to me, as your account isn't completely gone. I got my old YouTube account terminated and I had to create a whole new username. And I didn't even know I was doing something wrong in the first place. I thought that the uploads I was making were legal (I'd read this in a video description), yet they were not. I hope you never have to go through what I did. ;-)

That's so stupid. I hope it turns out well for you.

Damn that's awful youtube has a ton of ways to get your account closed.

Think about it this way: in her day, Bettie Page got a lot of grief from various puritanical and "family" organizations for her work. Now, in the enlightened and modern times, you're getting the same crap for the thing for the same girl.

Ain't progress grand?

I can empathize. I have done professional photography and at my first gallery show there were three photographers and three sculptures showing their work. The other two photographers had nudes under waterfalls etc... The sculptures had nude busts. I had fully dressed women in lingerie tastefully posed. Because my pictures were very stark and real one women came in to the show with her thirteen year old daughter and wrote in the register that my pictures were pornographic! Nobody elses, just mine... I guess art is in the eye of the beholder. I know a number of professional non-nude bondage models and they would laugh if you told them their work was pornographic. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Right now, I'm thinking of just taking down all my Bettie vids. It'd kill me, and I don't really want to though. However, I could always wait a bit, and then reupload them, after re-editing them.

YouTube is so unfair. I asked about this, and YT staffers refuse to discuss when stuff like this happens; ya just gotta take it. So in 13 days when I am allowed back on the site, I'll have to take down my remaining tribute shows. YT no longer allows pinup shows. And that is where my main fanbase was from. If I could find more shots of Bettie full dressed, I'd just use those.
