Gaming: a $60+ experience?

Now i'm not one to complain much, heck I don't really have much to complain about. But the prices of videogames? There just getting outrageous. For a long time games have been $60 and people have probably gotten used to it. But with the next gen systems games supposedly supposed to be made at around 40 million(?) the price will almost undoubtedly go up from $60, to arm and a leg. I have always been the type that chooses quality over quanity, its just who I am but, this new stuff just won't cut it. No, I wont stop gaming, but those devs better make the best freakin games possible if the prices go any higher than $60. At that point there wont be a hit-and-miss. It'll be hit what the public wants or else SLASH, your gone.

Of course some of these bigger corporations probably wont have to worry since they can diversify. In fact I think just about every company is trying to diversify. I dont know if this is an evolution in the business or what but when I see Square Enix making a 3rd person shooter, well you know there trying to make money somehow. Who knows really what the future might hold. Downloadable games are getting evermore popular, and there cheap(most of the time anyways). Maybe gaming will be phased out jk. But this is definitely a difficult time for everybody, and thats coming from a 15 year old.

If anything fellow gamers I would expect less and less games to be developed for the next gen(when it gets here) ang this gen will be milked and milked til' theres nothing left. Still yet I expect this generation of consoles just might outlast the aging PS2 and -cough- -cough- xbox and gamecube. What the future holds may be vey exciting, a real revolution in the way we play videogames.

My final statement is this: Since videogames are going to be way more expensive to produce in the future, developers will probably try to innovate and get the most out of this generation. That and the next generation will probably HAVE to sell well, or elso a lot of developers are gonna go outta business or be bought and consumed by the bigger corps.

The Big Three

Its been a while since i've posted a blog, so i'll get straight to the point. 2008 is going out in style, with AAA quality games coming out, its hard not to be excited, despite the failing economy in the US. In particular there are three games i'm getting before christmas that are going to be awesome(yes, its guranteed they'll be awesome )

The three are...

1.Far Cry 2 2.Fallout 3 3.Tom clanceys Endwar.

Three unique games that are going to be sweet. In case you've never heard of Far Cry, its an FPS that takes place in Africa. The number one factor i'm getting it is because its gonna have an awesome map editor. I mean come on, who doesnt love to spend hours creating a virtual paradise?(... dont awnser that)

Fallout 3 is gonna be awesome because of the gore factor. I've been following this game closesly for a pretty long period. When I first heard about it I wasnt that interested, until I heard it was being made by Bethesda. I know anyone that makes Oblivion's got my trust. Anyways, he day I opened my eyes on Fallout 3 whas when I was watching the E3 coverage on G4. They had a special on it and was showing the gameplay engine. Lets just say that Todd wanted to show Adam a special treat. Todd pulled out a weapon called the rock-it launcher and said it could fire virtually anything, with anything being trash. Well Todd went into VATS and aimed it at a raider, when he shot it a teddy bear(yes, a friggin teddy bear!) went flying into that guy and blew him into chunks. Needless to say, that game is gonna be awesome!

If you havent follwed Endwar, its basically an RTS that you control with your voice! It gets rid of all the Resource gathering crap and gets straight to the war. I've gotta say, its one strategy game that may actually require strategy!

But, I GTG, gotta play Mass Effect and try to get the Renegade achievement!!!

Currently playing... games full of BS.

Right now i'm currently playing Guilty Gear X2 #reload for the 360. I downloaded it and its a lot of fun, if not a little strange. I'm playing that and Fire Emblem: The sacred stones. Both of them are great, but there both full of BS .

Guilty Gear is well... very unique . Its a very colorful game and the soundtrack is cool, but this isnt a review so i'll just stick to personal opinions. My favorite character is Ky Kiske, he is something like Raiden from Mortal Kombat mixed with a justice loving swordsman. Google him, he's pretty cool. Although like I said before, this game is full of BS. Where its all in japanese I cant understand much of the battle dialogue, and the storyline for each character is confusing, but heck its from Japan, what can I expect. But it is a lot of BS. I'm playing it on normal and some people like friggin rape me(not literally). That and I dont know what the heck a EX Gold character is.

Fire Emblem: the sacred stones for the game boy advance, is an excellent game, but its full of a whole crap load of BS. I'm talkin you could probably fill the Grand Canyon with this games BS. If you wanna get my point i'll tell you a funny story. In this game if your units die, they go bye bye forever. In other words, make one mistake and your screwed. Now on to my story... I spent maybe an hour or two playing a single battle. I ended nearly every enemys life. There were two enemy generals in the battle, one had already been slain by my mage. So I figured i'd kill the other general and end his pathetic life. I gave my strongest soldier a dragonslayer lance because the guy I had to kill rides a dragon. Well I attack him and hit like a 32 or something and the guys max life was maybe 45. So the enemy general was near death, and I didnt want him that way, I wanted him dead. So I send another unit to attack the wounded general. I had a 70+ hit percentage and woulda done 20+ damage. He had like a 2 percent chance to hit a critical. Guess what happens. My guy attacks first. I miss and the enemy pulls out a BS attack and hits a critical. Whoops, my guy ends up enjoying a nice spot in heaven(or more likely in hell hehehe) By this time I was ready to chuck my controller(I had a game boy player) into the TV then use it to murder a helpless puppy.

Currently wish I could play... Supreme commander for the 360 or C&C3: Kanes Wrath for the 360. I'll probably get Supcom at the end of the week, if its in stores by then.

Christianty, pushover of the modern era.

I hate religion in entertainment because its usually Christianity that gets attacked. Usually when there is a Chrisitian in a movie they are portrayed as fanatical nutcase even though what they stand for seems just. I will defend Christianity because it teaches good morals and provides certain standards that even atheists should try live by. Todays Christians are taking more and more crap from certain single individuals that feel that a certain piece of paper or anything is encroaching on them and killing them silently.

Why did we remove the Ten Commandments from public schools? Well If a slip of paper was jumping down off the wall and choking someone who didnt agree with it I could understand. But unfortunately, paper is an inanimate object and cant kill people. Sorry. So why remove them? I guess someone didnt agree with the fact that murdering people shouldnt be allowed.Another thing is the fact that people disaprove of the saying "In God we trust" on our currency. Honestly I spend money more than i do reading it. But then again, why should any religion be publicly allowed?

Another thing I hate is people who act like christians are the badguys. I saw an episode of the Simpsons that blatantly insulted christianity by acting like they beleive anyone who thinks differently than them is evil. The Simpsons also flat-out said there isnt a God and that if you belive in him then your a nutcase. If anything is true in todays society its that atheist are proving that evolution is indeed a fact and there is no God. There is no proof we came from apes just like theres no proof there is a God.

I felt obligated to post this and i'm sorry if I offended you. Still I have my rights to speech to say that there is a God just like you have yours to say there isnt. I'm not a heavily religious person, I just hate it when people act like if you believe in something beyond death then your a fool. That and the fact that people act like a piece of paper is gonna kill them for having the words "Ten Commandments" posted on them.

This is the last day...

Todays my final day of school. I'm still in highschool so dont expect me to say much. I guess its kinda funny because I just downloaded "Schhols out" by Alice cooper or whoever wrote that song. I've already put it on my PSP so i'm gonna take it to school and play it on the bus ride home. I'm sure nobody will mind, even the seniors shouldnt. Thats mainly in part because I live in a dead-end town in Kentucky where the only immediate work after school is the coal mines. Heck, i'm not going there though so dont worry about me getting crushed by boulders anytime soon... not to insult anyone or anything.

Each systems key games

As we know, each system is gonna have its ace to win the public over. I'll give you a quick review.

Xbox 360: Key Games: Halo, Gears, Fable. These are exclusive Microsoft logos, you know em' you love em'. Halo and Gears are two of the most intense FPS's of all times. And Fable rightfully proves itself as a great RPG.

PS3: Key Games: FF series, MGS series, Killzone. These games are easily recognizable to the public, each of these games maybe with the exception of Killzone is a legend in its own right. While Killzone is great, Resistance: Fall of man rightfully earns its place here too. After all, Resistance did practically jumpstart the PS3.

Wii: Key Games: The Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros., anything with "wii" in the title. The wii's creative gaming is becoming more and more popular. The legend of Zelda games may not be GTA, but they too are good adventure games. Super Smash Bros. is a classic beat em' up and is really family oriented. The wii fit is also very popular and wii games in general are becoming more and more popular.

WTF? Everybody hates Microsoft now.

First I have to say a few things to make myself clear and not be hypocritical. 1. Out of all the next gen systems, I only own a 360. 2. I am playing my games on a standard TV. 3. I do have a XBL gold account. 4. I do own older sony systems including a PS2, PS1, and a not-so-old PSP.

1. Blu-Ray VS. HD- Okay so Sony beat 360 with Blu-Ray, big deal. Microsoft did take a wrong turn trying to sell the extra HD-DVD player. Honestly though, if a better picture quality screws over the 360 and makes the PS3 god among consoles then go ahead and kill me now.

2. Games- "Exclusive" games suck. It gives fanboys a reason to insult each other forever. "Oh who gives a crap about Halo, I got Resistance!" Its crap like that that makes me so friggin angry. Honestly, the PS3 has a lot of games that I will probably never be able to enjoy due to financial situations, but dont rub it anyones face that you have a game that they wont be able to enjoy in the immediate future. Think about it, its just like saying we both have the same car, except mines a differnet color, so that makes it better.

3. PS3 pwns 360's online content- Dont ever give me that crap either. "Style?" Well you might be able to explore the internet with a PS3, but thats about it. The 360 stays up-to-date with all the new things coming out. Movies, games, demos, you name it. The PS3's online may be free but heck, paying $60 for a year isnt going to hurt me. Both systems have there own unique qualitys, making them both unique systems.

4. Thats about it- I'm not saying the 360 is better in anyway to the PS3, nor am I saying the PS3 is better. I'm saying please stop the crap saying the "Rise of the PS3" is near. Less and less games are becoming exclusive, the 360 and PS3 and Wii will all have great games and they'll all sell well. Stop bashing other stystems just because you feel yours is superior to another. Games are Games, nothing will change that. Each system has its fair share of horrible games, so when you speak, think before you act.

Xeno Cross: Story One.

Xeno Cross

Story One: First Storms Dark Omens

All the world was plunged in war. Although the world was mostly uninhabited, four races primarily dominated the world: humans, orcs, elves, and minotaurs. The humans and orcs were in a bloody stanglehold for primary control, the orcs were losing. The humans were led by the Xeno church, a power hungry organization tricking the civillian population into playing into there hands by means of the "Saga theory." The orcs only believed in domination through force. During the final days of the war it was in the zeno plains that the "storm" started...

Arrows rained down like a torrent upon the orcs, their losses were stacking up. Mangled bodies littered the once beautiful rose-covered plains. A stream of blood formed the battle line. "Keen von ze, krok Haaz!: (translation) Keep holding brothers, we musn't fail!" An orcish leader screamed. "These orcish dogs should all just die!" A human soldier shouted to his own comrades. Then the two fought, the orc and the human, this was the defining moment of the battle. The orc lashed out at the human, wildly swinging his steel sickle sword. The human effortlessly dodged the blows and then with a single stroke of his iron sword, decapitated the orc. The orcs lifeless body fell to the ground in a pool of black blood. The orcen western flank, without its leader, began to fall. Orcen losses were sky-rocketing, then another orcen leader to the east shouted "Retreat to our beautiful city of Shin-Megnez. There we shall make our final stand!" Thousands of badly wounded orcen soldiers broke ranks and fled to the south. Alas, Shin-Megnez was the orcen capital, and the orcs final city.

Please forgive any gramatical errors and feel free to post any comments or questions.

An epic War, soon to be posted...

A while back I when I was in maybe the seventh or eighth grade I wrote a twenty part series of stories called "Xeno Cross." It was in two acts. Act one was about a war between the humans and orcs. Soon elves and minotaurs get involved and the result is the annihilation of a race. I cant say much about act two without giving away to much of the major plot. Anyways, i'll soon be rewriting these stories because the old ones arent really that good. I will rewrite them and then post them here to see if anyone who happens to stumble upon them might actually like what I wrote.

I should be able to at least get one story on here in May or June. Trust me, i'll try to make them detailed enough to be able to connect to. They wont be very long though, I might add.

The Black Sheep

Sooner or later in life there comes something so great we dont wanna miss it ever again. This could be many things, a movement in society, a wife, or even the witness of something awe-inspiring on TV. These moments are the Black Sheep of life, once spotted you may never let go. My good friend had many talents. Very good artwork, he could play any instrument and he was a great funny guy. My friend soon became addicted to drugs, this was his black sheep. He just wouldnt let go of his addiction and hes squandered his talents in life. Now he's nothing more than a husk yearning for more material objects.

Some Black sheep are beneficial, others are potentially deadly. Try to understand, life has many callings, its up to you to find them. The Black Sheep shouldnt be voided, but rather understood for there purposes. Drug use has its benefits, many men and women use it to help strengthen or improve there lifestyles. Others use it as a blind to escape the reality behind our cold eyes. The Black Sheep that really benefit us is our self-understanding of the many overlooked things in life. Grace lies behind childbirth, its a beautiful process. Though the long run may seem horrible, think of others who have no opportunity to have children. We're all here for a reason, and this reason is ours to make.

PLEASE TAKE NO OFFENSE IF YOU MISINTERPRET THE MESSAGE!!! YES ITS YOUR FAULT IF YOU GET MAD AT ME!!! LOL

Why, why, why?

I remember watching a CSI episode where the killer was a playing a violent video game and that "made" him go crazy and kill people. I can understand prolonged exposure to violence might change your mind on that stuff but for goodness sakes, video games dont kill people! Society is seeing drastic changes, more and more people are playing video games. Has the murder rates went up? Have there ben people running around the streets of New York gunning down EVERYTHING(sure theres shootouts and stuff)? Of course not, and how can government say anything about violent exposure when on the news all you hear is "seven more marines killed during suicide bombing-death toll reaches 2,000." And how can the television show thats also showing innocent people being killed say its not exposing the public to violence. Violence is todays propaganda, it always has been and always will be no matter how much violence we're exposed too. War has been in every society and nothing can change the evil men do.

Before I click "submit" i'm not encouraging you to commit acts of violence, nor promote it. I'm saying man is man and why, why, why cant people understand that.
