Accepted!! :D

This post is a little late, but.... I got an early acceptance for university!! With a nice renewable entrance scholarship, too. ^^

I actually got accepted ON the day of Obama's inauguration. Funny how that worked out

Now I just have to go and check the place out, since it's a 5 hour drive from my city. I'm going there in the Fall to study Criminology and Criminal Justice... should be fun.

Also, I'm really REALLY annoyed that the Sims 3 got delayed to June 2nd... Although to be honest, I was expecting there to be a delay. Now I'll have to wait until after school finishes to get it, since that's right in the middle of my final exams @___@

A Ghostbusters fan weighs in on Activision
Over the years I have found myself wondering many things about the game industy. Things such as why does EA put out virtually the same games every year with little changes and yet we still buy them (guilty). Nintendo putting out really aweful third party games for the wii and yet the system out sales the other two. Last Activision not publishing Ghostbusters what where they thinking. The last one is the subject of my wrath today. I for the life of me cannot figure out what makes Activision think that Ice Age2 would be a better game than Ghostbusters. Sure it'll sale a lot of copies but the time is ripe to start a new generation of Ghostbuster fans. I know I'm just whining cause I was looking forward to this game for about six months now and have had it pre-ordered just as long. It makes me sad that such crappy games get a green light to one that has such potenial. ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

A Bird in the Hand...

Ok, so many know about my pet Finch, Finchy. But not many know how small he really is so here is a picture I took of Finchy in the palm of my hand.

He's an Austrailian Zebra Finch by the way.

It's been a long time since my last journal, but how do you guys like my Union?

I have changed the Portable Gaming Network to the Gaming and Design Network. I wanted to do this so the forum wouldn't be so limited as far as what conversations could go on within it. Also, I did this to help people get more involved in making games, weather they are interested or have been making them already. It's kind of like a link between designers and gamers. Poeple can even submit their games to be downloaded in the download database in the Union. Well, if you want, click the link below and tell me what you guys think of it so far.

nhl2005 vs. nhl2k5

Surprise surprise. After having sworn off EA's NHL series in favor of ESPN's NHK2k3 and 2k4, I became rather disgusted with the level of shoddy play in ESPN's brand for 2005. Having purchased this game and determining it a step down from prior year's phenomanal offerings, I first rented (unwilling to commit any serious cash to EA) NHL 2005, and low and behold, I was completely blown away by the presentation, gameflow, realistic feel of the game of hockey, and the overall fun level, even in losing to the hated NJ Devils (I'm sadly a true blue Rangers fan). Needless to say I purchased the game 4 days later and have been addicted to it since. Whether backwards skating, overall management of your franchise, shear speed and realism of gameplay, this game dominates ESPN in all aspects. Again, I had sworn by ESPN in the past 2 years and was hooked once again on NFL2K5, which had raised my hopes even further for their brand of hockey. Sadly, although there isn't any real NHL action, there is luckily one game in town and that's EA's NHL 2005.
