I blog, therefore I am
I don't mean to blog, but I'm bored with the old one. I don't want to post another blog about site deficiencies - there really isn't the space to list all the problems that have arisen following redesigns introduced since I last posted - but suffice to say I have a bit of time on my hands now that the addition and editing of cast and crew lists has been rendered impractical.
I could tell you that someone at work stole my iPod. It is a 6th generation model with 160GB capacity, and they don't make those any more. I didn't want to buy a (much cheaper) 7G 120GB model, as I have more than 120GB of material on my iTunes library, so I've spent much time sourcing an unused 160GB model. I could tell you that the picture finally went on my lovely old TV (no reds!) and that I've now got around to ordering a replacement. Or that I've finally asked my cable provider to replace my set top box with a PVR, ahead of my vacation. Jobs all done, I have nothing else to do but wait.
So, with nothing to say or do, I thought I would sing a song instead.
Bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, ba-boom
Bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, ba-boom
Ooh-ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...
Waah
Bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, bub-bub-a-boom, ba-boom...
Hmm. That's an idea. I'm just off to catch up on some old episodes!

I don't have a PVR (we call them DVR here) yet either. I've considered it, but haven't decided I want to pay the rental fee yet. We do have DVD recorders, though.
What kind of television did you get? So far, we've had to replace 2 of our 4 SDTVs and we chose LCD HDTVs as replacements.
I'm about to blog again as well. I was waiting to see if they were going to restore the one blog I wrote while the others were missing, but I'm thinking that one may just be lost forever now.
Welcome to the horrifyingly addictive world of PVR use. One that allows you to proceed frame by frame through credits to gather data no one but you cares about.
As for the song, words fail me ... No, that was you :-D .
With my cable package, the monthly fee is the same whether I have the PVR or not. With so little must-see TV, the availability of an excellent cable TVOD 'catch-up' service, my trusty DVDR, and my preference for DVD box sets, I've held off from upgrading. The one-off installation fee for a device I shall never own was a particular sticking point, but that fee has now been waived.
I always buy Philips - for the past 20 years or so, anyway. This is a 42PFL7404, the first time I've had an LCD set in the living room, although we have Samsung LCDs in two bedrooms. My better half reckons that the new Cinema 21:9 is a little OTT for our domestic set-up, but I have that in mind for my next purchase!
I've bought and paid for a new iPod 160GB, and now await delivery. I've switched iPods in the past, and it takes just a few (unsupervised) hours to load one from scratch if your iTunes library is properly set up on your PC or Mac. I've lost things, and been robbed, in the past, but what's particularly galling is that I work alongside the thief, who may know that it's my iPod s/he stole.
Thanks for the song, I've been humming along with it all day. Good luck with your new setup.
It's nice that the PVR is included with your service. I wish our cable company would offer that.
That's a nice television. It would be too large for our living room, though. I guess we'd have to get a new house if we had that one.
It is particularly disturbing that you work with the person who took the iPod.
