After playing the game for a few hours, I began to notice the sharp variation in the maps, and the surreal quality that the game held. This quality is something that I haven't forgotten, and haven't seen in any game since. My love for Tribes 2 grew every time I played it, and still when I think about a few specific maps, I am awed by the lasting impact that a few artistically placed hills and ruins leave.
For the next few months, I spent every moment of free time I had playing this game. I quickly found home in a server, which supported the REVMOD 2.0 mod, and became a member of its community. I made a few friends, and was surprised how close knit this community was.
One day I was playing a game on my home server, and was surprised to find that the shooting had stopped, and every player on the server was gathered around one of the bases. After a little investigation, I found that one of the regulars on the server had been killed in a car accident, and they were putting together a memorial service. I watched as 21 gamers stood one on top of the other and simultaneously fired their sniper rifles in memory of their friend.
As I played the game, I began to get to know the players more and more. Whenever I would go online, it seemed that someone that I knew was on my server, and was willing to play. On Easter of 2004 I met a fellow Tribes 2 lover named SpartanSoldier, or Zack in real life. We initially started a conversation due to our shared religion, but soon became somewhat close friends. As least as close as you can become over a video game. Over the next few months I played in several tournaments and social games with SpartanSoldier and other gamers whose names I can't remember. I still remember the quality of social interaction that this game held, and I'm confused as to why I ever stopped playing it. I do know, however, that one of the last, if not THE last time I played the game was Easter of 2005. I was playing the game when my uncle came to visit, and remember dealing with some pretty bad lag. I had been dealing with this problem for a few weeks, and it didn't seem to be getting any better. Eventually I guess I just gave up with it, and closed the game for good. It's been about 4 years since I really got into that game, and I was just thinking about it last night. I was thinking about the lasting effect of the virtual environments, and the friends I had made, and expressed reluctance to returning to the game. I was afraid that the game I returned to would not be the one I remember. As was the case with many other online games, when their initial run is up, all that is left is empty servers and casual gamers. It occurred to me that all of the people I had been playing with have probably moved on with their lives, much the same was I had. Sometime over the course of those 4 years since I stopped playing, each one of them had played their last match, and uninstalled the game in favour of Tribes Vengeance. Right now, I'm the age SpartanSoldier was when we first "met". Now he's 18, and probably in college. I just find that depressing.
Anyway, after thinking about this for about an hour last night, I decided I would go back to check out the servers one last time. Just a few minutes ago, I was on Wikipedia reading about Tribes 2, and I discovered that the servers required to run Tribes 2 are going to shut down permanently on November First of this year. I've only got a few days to reinstall the game, and have one last tournament on Tribes, assuming that someone is still playing. It would be cool if everyone from the old REVMOD 2.0 server put together a time to meet for one last game, but that's not going to happen. I guess that just goes to show that everything ends eventually...
Hey everyone! I haven't been active on the gamespot forums for some 9 months now( and no its not because im pregnant, sry had to say it lol because 9 months) Mainly because i've been spending most of my internet time on youtube! And myspace, aol, and runescape. But now i'm gonna start being active once again here on GS because don't worry i still have a love for video games, and i think i owe it to the community to start being active again after all, i've been level 20 for the past 9 months!
So anyway sorry to all my friends and fellow gs members that i may have "ditched" when i became inactive, it was not my intention but its just how it ended up. So expect to see me on the forums alot more, expect future blog posts, and maybe some reviews, videos, and some activeness on unions. Thanks everyone for your time, and HAPPY GAMING!!
Oh and i now own an XBOX 360 and have COD4 ON XBL my Gamertag is gmhuntr6mm, but don't add me unless u tell me on here first and you want to play cod4 because thats basically all i play, maybe gta 4 once in a while.
I got to ask this also, who's pumped for spore, rock band 2, fallout 3, fable 2, far cry 2, prince of persia, and all the other Hot titles coming out this year! and which one are you looking forward to most and why??

So yea, since my last blog post my driving has become a lot better.. I've been out practising for about 3 or 4 hours every weekend, and I've yet to make a big mistake.. The worst I've done is nearly running a red light lol. I haven't been out driving in more then a week though, cuz my dads been in Melbourne so theres no one really here to coach me.
I had exams a few weeks ago, and I gotta say, I did pretty bad... I failed all but one of my papers, and that totals up to 8 big "Ns" (not achieved)..Only thing I managed to pass was Chemistry, which is my favourite subject. But yea.. overall result = terrible. Gave me a big wake up call.. So I decided to study everyday, not matter what. Pulling my socks up.. Even though those exams didn't matter too much. They're just there for practise.. but if I failed those, I'd suck big time in my End of Year Externals, which will decide my future.
But on a happier note, I'm one of the 7 people in my class who passed our lastest physics paper. Yep.. Physics is HARD.
Ahh.. I also sorta postponed playing RE4. I dunno why, but the game just didnt grow on me that much. I mean I like it a lot, but I always feel like I should be doing other things instead of playing it.. So I'm just gonna wait till the two weeks holidays and make it my objective to clock it then. Thats in two weeks now btw.. I can't wait !
My brother also borrowed the Gundam Seed series of anime from his friend - I just finished watching the season a few days ago. I absolutely loved it ! One of my favourite animes ever.. Anyway, I'm watching Seed Destiny now, and its pretty disapointing for a sequel.. One thing I don;t really like about it are the characters... Even though most of them are back from Seed, the new main characters are pretty lame.
I'd love to take any recomendations for anime to watch after Destiny.. So if you like something and think I should watch it, I probably will. Only ones I have in mind right now are Gundam Wing, Howls Moving Castle and Spirited Away lol.. So I'd appreciate any recomendations !
Finally, on my blog tittle, I was talking about - you guessed it, MGS: PO Its been a long long long time coming to NZ, and I pre-ordered it a month ago, and Gameplanet finally emailed me yesterday telling me that they got the shipment of stock and I'll be getting my game by Wednesday I'm definetly not going to quit this game, I promised myself that. MGS 3 is one of my favourite games of all time, and a sequel to that.. its gonna be golden. Woohoo !!
So that's all happening in Ameets gaming world... Not much I know. It's all gonna change after MGS arrives. Anyway, thanks for reading yawl.. I really appreciate it. Sorry if its a bit long..

It's not because i watch them every day but because i used to watch them all the time.I still enjoy the series and i would have to say that this is my all time favourite cartoon series.
My favourite cartoon series right now is South Park.
This show is great.I simply love Cartman,he's the one.I haven't seen a cartoon more funnier than this.
The only show that tops this one is Seinfeld.
