Pretty Tower

The title sounds like it belongs into Mario's world.

A friend borrowed me his Wii a couple of months ago. It was fun; I'm the master of Wario's Smooth Moves, and Zelda was pretty amazing, although I didn't even get to the first boss, because I spent most of the time fishing. It's fun, OK?

But despite the panem et circenses the Wii brought, I decided to get a new computer. I won't bother to mention the specifications: it can run everything smoothly; isn't that enough? I also upgraded to Vista, and despite what the people are saying about it, I'm very much satisfied. No problems whatsoever; any field you care to mention.

What you call a tower, we call 'kuciste'. It could roughly be translated as 'the house', but I prefer the title 'houseling'. Why? Because of this here baby (they won't let me insert the image!).

Not only that it's small, it's a BLOCK! I'll be the coolest flippin' kid on the block!

But enough about me. Let's talk about your houselings.

Tomato Juice.

Angry kitchen

Because I've got a fang. And fangs.

I wouldn't really go as far as to say that I've practically abandoned my beliefs and decided to move down the road of betrayal, disloyalty and massism (also known as conformism), but...

I want to buy a console.

But the trouble of being a hardcore PCer and planting guerillas on any mention of consoles whatsoever; no less raising the possibilities of the PC to something MORE than just the divine and absolute level, has led me in hitting a wall when it comes to small babies. Well, not really hitting the wall. Maybe leaving me beaten and with no pants nor wallet in a dark alley that has strange liquids over the ground. And then being hit over your left knee by a bag-lady whose alley you've taken.

To expose the actual problem:

Which console to buy?

Knowing the specs means almost nothing when it comes to preferable genres of games and the offerings by gaming industries (I won't go into the fields of exploitment nor comercialisation now). But as a PC person, I do have a certain mentality that can't be easily evaded; I guess a part of me will always be looking for the PC element in things.

So regarding consoles. How to even begin viewing them as something not completely alien? How not to fear the controller shaking thing? How to grasp the thought of waving with a Wii controller around the room, hoping it won't land in the turtles' aquarium?

Honestly, I'm aiming towards Xbox 360, but since I don't consider any of the consoles to be a small investment, I'd really cherish your expert opinions. On the choice of games (no shooters, please. And, yes, a great number of people (well, one only, actually) keeps telling me 360 is mostly for that, but I have high hopes), on the actual performance of consoles, on anything personal you might add...

For the sake of bag-ladies.

Censor'd. Same here.

Friday. Friday is the last day of the working week, followed by Saturday. Friday is the day when I will get my mouth taped with duck-tape at least ten (10) times. Friday is the day when St. Nicholas will choke Santa Claus and Jesus will appear without a moustache and a beard. Friday is the day when I am free to presume that Rufus, the Easter Bunny, will get stuck in the closet. Literally. And that's just part of the play.

I'm afraid I can't even express the rage I'm currently devoured with because it really has no effect due to a much stronger force of hysteria and paranoia that's showing up now. Half of the people cancelled their appearances in the play and I had to search for others. Jesus was supposed to punch me in the face, but that was banned and renamed as a no-no, because 'we don't wish to spread violent Christmas messages'. E... Pardon? God sent the Black Death, giant fish, a plague of locusts (har-har-har) and burnt a whole city and they are telling me Jesus can't punch me?! Yep, no violence at all, mate.

Not to mention how I'll never forget the original banning of 'Brian'.

Next to that, my friend's persuading me go ice-skating with her. She doesn't know how to skate. Nor do I. And I really don't have an eager wish to put vehicle replacement as shoes. But you know what? Sku everything; I'll go. One more cast couldn't hurt that much.

Also, New Year plans. Had none, was supposed to celebrate it with the 'A-crowd' part of the class, but I hate the idea itself (which fell apart, to my great joy). Next thing I know, the 'Let's-Go-Skating' friend from the previous paragraph's invited me to her cousin's house party which would consist of 7-10 people (including us). My kind of a partay. Orgies included, of course.

I believe I've quite a lot of blog posts to catch up with, but I would like to save it for some other day which is not Friday. Thank you.

Oh, and if you don't keep your fingers crossed for the 'Chrismazation' (the name of the play) to work out well, every second a charity Santa Claus who stands at a corner with his bell and a big... cauldron will perish from the face of the Earth. Aww... Was I too cruel?

Rome was(n't) built in a day.

No, it was built in 5 freaking hours!

Next time I'll ask the penguins to slap me if I thought of something similar. The "Mursa Project", which is a computer presentation of my pre-Roman and Roman town (yes, it's THAT old), has finally taken shape. It has taken shape a long time before, but it was so fugly made (by some other people) that I couldn't stare at it, and I was supposed (and still am) to present it, plus lead the whole show (your local, lovely host).

To make the long story short, I suggested re-making Mursa in the 3D environment of "Caesar IV". Since I've never really played the game, I had to go through all the bloody campaigns and what nots. But I've done it. Panem et circences, really.

The school strike's finished, the professors got what they wanted and we'll (probably) get three (3) Saturdays of schooling. You know what? I don't really care. Because of the Saturdays. I'm glad for the professors. Their pay was really a disgrace, and considering the fact that our schooling very much differs and is unknown to the wide world, they truly deserve that one.

Considering I've a couple of essays to write, I'll make this a short entry (har-har). I'm expecting a few good books to arrive from the UK soon. The cinemas in town are up and running again. I haven't had a muffin in a while. Yeah, that's life for you.

Plus, I'm making a video for a friend. Hope it'll work out fine. It's annoying when you have a the perfect shot in your head, but the virtual camera just can't cope with it.

Yesterday I bought two pens. Both of them aren't working. Nope, don't mind it.

When the presents you get are just plain sputid.

One of my friends is extremely bad at gift-picking. For that matter, she doesn't even choose her own clothes, but wears everything she gets from her 3ingly rich aunt who buys her fugly, 3ingly expensive stuff. She's also 3ingly greedy. My friend, that is.

Today, for the first time in my life, I saw 'Rebel Without A Cause'. It would've been good if it weren't for the corny music at the beginning and the ending. Oh, and if Jim's jacket were brown.

Due to today's date (which is an overrated holiday here; don't know about the rest of the world), there won't be any school until November 6th. That came good because of several things:

I'll get to work on the Shakespeare play.

I'll get to work on a new play I've become involved in by accident. The professor asked me to be both the playwright and the actor, but I rejected the latter. Though I'm worried about the roles; we'll have to find the most perfect actors. It also came in at a good time (the play) due to the fact that Shakespeare is way too comic, and I've struck a balance, with this one being extremely serious and heavy. It'll be written on the basis of a small novel written by a Croatian writer.

Next; we'll soon have another national date to mark, the Fall of Vukovar (a town). For 12 years now we were forced to write something about that town or about the war for that date, and always it would end up with corny, superficial poems about a soldier writing a letter to him Mother or about the sufferings of the people, blah, blah. Can I condole with those sufferings? Frankly, I don't know. The subject has been so washed out and patronised that it makes one wonder. That's why I'm going to write a 'blood & gore' story. Normally, my Croatian professor would expect something like that from me, but this... eheh, other professor, who happens to be the Literary Group leader (in which I've no idea how I've gotten into. The group.) won't be too keen on putting such work in the school hallway. Well, so-rray.

I'll also write a couple of short novel-like stories, based on some recent events.

Oh, and yesterday I met this kid, Minja. He's also in the School Play Troupe. He wouldn't be so intriguing if he weren't a star of television series about World War II and (especially my) countryside. The series were superb and I bluntly remember his performances but from what I've seen, he was good. Though I'm not sure if he were fit enough for the play I'm writing. I'm taking it with modesty.

Oh, and Hitler's right tooth suddenly became this giant tooth of sharpness. I hope the other one will grow as even.

Superb

Album Review

Sunyata Vas
""
Appearing for the first time in 1997, Vas brought a specific orient taste to the well saturated new age and world scene. Sadly, the duo's debut album is often underappreciated.
The album emerges perfectly from the artists' world, allowing the listener to imagine landscapes and stories that melodically arise from Azam Ali's rich voice and Greg Ellis's playful and yet precise percussion beats. The album consists of repetitive melodies, but they are so masterfully arranged and done that one really can't get enough. Highlights are such as very fragile-like "Refuge", seductive "Sunyata" and exotic "Iman".
They entered the scene with superb quality. Did they truly achieve the state of sunyata is on the listener to discover.

About Me

Well, I enjoy life stimulations and logical puzzles. I also like RPGs, and even those sophisticated, deep 'hack-n-slash' games. As long as I don't get killed. It's not that it's hard to accept, but it gets really annoying not being able to reach the first 'Save Game' post and to be killed for about 27 times. But still... I don't give up. Really.
